Edgeset is located on Hancock Pond in Denmark, Maine. (Ponds can be very large in Maine - this one happens to be approximately 2 miles across!) This vacation home was constructed in 1966 and has been a favorite vacation site for the Hershey family and many other families since that time. The property consists of approximately 1.5 acres of wooded land and 250' of water frontage. The front deck is about 30' from the water's edge and has a wonderful view looking south over the lake.
Edgeset is a great place to relax and just get away from our busy of lives. Enjoy a swim in the clear lake water (you can often see the bottom at up to 10' deep). Take a canoe ride to enjoy the beautiful scenery as well as the local wildlife, you typically will encounter at least one of the following: loons, eagles, Mergansers, Bass and many more. Or maybe you want to go for a walk/hike in the woods, there are many options to choose from.
The home itself is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath house/cabin that is a great place to be in every season. It has beds for up to 7 people (queen, full/double, 3 twins with one twin as an upper bunk), a washer & dryer, fireplace, ping pong table and a large deck. In 2017, the first floor underwent a major renovation that included a complete kitchen remodel with new appliances, a new bathroom, and new flooring. All of which enhance the Maine lake experience! The closest store is Jimbob's general store that has a little bit of everything and is about 4 miles from the house. For additional shopping including grocery stores, hardware store and all kinds of unique shops the town of Bridgton ME is about 10 miles from Edgeset.
Want to go and explore the area? This vacation rental is centrally located between the Coastal beaches of Maine and the White Mountain Range in New Hampshire & Western Maine, either are within an hour drive. So you have many choices to choose from, a day at the beach, a drive to the top of Mount Washington, a local hike, swimming in a refreshing mountain stream, oh and if need be, plenty of shopping! Shawnee Peak Ski resort is just a short 10 minute drive away.
So contact us today to book your week (or weeks because one is never long enough).

This comfortable, traditional country home is ideal for the families who want to vacation together but also want their own space. The home has the added bonus of having a kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom(s) on each level with a spiral staircase that connects the two. There are lots of windows that offer great views of the waterfront and surrounding mountains, as well as awesome sunsets that reflect off the lake. The house comes with 110 feet of private waterfront on Moose Pond and a large lawn area with a picnic table and fire pit. A boat can be launched directly from the property. NON-SMOKING. NO PETS.
- "A wonderful place to stay on the lake! Sandy beach, warm water and a yard to play in!" - "The weather was cool. The fishing was hot. Great trip" - "This was our family's first time staying on a pond or lake and our kids absolutely adored the experience at this home. We were left wanting for nothing. The home is immaculate and well stocked, the view is unbelievable, and the location is absolutely ideal for kids, with a large grassy yard, a sandy beach and no drop-off in the water, a dock off of which they could jump, and a pedal boat that the kids loved. We've been missing the home ever since we left, and talk about it all the time. It was a magical week and Deb was a fantastic host. I can't recommend this location enough!"

- "We loved our stay at this home. We found the place to be very quiet, off the beaten path and yet most of the things we wanted to do within an easy drive. Bridgeton is a fun town. Make sure you stop in to the Queens Head Pub for lunch or dinner. Excellent food. North Conway is always another fun place to be. 90 minute drive and we got to Mt Washington Cog Rail for the trip up the mountain. We saw plenty of our family, and found the layout of this home easily accomodated our group. Nice spot. Well taken care of...did i mention the lake? So nice. And the Loons called out often."

Beautiful lake views and sounds of nature abound here.
Woodhaven is a classic 2 story 70’s style A-frame structure designed and constructed in the early 1970’s by my father as a secondary property for our family to enjoy as our adjacent property, Four Seasons, quickly became a popular vacation rental destination. The sandy beach has a gradual lead in but drops off quickly and has some great underwater diving rocks. The nearby ground level deck has outdoor seating under shaded trees while the upper outdoor deck provides a nice sunning location and seating area to enjoy your morning coffee, lunch, or evening beverage.
Sleeping quarters include 3 private bedrooms- a master bedroom on first floor with adjoining bathroom and 2 private bedrooms on the 2nd floor.
My family has been enjoying and renting this property successfully for over 50 years. Cottage has been continuously improved upon and updated to provide reliable year-round access and has up-to-date mechanicals.

This house is one of only a handful on the picturesque pond. You will have your own, private, shalow lake entry, private wooden dock to use and a floating dock (with built-in loungers!) to swim to, and sunbathe on! Our pristine pond is ideal for swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing and more. It is small enough that big boats (over 6 HP) are not allowed. That means your peace and quiet won't be interrupted by loud, busy boat traffic typical of large lakes.
The architectural charm of arts and crafts of this bungalow opens into a relaxing, modern oasis. An open floor plan means easy conversation whether you are cooking, entertaining, or reading one of our many books by the gas fireplace.
First floor: Primary suite with water views, brand new, gorgeous "lighthouse oak'' hardwood look-alike floors, and en-suite bathroom with shower, tub, and double granite vanity. Guest room also has water views, and brand new ''lighthouse oak'' floors. A full bathroom with granite counter tops and a shower off the adjacent hallway. Each bedroom features dresser, hamper, and many hangers for your convenience.
Hallway closet features stackable washer/dryer with folding area.
Fully equipped chef's kitchen is flooded with light from windows and a skylight. Granite counter tops include eat-in breakfast bar and separate dry bar, perfect for pouring cocktails or setting up your charging stations. Dining room has seating for 8 people. The main entry leads to a roomy foyer with oversized windows to pull your focus to the water views that continue onto a back deck. Custom woodwork on the banister-a showpiece.
Second floor: Kids bedroom with 4 twin beds, desk equipped with all you need to keep your kids occupied and off-screen (crayons, markers, pencils, glue sticks, safe scissors, drawing paper, etc), and two bookcases filled with wonderful children’s books. A sizeable landing turned into playroom, with additional twin size day bed, sitting area, large smart TV, Wi-Fi, several cabinets filled with brand new or like-new puzzles, board games, family games, playing cards, Magformers, Duplo blocks, Me Reader books, and Read-Along CD books with CD-player. Adjacent full bathroom with shower. All new, insulated, soft carpeting.
Since we have children of our own, we are particularly focused on providing a family-friendly experience. We have plethora of lawn games to use on our beautifully designed front and back yards: Soccer ball with two goals, 4-people Badminton set with a foldable net, Basketball with a full-size free-standing basketball hoop, Hammock, Slip-and-Slide, Cornhole Game Set with 8 bean bags, Beamo, Toss and Catch, Paddle Ball Set, Pop-Pass-Catch Game with 4 Catch Launcher Baskets, Bubbles, Mini Scooters and more.
There is a brand-new Webber grill right outside the Dining Room sliding doors for your cooking convenience, and a fire pit in the backyard for you to unwind and relax. The back deck is perfect to hide away with a good book or enjoy your morning coffee with the view. To enjoy the wooden dock and your private waterfront we have beach chairs and beach towels. The property includes plenty of trees and boulders to climb, and is surrounded by woods, streams, and ponds waiting to be explored.

Four Seasons is a single level ranch style cottage built in 1955. Our family purchased the cottage in 1968 from the original owners as a summer lake house retreat and have been enjoying and renting successfully for over 50 years. The sandy beach is fairly wide and shallow and drops off very gradually, while the adjacent waterfront deck provides comfortable seating and great views of the lake as you enjoy your morning coffee, lunch, or evening beverage.

- "Private Pleasant" - "Extremely peaceful location on a quiet, clean lake. Close to good hiking and the Saco River. A piece of heaven." - "It was as if we rented the entire lake, not just the cottage. The only other people we saw or heard were the next door unit renters and that wasn't very often. Even with the unit right next door there is amazing privacy! It was myself, my husband and our children (14yrs and 12yrs). We brought our 4 Kayaks with us and my husband spent loads of time fishing and caught MANY Bass and some Pickerel at all times of the day - not just dawn and dusk. The water was the perfect temperature for swimming and that's what my son spent hours doing with a mask and kickboard. Lovely sunsets every night made for some great photos while out on the water. From inside the cabin it almost feels like a house boat because you are so close to the water. The long farmer's table was perfect for us. We had a running Monopoly game going on one side which left plenty of room for dining and sitting on the other. The cabin was well stocked with board games for entertainment. I didn't pay close enough attention to the listing to realize there was no television available, however, it turned out to be a positive in the end. Don't worry, wi-fi worked great so there is access to outside entertainment if needed. We played lots of music on the available sound system and even listened to some audio books to round out the nights together. My 12 year old didn't even want to leave the house most days to go on excursions, he loved the location and nature access so much. Hannaford is about 20 minute ride away but if you stock up you only need one trip. We spent our days in Naples, Windham, tubing the Saco River (family favorite), North Conway shops and Portland - all within in hour of the cabin."

- "The property was fantastic, and we especially enjoyed how private and peaceful it is. You cannot see or hear your neighbors, and the lake has very little boat traffic. The camp is beautiful and well stocked." - "The cabins were comfortable and well stocked. We had a great time on the water and by the fire. Everyone enjoyed the much needed screen breaks and the time outdoors." - "My daughter and her husband and two boys came from Oregon to spend a week with us in the cabin on Sand Pond. The boys are 15 and 11. Their three cousins were staying in our cabin across Sand Pond and there wasn’t enough room for all of us in that cabin so this one fit the bill. The boys slept in the loft. During the day they kayaked and fished and swam. We had picnics on a nearby rock in the lake. In the evenings they made S’mores at the fire pit. The weather was beautiful except for one sort of rainy day. The cabin came with many games that they played. They also watched a few kids movies which also had been supplied. They also played soccer on the field near the cabin. We found the beds comfortable and the cabin well stocked with dishes and pots and pans and utensils. Nat and Donna thought of everything. The grownups especially liked having the dishwasher and the washer and dryer!"

- "Going off of the pictures the home looked gorgeous and like the perfect little getaway for lounge back and escape. Actually experiencing the home in person, the pictures as beautiful as they are absolutely do not do it justice. The firepit out back overlooking the mountain and water is breath taking. Inside the home was perfect! It was clean and cozy, but also updated and modernized. All of us felt right at home! Would definitely return! On season/off season, it is the perfect place for any time of year!"

- "Very well appointed cabin!" - "Had a great relaxing weekend getaway. The cabin was perfect and cozy. I love that it was also pet friendly. Would absolutely stay again. " - "The home met and exceeded our expectations. Comfortable, cozy and everything needed was there. Will book again! " - "Meticulously clean and as advertised.Fireplace was awesome. Beds very comfortable. Games upstairs and in basement were so much fun! The only suggestion I would have is regarding the hot tub - it's behind the cabin, with no back-door access, leaving us to awkwardly walk over very icy terrain out the front door and around the side of the cabin, after dark shockingly speared by motion sensitive light! Not very romantic lol! Overall a very nice stay in our favorite ME/NH area.thank you!"
