- "What a beautiful serene cottage on the lake. Our stay was impeccable…from the on going communication with the property manager to the card, flowers, and pie in the fridge. He knew we would be arriving late and went to turn on lights and make sure everything was ready for us to just hop in bed after a long day of traveling. The cottage is located in a peaceful quiet part of Androscoggin Lake in Wayne, Maine. It is truly a Maine experience. It was clean and there were kayaks and a canoe for us to use. Unfortunately, we did not have time to enjoy it all as much as we would have liked considering the circumstances for our travel. However, that just leaves more to adventure the next time we are there. We will be coming back! The reason for the 4 stars for cleanliness and location are: 1 the fridge needed a good wipe down but that was it. Plenty of towels, gorgeous comfortable beds and linens, everything was super clean and comfy. Maybe could’ve used a window fan or two, since it was warmer than expected but honestly we have absolutely NO complaints… 2. the location is in Wayne. It is a commute from the nearest airport and city life. If you are just trying to get away and do not want the hustle and bustle of the city.. this is 100% for you! As it was for us. I honestly could not say enough positive about this place. It was exactly what we needed and way better than we expected. Mike is amazing and truly just wants to ace this VRBO experience for everyone. He is fantastic!"

Quiet location on small lake for a quiet get away or retreat - a writing, crafting, art, meditation time, or just a beautiful Maine relaxation week a few feet from the lake? What ever!!! But water sports and hiking are certainly available in the area too.
Max 2 person. Full kitchen, 3/4 bathroom with shower, front room (living and dining) overlooks Pleasant Pond. Deck with patio furniture out front door of cottage. New internet installed last year.
Cottage has 100 feet of lakefront, and is 10 steps from the clear, freshwater Maine lake with loons (and usually 2 babies!) nesting across the way. Resident great blue heron is seen quite often. I've actually seen a loon swim under our dock - very exciting to see him so close!!! Ramp to dock and stairs to water from dock, for swimming, as well as tying up kayaks or canoes, or small power boat. (Boat ramp available on other side of lake.) Swimming is refreshing, and water is clear. Fishing is available, although I'm not much help in that area.
Pond has a few power boats on the weekends, but mostly Patio boats, trolling skiffs, Kayaks and Canoes are in residence. Lake is 1 mile by 1/2 mile, with an inlet and outlet to explore, and a sand bar extends out near the middle. It is 60 ft deep just off our shore.
The cottage was totally renovated in 2019. Wood floors and knotty pine interior. A queen bed in the one bedroom, which is 'open' to the front room, with pocket doors that can be closed for privacy. Large trestle table for dining or crafting. Front of cottage is totally windows for the southern and western view of the pond , which includes exquisite sunsets (of course!!).
Access is on a well kept private road. The town of Turner is delightful, has a grocery store, a convenience store/sandwich shop, hardware, laundry, and library . The larger town of Auburn is about 15 minutes from Turner, which has more amenities as needed (larger department stores etc), including a nice artist presence. Bates College Dance festival is in full swing during mid summer. Nezinscot organic farm is 2 miles away in Turner. Turner Highlands Golf Course is up the ridge behind the cottage. Portland is about 1 hour from the cottage.. New Internet installed.
- "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The cottage was in terrific shape, the dock was easily accessible, the pond was quiet and beautiful. We loved our stay!" - "The lake is just the perfect size and not to crowded. The cottage was updated nicely and so comfortable." - "We had a lovely stay at the Loon’s Retreat. The cottage is so cozy, we had everything we needed for a peaceful relaxing stay. This is our 2nd year of staying here and we hope to be back!"

Loon's Nest was purchased in the spring of 2017 and renovated to be family friendly, open, and comfortable! It's a great small cottage for a family or couple to enjoy the lake and all it has to offer!
We purchased and renovated our first house on Norcross Pond in 2016 (a 3BR+ down the lake - VRBO#886930) and were so excited when this smaller camp came up for sale on the same lake in 2017! We spent the spring of 2017 renovating have had a house full of guests since then! We hope you enjoy sharing our Maine getaway. You can see some of the renovation and lake photos on Instagram @LoonsNestMaine
House: The main living and gathering space is on the upper floor (kitchen, dining, living room with pull out sectional, and full bathroom), downstairs is one bedroom (queen bed, pull out full size sofa bed, and desk). Bedroom also has room for a pack and play (available upon request). Both levels have huge windows that overlook the lake and the new deck. There is a full kitchen equipped for cooking and a new oven, stove, and fridge in 2024. The house has a re-built deck, morning coffee area off the front of the house, and a "happy hour" deck down towards the beach. There is a small front patio (non-lake side) with a charcoal grill and seating area as well. Also, if you're coming with little ones, there is plenty of baby/toddler gear available if needed (high chair, pack and play, books, crayons, paper, games, toys, kids plates/cups/bowls/etc).
Note: The house does have stairs from the street to the house, in the house, and to get to the lake. Be sure that you are comfortable with this and able to navigate steps easily before booking.
Lakefront and Lake Description: Stairs lead from the house to a private beach area with dock, canoe, and paddle boat available for use (included). Norcross Pond is one mile long with camps and homes along one side only – keeping the lake quiet. Water is clear and the lake has a sandy bottom for great swimming. Speed boats, pontoon boats, and jet skis are allowed, but since the lake is small you don't gets boats out all day. A boat ramp is available if you want to bring your own boat to park at the dock (note, the boat ramp is dirt and steep). The lake is full of bass, perch, and stocked with trout, so bring your fishing rods no matter what season you visit. There are also nearby places for blueberry picking, hiking, movies, ice cream, restaurants, etc. The lake is amazing for fall foliage and is in close proximity to Mount Blue, Tumbledown, and Other hiking mountains for fall.
Local Things to Do: hiking, blueberry/strawberry/apple picking, movie theater, ice cream, lobsters, restaurants, markets, festivals, fair, antique shops, biking, beer garden, skiing, snowmobiling, and more.
Nearby Excursions: Farmington, Belgrade Lakes, Mount Blue, multiple ski mountains, Sandy River Railroad, DEW Animal Farm, Norlands Living History Center, Golf (Turner Highlands, Sandy River, Wilson Lake, and others), U Maine Farmington events, and more. Lots of excursions (hiking, skiing, ocean, and more) within 1-2 hours - Maine coastal towns (Camden, Rockport), Rangeley and Saddleback Mtn, Sugarloaf, Bethel/Sunday River Mtn, and more.
- "So beautiful on the pond, loved fishing, canoeing and listening to the Loons. Great spot to get away from it all." - "Fantastic house perfect for a relaxing getaway! Everything is updated and clean, filled with charm and all you need. It's located on a beautiful lake with a fantastic dock and bonus pedal boat and canoe. Laurie was also very kind and a pleasure to communicate with. She provides a lot of useful information upon booking and at the house about the cute surrounding areas which is great :) We would definitely recommend!"

Awake to morning sunlight, water lapping on the shore, and the soothing call of the Maine loon.
Peaceful and private location on a quiet lake (jet skis prohibited), offering great fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and relaxation. Experience an abundance of wildlife, including eagles, osprey, loons, herons, turtles, fish, or maybe even a moose!
The cottage has two bedrooms (sleeps five including pull-out couch and bed on enclosed porch), full kitchen with dining space, living room, bathroom, large screened-in porch overlooking the lake, small deck, picnic table. The porch is great for an afternoon snooze. The kitchen is equipped dishes and utensils. The living room has comfortable seating and a Rinnai propane heater. The cottage is completely equipped except for linens, blankets, and towels.
This rental includes two kayaks, one canoe, a small row boat, and life preservers. Motor boats can be rented from across the lake (and they will deliver to the dock!). Just steps from the cottage is a nice dock with a large area at the end for swimming, sunning, and fishing and with further access to a swimming "float" 50' offshore along with a boat ramp. If you're looking for some great fishing and wildlife, you can take a kayak/canoe trip across the lake to Pickerel Pond!
Wayne General Store, a post office, and Chubby's Ice Cream are located in town within a mile from the cottage, which makes for a nice walk, kayak, canoe, or bike ride. Hiking and biking trails, as well as a golf course, are nearby. Mount Pisgah, a small "mountain" in Wayne, offers a short hike for all ages; 30-minutes to the summit with a fun, climbable fire tower on top (with stairs) providing amazing views of the surrounding lakes. A shopping center is about a 20-minute drive from the property.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

- "You only really need to bring food, body wash/shampoo and clothes. We were rained in the first 3 days of our stay so we ended up watching their movies, playing Xbox, building wooden structures, and reading their books. Once the weather cleared, the boys went fishing at dawn and dusk and played on the beach every day. Our dog was too scared to step foot in the water but I think he appreciated all the new critter smells. Kitchen was stocked with pots, pans, bakeware, an electric griddle (!), and plenty of plates and utensils. Lots of bath towels, beach towels, and even a towel for the dog. There was even a stocked first aid kit with a tube of much-needed hydrocortisone. We enjoyed our stay on the lake and hope to visit again in the future."

- "Large beautiful Lake with excellent kayaking and fishing. Cabin well supplied and very clean. Owners very friendly and helpful. Spectacular Sunsets with campfire on Lake." - "We very much enjoyed the cottage. We came to Androscoggin Lake to fish and it did not disappoint. We caught White fish, perch, crappie, and northern (pickerel). Neighbors also staying in the cottage group report they frequently catch bass. There is good fishing structure in the lake and places to get out of the wind if need be. From a people standpoint… it was EXTREMELY quiet (except for the occasional loon call). There was a lovely beach, the bottom is rocky (and therefore not weedy) with a gradual walk-in to the water, and the water was surprisingly warm (78 to 80° ) for the beginning of July in Maine. The floating dock accommodated our 18’ boat with no problem and there was plenty of room to park our boat trailer on the property. There was a playground and great lawn space if you are a game playing family. A volleyball net was set up. The owner always responded immediately to all inquiries."

This does not make the house inaccessible you will simply have to park at the lower end of the driveway until the plow has made its pass.
The house is equipped with a propane fueled generator that provides heat and electricity to the entire house for any power outage situations that arise due to inclement weather. Fuel is provided and on site at all times, there are simple step by step instructions posted for the generator set up and operation.

Canada Goose Cottage is one of nine cottages situated on 25 majestic acres with a beach and boat dock. It is located at Angell Cove on Androscoggin Lake in Leeds, Maine. The boating, the bass fishing, the woods, the hiking, and the swimming, combined with the loons, bald eagles, and osprey create the perfect summer vacation. Come back in the fall to enjoy campfires on the beach and see the spectacular foliage. The cottage sleeps 6: a private queen bedroom, a loft with twin beds, and a pull-out queen sleeper couch in the greatroom. A full bath with tub/shower and a half bath are on the first floor. A complete kitchen includes a microwave, refrigerator, gas range/oven, and a coffee/tea station. The greatroom has comfortable seating, a propane heater, and a dining table that seats six. The furnished front screen porch overlooking the beach provides great views of the sunsets over Monument Hill and the island where bald eagles nest. In 2021 a 10x12 attached deck was added overlooking the lake.
The cottage was completely renovated in the spring of 2017. The bedroom and loft were whitewashed and the kitchen cupboards received paint and new countertops. Handpicked furnishings, fittings, and fixtures keep a traditional lakeside Maine cottage feel. The spirit of a family owned camp is evident in the knotty pine, buffalo plaid, soft lighting, and touches of cranberry red. The loft is great for napping, you can hear the loons and owls from the bedroom at night, and the screen porch is a cozy place to curl up, gaze out over the lake, and lose yourself in a good book. We welcome you to share and enjoy our beloved piece of paradise. Hopefully, it will become a yearly tradition for you too!

Built in the 1915 and lovingly maintained this cottage is wonderfully situated on Labrador Pond in Oxford County. It has an old timey feel but has many modern conveniences. It has 2 full bedrooms with a full bed on a wrap around screen porch that gives one the feeling of sleeping outdoors. It has a full kitchen with a full compliment of cooking utensils. The screen porch offers an almost limitless western view and at night of great sunsets. There is a float attached to the rock ledge in front of the cottage and wonderful swimming.
- "Just loved the location and the cabin, which was a step back in time. Very reminiscent of the family camps we all experienced growing up. Very quiet and we kept it that way. Basic amenities in a classic early 1900s setting. We wanted for nothing, found our bliss and was sad to leave."

Come enjoy privacy in the shade of the 100 acre woods in the "East Livermore" section of Livermore Falls, Maine. From Rt. 133 there is a short discontinued road which leads to our quiet woods road. A lovely cabin tent is all set up with a bed and bedding, waiting for you! (There is a nice outhouse, but no shower) Listen to the birds, read a book, talk, play cards, have a campfire, relax, hear the rustle of the trees, wander the pine needle paths. There are no other campers around!
The space
Your site has a 12 X 16 wooden platform on which a 10 x 10 cabin tent is set up complete with a full sized bed, bedding and pillows. The interior has rugs, two small tables and a book shelf and chair. A white tarp is above the tent and deck area to give extra protection from rain and give one a place to sit and enjoy thunderstorms! The deck has two chairs. Solar lights give atmosphere. Picnic table and fire pit are situated slightly below the tent in a private, woodsy open area. A small charcoal grill is provided (but no charcoal), and a selection of utensils and "pots and pans" for use with the grill are on site. Some water and campfire wood is provided.
Guest access
Feel free to wander our "100 acre woods". The site is not on any body of water but water access to a variety of nearby lakes and streams is within an easy drive. Vehicles only can access part of it and need to drive slowly. Parking is slightly beyond the tent site and an outhouse is set back in the trees near parking. There are no shower facilities.
Other things to note
This "glamping site" is set 0.2 miles back from Rt.133 in East Livermore, Livermore Falls. We unlock a cable to our wood's road before your arrival. Drive slowly as the road has some bumps... our small car travels the road well, but drive carefully.
