- "Nice property, amenities and very clean! Many comfortable rooms with good beds. We all had a great time! Okemo staff is very friendly and helpful. They were always available, patient and respectful when we had questions during stay." - "This is a beautiful, clean, spacious property that any guest would be pleased to stay at, no matter what time of year! We felt welcomed before we even stepped into the property as communication from the property owner was exemplary. Everything was clean, beautiful, and exactly as described. Actually better than described as the pictures don't do the place justice. Would highly recommend to anyone and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. So many great things to do in the area as well, from outdoor activities to shopping and more (interesting things for all age levels). Thank you for our wonderful stay!"

Welcome to the Vermont Lake House North Bay, situated on a quiet dead-end drive on the North Bay of Lake Saint Catherine, offering incredible sunset views and private lake frontage on one of the best spots on LSC. With a lakeside patio and dock, large deck, horseshoes, fire pit, kayaks, and an expansive lawn, there is no shortage of ways to unwind and take in the serenity of this quintessential Vermont lake house, during every season.
The space
Well-kept home has been updated throughout, and includes a smartTV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, high-speed internet access (enabling work from ‘home’), a master BR with sliders to the waterfront deck, books and games, spacious bathroom, and a well-appointed kitchen with granite countertops and a double-door fridge (no freezer; bring a cooler if you’d like – ice can be purchased nearby). There is a pack-n-play, and the deck has a gate to keep little ones from going down the stairs. The lawn does have a slight slope to it, so watch the kids. *Maximum occupancy is 8 adults.
The water is shallow near the dock for wading (NOT DIVING!), and drops off just beyond the dock – great for fishing, swimming, boating, and floating.
LSC boasts some of the cleanest water in New England, and is ideally located to take advantage of everything the area offers. The LSC Country Club just across the road has a challenging 18-hole golf course and restaurant & tavern open to the public. Within biking distance are the Slate Valley hiking and biking trails, with magnificent mountain and lake views. The fall foliage cannot be beat – and be sure to check out Hick’s Orchard. In winter, reach six ski resorts within an hour, bring your snowmobile just down the road to ride, ice fish or ice skate on the frozen lake, or snowshoe on any number of nearby trails and properties. Look to the charming towns of Manchester, Dorset and Rutland, 30 minutes away, for shopping and farm-to-table dining. Want to catch a world-class concert or watch the thoroughbreds run? Saratoga is a leisurely one-hour drive! There are several breweries and a winery nearby, too.
Then come back to the lake, settle into an Adirondack chair, and – if you’re lucky enough – catch a glimpse of the resident bald eagles.
Security cameras: One outside camera on the side the main entry, to view road and driveway. Another outside camera on the rear of the house to view the lake condition. A third pointed at the slate walk away. All cameras will be on during your stay .
Need more space? Check out VT Lake House across the lake!
*There is no freezer, there is an ice maker that makes ice in 7 minutes, we suggest bringing a cooler and putting ice in it.
**House does not accommodate more than 8 adults. If this is exceeded, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and/or charge the extra guest fee.
- "It was a great stay at the lake." - "Lake house and location were great for our family vacation." - "House itself has all that one needs for a pleasant stay on the water. Lake has minimal boat traffic and water was perfect for swimming. We also had fun with the 2 paddle boards, kayak and canoe. Golf course just down the road was fun: great staff, treated kids well." - "Beautiful House, Beautiful Lake. Perfect for a peaceful escape. Enjoyed chillin' on the dock."

- "This home rental is truly a piece of paradise. The house was lacking nothing. Beautiful comfortable spacious bedrooms. The open concept with the living and kitchen area was fabulous. The windows and amazing views of the lake! I really can't say one unkind word about this home. The individual ac settings were perfect. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. We had great weather and enjoyed being out on the water everyday. The sandy bottom and non seaweed swimming area is priceless. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board provided. We also rented a boat and our dock was perfect. Lastly, having the laundry facilities and extra refrigerator was fabulous and so helpful. We had a busy 1st week with friends in and out. The 2nd week was much quieter. I think we conquered three puzzles. We have truly found our happy place, and can't wait to come back. RJ and Chrissy Styles"

- "We spent a 3 day weekend at this house and it was soooooo nice. The lake is beautiful and it's literally like 10 steps away from the backdoor of the cabin. There are kayaks, canoes and paddleboards for use and you're on a nice inlet that is safe even for not super confident kayakers. No dishwasher (it said there was one in the listing) but with four of us that was totally fine. Would recommend!" - "Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It is an absolutely beautiful home and the view of the lake is breathtaking BUT...there are way too many stairs to get into the property and then to get down to the water. The Cottage was built in 1910 as a “Mother in Law” house. It is a small, yet very cozy 2 bedroom home. The shower is constructed from local Vermont slate. All the amenities of home. WiFi and cable.
The sidewalk starts at the cottage which leads to the town in just over 1 mile. Perfect for a walk or bike ride. Pico, Killington and Bromley Mountains all less than an hour drive. Plentiful fishing and boating opportunities. 3 miles to Lake St Catherine, under 10 miles to Lake Bomoseen. Slate Valley biking trails surround the area.
The Cottage is located in the East Poultney Historic District, which encompasses the historic center of the rural village of East Poultney, Vermont. The district is centered on the triangular green at the center of the village (across the street from the front yard) and was developed mainly from the late 18th through mid-19th centuries, producing a village with strong Federal and Greek Revival architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The Cottage is right next door to the old Poultney Schoolhouse which is now the Poultney Historical Society building. Tours of select buildings are given by appointment only through the Poultney Historical Society.
This is the perfect area to ride a bicycle. The sidewalk starts right out by the front lawn, and continues down all the way to Poultney. There are plenty of local bike trails to ride on. For more trail information please visit https://slatevalleytrails.org/bike
The Cottage is located next to the Slate Valley snowmobile trail. The trail is easy to get on from the Cottage and is located right across the street at the Baptist church. Pets are allowed for an additional fee and the guest must ensure that they pick up after the animal inside and outside. No pets on the beds or furniture. Pets must also not be left unattended and free to roam in the home. They must be in an appropriate crate or equivalent if the guest will be leaving for short amounts of time without the animal, and also at night.
- "The cottage had everything we needed to make our vacation perfect. It was well located to Ski Killington and Stratton. The host live right next door and was very responsive for all our needs to make the stay as pleasant as possible. We would definitely rent again." - "The location was perfect for us, close to family. The cottage is beautifully renovated and was very ready for us to move in for an extended stay. We hated leaving that shower! There's plenty to do within a short distance ... so many little businesses and beautiful places to explore! Very quiet, we slept very well in our comfortable bed! I took many morning strolls, such a pretty little area!"

Enjoy your relaxing stay on Lake St. Catherine with our wrap around deck, swings for the kids, plenty of dock space, kayaks and paddle boards. The loft bedroom has 5 beds for comfortable sleeping. There is an unfinished basement TV room ideal for gaming. This is a dog friendly neighborhood. We are located 1 mile away from the Lake St. Catherine Golf course and many mountain biking and hiking trails are nearby. Manchester outlet shopping is just 30 minutes away. You will enjoy beautiful sunsets and frequently see eagles fishing in the bay. Please note that we use a water cooler as the water from the faucet is lake water filtered through a cistern . It is perfectly safe to cook with and bathe in, but please add bottled water to your grocery list. We prefer guests bring their own bed linens, which keeps the cleaning fee low. I'm sure you will have an enjoyable experience.
- "The property was gorgeous right on the water with kayak’s and paddle boards to use. As well as a water trampoline and lot’s floaties! The cottage was well stocked with all the amenities you would need! Being so close to the lake was terrific. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Everyone loved it so much they talked about making it a yearly trip. We would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a family or friends trip."

- "This camp is on flatter ground than a lot in the area, so it makes it nice for older people. We got an added bonus, as they are almost finished with a 2nd bathroom upstairs. It was nice, not having to make a trip downstairs in the middle of the night. Although we didn't do a lot of cooking in, it was stocked with everything I needed for meals. The only " con" I could list is, we had a hard time getting the leg rests down on the chairs. ( but that may only be due to our age/strenght )I would definitely recommend this property. We really enjoyed our stay at Lake St. Catherine."

- "I stayed here while visiting a friend in nearby Poultney, VT. Price was good and it worked out well for my needs." - "The property wasn't very orderly and clean. There was a bucket of dirty floor water with a mop in it, laundry in the washing machine, dust "bunnies" under the beds and in the living room and the coffee pot had been put away with a used coffee filter left in it. The electricial for the bidet was suspect. The refrigerator wasn't cold but the property manager brought us a small one so our food didn't spoil. A "user" guide would have been helpful especially with the TV ( no one of know how to stream) . I hope that this property can fix these issues as it is very spacious."
