The barn was beautiful and the neighboring town was perfect for some day trips in between skiing at nearby Bromley Mountain. - "My husband and I spent 2.5 weeks at this cottage. One highlight is the screened porch where I spent every morning drinking coffee and listening to the Battenkill River. A wonderful way to start the day. The kitchen is small but well-equipped. I was able to move things around to make room for what we brought. As mentioned in another review, the stairs are a bit steep but the railing is sturdy and the steps are carpeted so no issue for us. It was nice having two living areas. The beds are OK but could have been firmer. Not a deal-breaker. The location of the cottage allows you to go into town from two different directions and bypass the traffic."

This converted barn, now a two-story apartment, is framed inside by the barn's original beams. Furnished thoughtfully, guests will encounter vintage rustic and industrial pieces complimented by new and antique mid-century touches. It is a perfect spot for a couple or two friends.

The first floor offers a soaring two-story ceiling, windows from floor to ceiling, and vibrant sunlight. A great room, the first floor has comfortable living and dining spaces, with a small kitchen.

Climb the steps to the very large loft bedroom and find a king bed, a seating nook for reading, a desk for working, a wardrobe, and a dresser. A small, updated, and functional bathroom sits off the master bedroom.

Please note that the barn shares the 6+ acres with the main house. We may be staying in the house or have renters in the home during your stay. The barn is set off from the house and the property is such that you may never see people that are staying in the house.

We love children (we have four) but we are not comfortable with children under 12 staying in the apartment due to the loft bedroom. This lovely 6 bedroom home which sleeps 10 people is a perfect place for a family vacation. The great room, connected to the kitchen and dining room is the favorite place for family activity while enjoying the fire and views of the mountains. The second living room provides a more tranquil place to relax in case you chose to be away from the hub-bub of the great room. The large Farm Table in the dining room is perfect for warm family dinners. The porch is fantastic summer, fall and winter. Sitting on the porch in the summer enjoying the view of the pasture, horses and mountains is equally wonderful as enjoying the views during the winter from the hottub. The playroom is a terrific place to let the kids watch a movie, if the adults want some quiet time in the great room. Walking/hiking trails are just steps from our front door. Skiing is 10 miles from our home.
