Our art-filled gem is recently renovated 2-bedroom, in-town apartment complete with a European-style luxury kitchen featuring Vermont marble counters. There are restored fir-wood floors, new carpeting and new paint everywhere, and brand new electrical-to-code wiring. We are air-conditioned and have toasty heating for winter. Complete with designer and heirloom furniture, antique and fine oriental rugs, nautical pieces, and original paintings by local artists; our second floor hideaway offers peace and quiet, privacy, and off-street parking with views to local shops and restaurants. Set up for work-at-home, we have high-speed internet and a work station overlooking a quiet street. across the street is a shared workspace for those who need more privacy. New landscaping, a garden sitting wall and seating; and Asian garden art line the stone pathway to the entrance to our little haven. New for fall of 2022 is a Solo Fire Pit for use in the garden and new Adirondack seating for four. Privacy fencing aesthetically separates our home from the new house next door. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

- "There were multiple issues with this unit mainly pertaining to our access. There were multiple issues with the vacasa key pad and the code not working. When we arrived, the code was improperly regenerated and we were not able to access the house for more than 30 minutes. We were then given a temporary code (although not told it was temporary) and able to get in. On the second night we were also unable to get in to the house. We called again and were told that the new code we had been given had expired and we should have been given a back up key located in a lock box. The lock box was outside the door that was covered in ice leading up to it making it treacherous to access. This is apparently an ongoing issue with this unit and we had to wait another 30 minutes on the second night to get inside. The accommodations inside were nice overall, but there were a few issues. The designated parking space that we were given in the check in instructions was in use and the garage code did not open the other side of the garage so we had to park outside. The front door was covered in ice so it was dangerous to access. Additionally, there were not enough pillows and the toilet did not always flush fully. The wifi name that was posted on the wall was incorrect, but the password worked after guessing at which account it was. "

The Barn, situated behind our house, is located just a few minutes walk to the center of Manchester. It is a working studio setting with general living area on the main floor and a bedroom above in a loft. Hot tub, outdoor shower and outdoor space is accessible. Very clean, very fun space with ample room, comfortable bedding. Perfect for two. (Note: Bedroom Loft is only accessible via a spiral staircase).

The space
The barn is a multi-use building with a work shop on one end, our design/marketing office on the other. Welcome to "Above the Mat"! They say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, and once you open the door to our condo and experience its surroundings, you'll log another life experience that proves that true. Nestled in the heart of the beautiful green mountains of Vermont, lies the iconic Manchester Laundromat, and above it, our newly renovated 1,000 square foot 2-bedroom condo available to you while you experience everything Manchester Vermont has to offer.
The space
As soon as you enter, you'll be greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. The condo has been recently updated with all new furniture, appliances, decor, and all lofty, ethically sourced, hypoallergenic RDS certified down and feathers comforters, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Start your day off right by waking up to the delicious smell of freshly baked donuts from Willoughby's, just downstairs. You can choose to enjoy breakfast there, across the street at Starbucks, just up the road at Up For Breakfast or at one of the many nearby restaurants, or make your own in our fully equipped kitchen. With a full refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, and dishwasher, you'll have everything you need to make your own meals.
Other things to note
The condo features two bedrooms and can sleep 6 or more guests comfortably with a sleeper sofa in the living room. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed and plenty of closet space for all your belongings. The second bedroom has a full-size bed, a twin trundle, and a twin bunk. All rooms have large windows that let in plenty of natural light and offer beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

This little first floor cottage apartment, is attached to a bigger house with one family living in a separate apt. space. Each apartment has their own private entrance. It is located in the middle of Manchester Center. Walking distance to the charming downtown, including Northshire Bookstore, cafes, and Greyhound stop. There are lovely parks, restaurants, shops, and galleries just steps away. Park your car out front of the apartment and never have to drive while you stay, a very walkable town.

The space
The apartment is located in the back of a carriage house, the main carriage house occupies a small family of two. The apartment our guests stay is attached to this larger carriage house, with the entrance located in the back of that building and is entirely private, no spaces are shared. We have most amenities you would need for the bathroom and kitchen, including plenty of towels.

Guest access
The apartment space is private, with a parking space right outside the front door. It is a contactless check in, meaning simply when you book a stay with us, we unlock the cottage an hour prior to your arrival at check-in, at 3pm, we’ll send you an informational check in message a day prior to arrival with the details again.

Other things to note
There is an EV charging station across the street in the parking lot where Josiah Allen Real Estate company is located. In the same parking lot is where the Greyhound bus to Albany can be accessed. This apt, located right in Manchester, is the perfect space for those who ski and those who don't. As one of our more affordable properties it also provides a great space for those who need longer stays.

KITCHEN, DINING, and LIVING ROOM: Prepare your very own farm-to-table meals in our brand new chef’s kitchen, featuring a large central island, stone countertops, and top-of-the-line appliances. (Ask us about our favorite markets and farm stands!) We provide all of the equipment you need – from pots and pans to oils and spices – plus a coffee bar to start your day.

The cozy living area features a plush sectional sofa and armchairs where you can gather, relax, and unwind – whether it’s over a board game, a favorite movie, or an impromptu singalong at the piano. The piano is a rare, baby grand, American-made Yamaha.

BEDROOMS: The Taconic Suite has two bedrooms, both of which feature king beds with top-of-the-line Serta® Perfect Sleeper® mattresses and quality linens. The comfortable beds and simple decor in both bedrooms all but guarantee a good night's sleep!

The Taconic Suite is one of three units at the 1812 house – one of the other units is a rental and the third apartment is my home for part of the year. Each apartment has its own parking area and entrance for optimal privacy and security. The Taconic Suite has a private deck and dining area, however the expansive backyard is shared with other guests.

We love pets at the 1812 House and are happy to welcome one dog up to 50 lbs. as part of your reservation.

Dogs must be leashed in common areas, including the yard, and should be crated if they are left at the rental alone. Please be aware that my (very friendly!) 22 lb. Labradoodle, Kiwi, may be present during your stay and if there are guests in the other rental unit, they may also be traveling with their pet. Please get in touch with any questions prior to booking.

There is also a full-sized day bed with a twin trundle bed in the upstairs landing, both of which have memory foam mattresses. Please note that this is not a private space and it is not included in the bedroom count, though it does represent 2 of the 6 available sleeping spaces.

BATHROOM: The recently updated bathroom is located on the second floor. Our fluffy new towels are a guest favorite and even better when paired with the automatic towel warmer. Please note that there is only a shower (no bathtub).

Quiet, spacious space close to skiing. This is a 1600 sq foot entire 2nd floor of a home with private entrance near the end of a private road shared by just 7 homes. Located less than 2 miles from Manchester you will have the peace you are looking for yet close to shops, restaurants, hiking, and skiing. If you are looking for something a little more laid back you can always relax on the front covered porch.
