The heat pump when it was cooling made a loud sound that was annoying. I had to turn off the cooling and only let the fan run in order to sleep. I would probably not stay here again due to the noises of the hallway and the heat pump."

It was nice to drop the digital screens for a few days and actually talk with each other. However, the WiFi worked perfectly for my Zoom doctor's meeting and I was able to take a glimpse at the golf tournament from time to time on the satellite TV. We fished at Lake Roberts and hit a local restaurant for some pie. Silver City is an easy drive from the Cottage where we went antiquing and grabbed a microbeer on a lovely Saturday afternoon. The biggest and friendliest asset of the property were the owners who were perfect hosts. They are great people with interesting lives. We enjoyed seeing them if we needed anything or for a friendly chat. They also gave us our private space when we didn't need anything. I look forward to returning in a few months when we need to escape the desert heat. The weekend is one of the fondest times my wife and I have had."

Have you had a chance to sleep in a Church before? Well now you can. The Casita is attached to the Historical adobe church, through its sacristy. You can make this a spiritual experience, or just a unique experience! The Church property plays out over an entire city block. It is available for contemplative walks, watching the sunrise, observing the sunset; enjoying the Spanish Courtyard.

The Casita is a 700 square foot open living area. You have 2 queen beds and one daybed to choose from. There is a kitchenette consisting of a sink, microwave, 2 burner hotplate, refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, dishes, and utensils. The Casita opens up onto the large Spanish courtyard which is shared with the Rectory building. The Spanish courtyard consists of multiple sitting areas, as well as a gazebo available for your use. The Casita also has its own private patio from which to watch the sunsets and use for your enjoyment. The private patio is near a garden which you may putter in, if you so desire! The Casita has a full bathroom with a shower but no tub, and you will have access to a second (public) half bath.

The property has a manager on site at all times in the Rectory building. Since the property has many nooks and crannies dating from the 1860's with additions and improvements since that time, guidance may be needed to complete your experience. The grilling patio and kiva fireplace located near the front of the Rectory, is also available for your use and enjoyment.

Hatch is known as the Chile Capital of the World. Each Labor Day, the Chile Festival is held over that Saturday and Sunday. Chile enthusiasts from all over the world come to participate in the "red or green" event. During non-Chile Festival times, the surrounding areas are calmer. We have fields of growing cotton, wheat, onions, as well as Chiles. The pecan orchards provide resplendent towers of green in this lush valley. A drive down Highway 185 between Hatch and Las Cruces is one of the more scenic drives around.

The Church compound resides 1.5 miles south of Hatch in a colonia called Rodey. The Church's bell tower can be seen from Highway 185. You will turn on El Colorado Avenue into Rodey, and go 2 blocks to the Church. Find your way through the front gates, and make your way to the Casita.

Many attractions are available in the area. Truth or Consequences provides hot springs for soaking enthusiasts to the beaches of Elephant Butte reservoir to cool your toes. Silver City is an old-west town near the entrance to the Gila Cliff Dwellings. And how often do you get to sled down white sand? Well you can at White Sands. Petroglyphs abound in the state; just find your starting point. Dripping Springs near Las Cruces heralds a gentle hiking trail to see a piece of history in the Organ Mountains. THE LIVING ROOM is adorned with beautiful Santa Fe style viga ceilings, a traditional Kiva fireplace (decorative only) and original artwork. Enjoy watching TV on the Smart TV via ROKU or log into your Netflix or Amazon account for your favorite shows.

THE KITCHEN is in the heart of the home (and our favorite room in the house!) and is fully stocked with an arsenal of kitchen tools, gadgets and appliances that would make any chef proud. With plenty of room to move around, there is a stainless steel center island workstation on wheels, custom built cabinets, gas stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher and a stainless steel French door frig with 2 ice makers and filtered water.

DINING ROOM share meals at the large modern live edge wood table which comfortably seats 6.

BEDROOMS
1 - THE MASTER SUITE can be closed off from the rest of the house for extra privacy and quiet. Enjoy a restful sleep on a King size luxury mattress with100% cotton high thread count sheets, down bedding and black out curtains for when you want to sleep in. En suite master bath with large walk in shower and double sinks and lots of shelves and storage. Ample closet space and Elfa drawers available to unpack your belongings for longer stays. Connected to the master suite is a private office nook with a small desk and ergonomic desk chair.

THE SECOND BEDROOM features a new King sized luxurious medium firm mattress on a mid century modern style platform bed and 100% cotton high thread count sheets, down bedding and blackout shades.

THE COVERED PORTAL accessed from the back of the house via the dining room, this private space provides a covered outdoor space in which to dine and relax. An outdoor sink and two ceiling fans create extra convenience and comfort in the summer months. Enjoy breakfast outside at the modern dining table.

WORKING REMOTELY: many guests have opted for a longer stay while working remotely. In addition to two dedicated workstation areas, we have high speed internet and an Eero Pro mesh Wi Fi system to boost the wifi signal throughout the property. UPS and FedEx come directly to our door daily and a drop off for both is a short few blocks away.

BEACH TOWELS are provided if a visit to the local hot springs or lake is in your plans.

WATER FILTRATION SYSTEM provides filtered water throughout the entire home. Feel free to drink directly out of the tap!

COOLING - provided by a ducted evaporative cooler with screened vents in each bedroom area to circulate air throughout the house. Built in vents are in each bedroom which pulls the cool air through from the kitchen ceiling vent so no need to open windows. In the hot summer months, we recommend keeping the cooler on at all times to keep the inside temperature constant.

PARKING/HOUSE ACCESS:
There is one dedicated off street spot in front of the house. Additional vehicles can park on the street in front of the house. Other than on the street or in front of the house, there is no boat or trailer parking.

GUEST INTERACTION
Casa Chamisa is the main house on a large gated corner lot. We lovingly call it 'The Compound.' Next door to the main house is a another adobe casita where a family member lives (she's an artist and teacher). When in town, the owner lives in a separate unit located on the property and is available for any questions or concerns via phone or text (or in person), but will give you and your guests space and privacy you during your stay and will enter the house only if/when requested.

PETS on PROPERTY we have 2 rescue dogs on the property but they are inside their own fenced area. No additional pets are allowed on the property at any time for any amount of time.

SECURITY CAMERAS - There are two outdoor security cameras on the property: 1) near the front door and front parking area and 2) one in the back courtyard area

There are 2 pictures from different angles with the bedrooms and it is not 3 full beds it's a small pull out sofa bed.. To say the least the house was disgusting and dirty. I have more pictures I was not able to upload but under the beds were full of bugs and dirt. The beds were shaky and not put together well... very uncomfortable. From my family to yours I would not recommend we would have been better staying at the motel 6. Much cleaner and more accommodating. This was the worst air b n b we have stayed at and so not worth the price they were asking! "

Cute and cozy home in a quiet neighborhood just minutes from quirky downtown and historic hot springs. A large backyard with gas grill and firepit is a wonderful place to gather and create memories. Stargazing is surprisingly good here. Many different bird species have been known to stop by for a visit as well! A fully stocked kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals. Linens and towels are provided. Main home has reliable WiFi for business or pleasure. The main house has two bedrooms with one queen and one double and a full bathroom. The bunkhouse in the back has a king size bed. There is another bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet in the laundry room out back. The washer and dryer are available for guest use as well.
You can bring your boat or RV, because there is plenty of parking space available for either! Elephant Butte Lake is only 5 miles away and offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and picnicking.
