We were there to see the Rotary Lights in the park which was right outside of the hotel. We walked to the Freight House for a wonderful dinner and then walked around the park to enjoy the lights display. After seeing the view of the Mississippi River, I asked if our room had a view. He stated we requested a king which had a city view but he could move us to a double queen with a river view. Hubby and I rented the presidential suite for a quiet evening away from the kids, and we left feeling SO refreshed. The main reason I picked this hotel was because of the excellent customer rating on hotels.com. Other people may overlook this hotel for that reason. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The associate who checked me in was very friendly, and helpful when I made inquiries as to where to go for dessert. Gave me two bar tokens instead of one when I jokingly asked for a second one. But right off the bat, she apologized for being on the phone when I walked up. She was clearly on a call with a guest. It's those little things that stand out. The room was charming. Had that lodge feel to it. Beautiful bathroom, well supplied with good soaps, etc. I had a nice drink in the bar (only used one token in the end :) Had a nice buffet breakfast the following morning."
