- "best apartment and most convenient apartment we've stayed in" - "We booked a 2 bedrooms apartment for the 3 of us. The apartment was spacious and nice view on the mountain. We had 2 bathroom which was great but unfortunately 1 of the heater was not functioning for half our stay so it was really cold to take a bath and we had to complain several times before they replaced the towels heater. They obviously knew the issue as they already ordered a new one. They never offered any compensation or to move us in another apartment. The ski room was super smelly and congested especially in the morning. That it was at the point I was feeling nauseous. Another downside was the spa area, way too small for the amount of guests. Only one small Hot tub always full. The sauna was super crowded that it made it impossible to use and same with the steam room that wasn't even hot enough and the eucalyptus was so strong it would make your eyes watering. So we only went once as it was not enjoyable. At Les Arcs 1800 there is almost nothing beside the residence and the hotel. Just 1 small Spar. For shopping, bars, restaurants you have to take the Dahu Lift that connect to Les Arcs 1600. We also drove to Les Arcs 1950 (about 20 min drive but totally worth it. Les Arcs 1950 is such a nice resort. Overall experience was okay but we won’t probably go back to this place."

- "Check in and out was really simple and overall staff were polite and helpful. Food isnt cordon bleu but theres a really good selection of entirely decent food in abundance. Its an alpine hotel so the rooms are small but that should be expected from anybody one their second ski trip or above. The hotel is very family oriented including evening kids activities in the bar so perhaps a bit off piste for stag / hen dos or lads / girls nights out. Otherwise its not super modern but the facilities all work. The food isnt gourmet but its all pretty good. Its entirely true that you get what you pay for so if you want a chef, butler, butcher, baker and candlestick maker then look elsewhere. We had a great stay!"

- "The apartment was ideal for our family of 6. It was less than a minute away from a major chairlift and a gondola lift. Ski storage was easily accessible once we figured out where it was. Breakfast could be ordered at reception which helped a lot. Gym, Sauna and steam rooms were a welcome addition for some of us. Have stayed in MGM-built accommodation with CGH three times before and know to expect a wonderful standard but this was probably our best experience yet. No shelves in the bedrooms. Had to live out of a suitcase for items that wouldn't go on hangers. Could do with ground level access for skiers/snowboarders instead of outside access below ground level. Awkward access with all equipment on. On British values this is a 3 star accommodation due to lack of company investment. No food available to purchase in the property. Bakery bread order every morning was good but pricey. "

Arc1950 was originally developed by the Canadian specialist, Intrawest (who also created the Whistler and Mont Tremblant resorts) between 2003 and 2007 in order to provide, for the first time, a high standard of self-catered accommodation in the French Alps. The traditional architecture of Arc 1950 is striking with a clear move away from the style of earlier developments. All the facilities of the village are right on your doorstep. Shops, bars and restaurants are all located on the village street level as are ski hire, ski school and lift pass office. There is also direct access into the residence from the underground secure car parking (payable locally). The Arc 1950 village itself is strictly car-free.
With the addition of the high speed “Vanoise Express” lift in late 2003, the resorts of Les Arcs and La Plagne are now linked to form the “Paradiski” domaine with over 450 km of pistes and many off-piste opportunities. It is possible to ski all the way to Champagny for lunch and back again before the lifts close. Truly a “ski-in, ski-out” location, access to the pistes from the apartment really couldn’t be easier - you can ski virtually from and right back to the locker room door.
