- "We stayed three weeks in this lovely and very comfortable chalet in Le Planay for a hiking holiday. The house is located in a tiny, lovely village with stunning views, just a few steps away from some wonderful hiking paths and the national park. The house is very well equipped, especially the kitchen. Everything was very clean when we arrived. Communicaton was easy and fast. The next supermarket (U-market) is 3o minutes away in Bourg-Saint-Maurice. But since the house has got two big fridges with a lot of space in the freezers for storing bred etc. this wasn't a problem at all. We highly recommend this place, especially for families, and would love to come back anytime."

We rent a unique chalet by its location that we completely renovated in 2018. It is an old sheepfold dating from 1874 inhabited by "the old lady with hens". We have converted it into two independent apartments of 110 m2 each.
It is located at the bottom of the hiding track, still snow-covered thanks to numerous snow cannons.
You leave and arrive on skis in front of the chalet. Children can descend to the ski school by an easy slope in 30 seconds.
The village of Arc 1600 and its shops can be reached in 5 minutes on foot as well as the funicular which allows you to connect Bourg Saint Maurice.
We welcome you personally on your arrival, your luggage and your groceries will be transported by us in a caterpillar. The most tired can also enjoy it.

You will ski one of the largest ski area in Europe: Les Arcs linked to La Plagne to form PARADISKI. Chalet Sterwen is centrally located 6km from three PARADISKI ski resorts with free ski shuttle.
Three practical options for skiing even with children:
1/ A free shuttle passes in front of the chalet for the funicular 6km away. The ascent to Arc 1600 lasts 7 minutes. Ski rental and ski storage are at the bottom, ski school at the top of the funicular. By car it’s flat and takes less than 10 minutes. There is a very large parking lot. Once organized with the ski locker, your trips will be quick and practical.
2/ You can drop off your children in less than 10 minutes by car at the Montchavin ski school 6km away, a family resort in the fir trees in La Plagne area. You can park easily at the top of the station.
3/ You’ll access the village skilift of Peisey 6km away which takes you to Vallandry, the center of Paradiski in 6 minutes with ski schools, kindergarden and ski rental. Our website explains everything in detail.
We operate weeks Sunday to Sunday. This saves you from Traffic and allows you to ski on Saturday, the quietest day on the slopes.

The charm of the old farm combines with modern comfort with an Eco concept in a restored 19th century farmhouse with plenty of space: 300m2, 6 bedrooms and mezzanine with en-suite bathroom and 6 WC. Two large bedrooms with 3 beds and one with mezzanine and 4 beds for a Total of 16 beds. Two large living rooms with fireplace for cozy evenings.

PARADISKI INFORMATION
Skiing at altitude and 626 snow cannons guarantee you quality skiing whatever the time of year. Two glaciers are part of the area, “Aiguille Rouge” and “Bellecôte”. The summit of the ski area at 3,250 m. Landry has an ideal location in the valley 800m at the foot of the enormous "Paradiski" ski area with 425 km of slopes and 140 lifts. 2 snow parks, 5 boarder crosses, 2 half-pipes.

This chalet can be catered or self catered. For those self catering the kitchen area is well equipped, large cooker with large oven, dishwasher, a small fridge and a larger fridge/freezer, plenty of room to work in and work space.
There is a washing machine and tumble dryer downstairs for your convenience.
A balcony off from the lounge allows you to sit out on the sunny days especially early evening later on in the season when you get full sun!
There is also a terrace out the back which has a table and chairs for outside dining during the summer months.
The chalet is in the lovely village of Peisey Nancroix with access directly to ski Les Arcs and La Plagne only 8 mins walk away (in ski boots).
The small superette is close by at 50m and there is a butchers, boulangerie and cheese shop a bit further on.

To get to the slopes, there are two options - you can take the steps down to the main road and there is a regular bus service to the ski lift - it takes 2 mins to get there.
The other option is to walk - it takes 8 mins - this can be made all the more pleasant (for kids especially) if you just rent ski equipment from Sport 2000 in Plan Peisey then you can just walk in normal boots to the ski lift (stand-up type lift) and collect gear directly from there!
