Sarah (the precious owner) and Giuseppe (front desk) went above and beyond providing services to navigate my travels. This took time and effort and it was so appreciated. The hotel: situated on top of a hill high enough to have a beautiful sea view, but able to walk to with bags from the port if needed. There is a free pickup/ drop off, but I didn’t know until after i booked. The main attractions are walkable, 10-15 min away. The rooms have a modern decor. Very clean, great big towels, tile floors, great patio. I had a garden view- and it was so relaxing. The pool is amazing. If I had time, I’d lounge all day there! Lastly, the restaurant is one of the best on the island. Excellent food with an outdoor sea view setting to die for! I learned that this hotel has 2 other properties, one located on Vulcano called “Hotel Garden”. If you visit this island, it’s worth staying at this hotel for the service, the beautiful landscaped garden terrace, and the happy hour! Lastly, rent a scooter from the port and drive around the island at sunset! It only takes approximately 2 hours! You can’t go wrong with this hotel! It’s a special one worth staying. "

But Hotels.com needs to update its description, they don’t offer a free transfer service to the port any longer and it is not a swimming pool on the terrace but a thermal pool with waters from a local hot spring, which is simply wonderful! - "Room was comfortable, air conditioning worked well, and host even carried my heavy bag upstairs for me. There was nobody there when I arrived despite it being the check in hours. One thing I’ve realized after 2 weeks in Sicily is that the norm is for the hosts not to be present, so if you want more privacy and freedom that’s good. If you need lots of assistance might not be so good. But that’s been overall all over the islands. But when I arrived I had to call them and wait 5-10 minutes for them to arrive. In my experience also almost no English was spoken, but we managed to communicate and make things happen, and that was enough for me. I also enjoyed the privacy. There’s no breakfast included or available to purchase, you have to make your own arrangements. "
