- "We stayed in Residence dei Margi 3 nights. The staff was great especially Tony who was very helpful and assisted all our requests. We had 2 bedrooms suite with a terrace next to the pool. The apartment was very spacious and clean. It included a small kitchen, dishwasher and a washing machine. Very convinent for family of 4-6. The pool was great with nice views. Parking is free. The area also offered few nice restaurants and 20 min drive from Messina which is nice city in Sicily. We drove thru the south of Italy and took the ferry to Messina. Highly recommend the drive due beautiful scenery along the road. While staying in the residence sei Margi, we visited Syracuse, Catania and Taoromina. All beautiful touristic sites. Driving in Sicily is generally easy but when you get inside the little towns with small roads, it gets challenging. Make sure you are confident with your driving skills before renting a car. However, Sicily in general is driveable compared to Amalfi coast where we spent a week before thay. I dont recommend dricing there."

The house is in a quiet street close to the beaches, tennis courts, cafes and shops, very spacious, well equipped, AC in all rooms and kitchen (four of these altogether), IKEA furniture (in good condition), all as in photos. The kitchen (when we arrived) had bottled water, coffee, tea, oils etc, all bathroom supplies, so we also left a lot of our unused stuff there. The enclosed garden/terrace is very nice, with a high degree of privacy (partly exposed to the neighbouring building, but rarely someone is there). Special treat is the open air shower hidden by the shed (I only used that one). If I try hard to recall something which was not ideal, then I'd say that occasionally we could hear some domestic animals around, but that was all good fun. Torre Faro is a lovely village, bit basic (this is not Tuscany) but very charming. The beaches and the sea are perfectly clean (water may move veeeery fast, watch out if you have children). We were there for two weeks in September, out of main season, hence very few tourists around at that time, must be busier in August. Restaurants are all with brilliant food and very sensible prices, 99% attended by locals. We arrived very late (after 1 am), the property manager waited for us and was pleasant and helpful. She speaks zero English, but we managed to communicate key things. You will not make a mistake if you stay in this property. I can't judge value for money because I did not stay in other places in NE Sicily, but if I visit it again, I will look for this house. Pistachio ice-cream on the square by the church not to be missed. Best granita combinations are coffee/cream and pistachio/strawberry. Messina is half an hour by bus, the University (where I was going every day) is 10min away. Etna is two hours by car, if you can't make that, then at least go to Vulcano island by the speedboat, interesting stuff these vulcanos. Sicily is also a cyclists' paradise (can be bit dangerous, but fantastic scenery)."

It is only a 20-minute drive from Milazzo, the renowned location where hydrofoils leave for the Aeolian islands.
The village is far from worldliness and mass tourism, but equipped with all comforts.
There are bars, restaurants, 2 equipped beaches and kilometers of free and unspoiled beaches.
Near Rodia there are several tourist visits to do: going towards Messina (passing by the coast) you will meet the two lakes of Ganzirri, where you can enjoy excellent local fish specialties. Shortly thereafter you meet Punta Faro, with its Pylon that seems to touch Calabria.
Half an hour by highway from Messina you reach the renowned Taormina, with Giardini Naxos and its scenographic Greek theater. Always close to Taormina you can spend a wonderful day visiting the Alcantara Gorges, and the typical village overlooking the sea, where they shot scenes from the film 'The Godfather', which is called Forza D'agro '.
Continuing on the highway, you cannot help but see the spectacular Etna Volcano on your right, one of the few still active in Italy. We recommend a day trip to visit it on foot or by jeep.
Continuing, you will find Acitrezza and Acireale (two wonderful fishing villages), and then go directly to Catania and then to the airport (from Rodia about 1h by car).
Going to Palermo, however, there are various places to visit: the Marinello lakes under the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Tindari, Santo Stefano di Camastra (famous for its wonderful ceramics), Cefalù and Capo D'Orlando, both seaside villages from absolutely visit.
Although not a social place, Rodia allows in less than an hour's drive to visit typical marine locations and more. Traveling by car, not on the coast but towards the hinterland, therefore on the mountains, you will have the opportunity to visit beautiful perched villages (Salice, Dinnamare and its sanctuary, The Nebrodi mountains etc.).
Even according to Rodia there is no lack of fun. The beaches on the beach always offer various activities, group games, for children, theme nights and water sports.
To reach Rodia, arriving by plane, you can choose two airports: Fontanarossa airport in Catania (1h by car) or the airport of the Strait of Reggio Calabria (10 min by car and 20 min by ferry to get to Messina).

Unfortunatly the warm water wasn't working but she did EVERYTHING to make it work and after two days it worked again, wich was very great. Now let's get to the Appartement itself.The Balcony is obviously the highlight of the apartment and it didn't disappoint us for sure. The decoration fits perfectly together. The kitchen is good, you have everything you need. A Smart TV would have been great to acces Youtube f.E. but that wasn't soo tremendous. The area is great too there. There is a lovely little Fast food restaurant directly across the street. It's called "Pitoneria Portella Sant’Agata" it has great traditional food from Sicily and is also supriseingly cheap. Torre farro with the pylon is a highlight too there and definitely a worth visit. You can ask her kindly and she can recommend u plenty of great spots around the area and on Sicily too, (f.E the Etna or "Gole dell'Alcantara - Ingresso comunale" (type that in on google maps and dont go to the touristy thing becuse it's a waste of money and bring some water shoes and swimming trunks with you for a great Experience). Overall we had a great Experience there and we are looking forward to go back there in the future for sure."

The property sits directly on the beach with a magnificent view of the Straits of Messina. They have their own private beach and provide umbrellas and chairs. We would go back again.
