Holland Hideaway is the perfect destination to spend time with family or friends creating lasting memories! Our renovated and spacious home has a comfy feel with a modern spin. The lower level offers a large open living space including a well appointed kitchen, dining area that seats 12+ using the large gathering table and island. Attached 3 season porch welcomes you for your morning cup of coffee or after dinner glass of wine. This is also where you find the all season hot tub. For sleeping, the lower level includes a large master bedroom suite with a king size bed, and a bunk room with a twin over full set up.

The upper level is a large family room with a television, fireplace, arcade basketball game and lots of room for playing any of the many board games provided. Adjacent to this family room are 3 large bedrooms; 2 with queen size beds (one of these had attached full bathroom) and one with 4 twin beds.

The garage has been converted to a game room/bar area. Here you can cap off your day playing pool, watching a sporting event, or visiting with friends. Open the garage door on a nice day, and spread out the lawn chairs on the driveway to expand the "Man-Cave" or "She-Shed." The backyard is equipped with a built-in firepit and numerous Adirondack chairs. If you have little ones in your group, you'll appreciate the play structure we've provided for them :)

Our home itself is located in a quiet neighborhood with sidewalks for walking or running, or venture to the Sanctuary Woods Preserve located a short distance from our doorstep for a beautiful day of hiking. In under 10 minutes, you can be at Laketown Beach on Lake Michigan to spend the day in the sun or bring a bottle of wine and catch the perfect sunset! This historic community is located on a jewel of a peninsula surrounded by the majestic waters of Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa. In the north and central sections, cottagers park in nearby private parking lots, keeping the association's walks and beach front serene and safe for young children, adults and kids pulling wagons (with groceries) to their cottage, and strolling down the many walks.

Beach/Swimming: There is swimming on Lake Michigan, which is a ¼ mile away. You can only access the private beach by walking. There is no parking allowed near the beach. There is a beach “rolling” wagon for guests to place goodies/cooler in to travel down to the beach and beach chairs available. You will walk through the Macatawa gateway which is 1 block away, check in with the gate attendant and then proceed down to the beach.

Cable/Satellite TVs: On the upper floor of the home, there is a TV/DVD combination with cable. If you don't have one, no worries, just give us a call and we will provide you with one for your stay.

Cell phone service: Verizon is good…everything else a bit sketchy…Use wi-fi calling.

Smoking: No smoking allowed of any kind, on the property. Due to the close proximity of the neighbors, it is strictly prohibited.

Snowmobiling: Not the ideal place for snowmobiling. Cannot ride from house to trails. Best to leave those home and enjoy the amazing views of Lake Macatawa!

In lieu of the Accidental Damage Waiver, if you would prefer to mail a $1500 check in lieu of the accidental damage waiver, you may do so as your refundable security deposit. Upon inspection of the home, we will refund the balance after deducting any damage that occurred during your stay.

Cleaning Fees Explained:
a. Cleaning fees booked directly through Freshwater Vacation Rentals are NOT taxable. (This is a way to save you $$.)
b, Even though our room rate is generally less per night during the Spring, Fall and Winter, no one wants the cleaning quality to decrease.
c. We expect our cleaners to clean at the same level they would for the Peak Summer season, year-round.
d. We pay our cleaners a living wage. They deep clean, wash all the linens and prep each bed, regardless of how many people are on the reservation.

a. When a couple is staying at a large house, and using only 25% of it, do they really want the home cleaned only 25%? Of course not.
b. When considering how many beds will be used, there are many variables-- Who are couples? Just friends? Family? Do all couples sleep in the same bed? Who snores?

With Holland State Park and its sugar sand Lake Michigan beaches a short walk away, there’s never a hassle parking, paying, or waiting in lines.

Simply pack the two over-sized beach wagons with your kids, gear, cooler, Bluetooth speaker (all gear provided, except for kids!) and stroll the boardwalk to the Lake Michigan neighborhood association beach. Use the map below to get a bird’s eye view of just how close the beach, and other local amenities, are to where you will be staying.

And if walking 10 minutes to Lake Michigan is too far, Lake Macatawa is less than 5 minutes outside your door, with several fishing piers, boardwalks to stroll along, and a beach with stand-up paddle board rentals. There are also miles and miles of bike paths and local spots to rent your own kayaks, bikes, stand-up paddle boards, motor boats, and jet skis nearby.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day the historic Ottawa Beach General Store is a 2 min walk away for groceries, drinks, ice-cream and supplies. Dune Dogs hot dog and ice cream stand is also a 2 minute walk, and La Playa Mexican restaurant is a 5 min walk. If you pick-up groceries (or have them delivered via Shipt) it’s easy to not have to drive for days!

When you do want to get out and explore, picturesque Downtown Holland with all of its great shopping, dining, and sightseeing is a 15 minute drive away. Grand Haven and Saugatuck are around 30 minutes, and Grand Rapids around 45 minutes.

The beach house is very clean, well maintained, nicely furnished, and over-equipped for comfortable living and enjoying family time together. Each bed is newer and comfortable with clean high quality linens and towels. There’s central air to keep your group cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

There are five bedrooms and 3.5 baths. A master bed/bath is on the main floor, along with an extra half-bath off the kitchen. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath. Downstairs, is another 750 sq/ft of living space downstairs with a bedroom, full bathroom, kids room/playroom with bunks and a second family room with 65" TV and kitchenette. This home lives well!

The kitchen (on the main floor) is fully stocked, easily seats 6-8 plus some kids, and includes nearly everything you need to cook great meals (quality knives, pots/pans, silverware, dishes, cups, coffee maker, French press, etc.) along with a dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, oven, and a Weber gas grill and grill tools for the oversized patio.

Enjoy high speed internet/wifi, Sonos speakers in almost every room, and both TVs have Roku. Note: there are no TVs in bedrooms and this house doesn't not have cable - all TVs have a Roku for streaming your Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, etc. Gas fireplace in the winter, and in the summer, grill out on the patio.

Go to the beach with plenty of items in the garage, including two big beach wagons, kids’ toys, corn hole, Bluetooth speaker, umbrella, and much more. When you get back, there's a shower outside.

If you need it, there’s a huge top-of-the-line LG washer and dryer, iron, ironing board, and most other household appliances you might need.

This is our own personal family vacation home. We enjoy making family memories here with our four little girls and we’ve done our best to make it a comfortable, enjoyable, and special place. BEDROOMS ARE MADE WITH COMFORT IN MIND

Four beautiful themed bedrooms await you. The upstairs bedrooms have high definition televisions with free Xfinity Cable--just in case you need some quiet time away from friends and family. All four bedrooms have top quality king mattresses and WIRELESS PHONE CHARGERS on each night stand. The master bedroom (the HOLLAND room) has an en-suite with double sink and large rainfall shower with high windows and skylights. All shades in the master bedroom are controlled by remote controls. The MACATAWA and SAUGATUCK rooms have beautiful windows and furnishings. A full bathroom lies between these two bedrooms. The WOODLAND room in the den/ basement has a beautiful view of the surrounding woods. The bonus room has a twin over twin bunk bed. Another full bathroom is located between WOODLAND and the bonus room. Finally, 2 portable memory foam twin mattresses with linens are available if needed.

LAUNDRY IS NO PROBLEM

Although you are on vacation to relax sometimes you just need to run a quick load of laundry. We installed 2 washers and 2 dryers to help alleviate the congestion of a large group.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

We provide for all guests a two car garage with garage door openers! There is also ample parking in the driveway for additional vehicles should you need more space.

FUN STUFF TO DO? OF COURSE--IT'S HOLLAND!

The things we love the most about this home, besides the house itself, are the local accommodations. We have two full wooded acres and a stream in the far back of the property. Lots of wildlife, especially turkey, squirrels, deer, and woodpeckers, make our two acres their home. Walk up the street for a few hundred feet and you will find Sanctuary woods, a nature preserve with trails and bridges. In addition, there is a bike path directly in front of our home. You will see joggers and bikers and people walking their dogs most of the day. The bike trail network in the Holland area is extensive and runs for many many miles in all directions. Bike rentals are available locally, and the marina is just a one minute drive north. There you can rent slips for even very large boats that you can take directly onto Lake Macatawa, or even Lake Michigan, which is just a stone's throw away from the shipyard. A boat rental company is adjacent to the shipyard. There you can rent boats (of all types), paddle boards, kayaks and more. Lake Michigan has limited public access sites, so we are fortunate to be a mere 6 minutes from Laketown Beach. A little drive will get you to larger parks--Saugatuck Dunes, Oval Beach, or Holland State Park. You can get to beautiful downtown 8th street Holland in less than 14 minutes and quaint downtown Saugatuck also in 14 minutes. Both places have fantastic restaurants and shopping. There are so many things to do and see in the Holland area! Please review our detailed welcome book for our personal choices for restaurants, entertainment, and more!

Our favorite place was the expansive back deck that overlooked the beautiful gardens. Deer and turkey wandered through regularly." - "Your home made our family's stay in Holland so perfect! The rec room in the basement was perfect for later hours my adult kids enjoyed together. 2 large washers & dryers came in handy toward the end of our stay when a few of us needed to wash a few things. Go to the Farmer's Market early in your stay for amazing produce! The natural gas grill on the deck was very nice for the 2 meals we cooked there. Everything about the back deck was amazing! The view, spaciousness, comfortable & abundant seating. The large table was perfect for our family meals outside. The home's location was convenient! Peacefully off the beaten path of downtown Holland, yet only a few minutes' drive away. Lots of easy parking there! A day trip to the State Park on the north side of the bay was less than 30min drive. Also only a few minutes drive from Naugatuck. So many opportunities for adventure - we didn't get them all in! Mac Adventures is essentially in walking distance & were so friendly for our boat & tube rental. Such a fun time! Thank you!"

The Harbor View Lofts are set in the top two floors of the former Piper Restaurant at Eldean Shipyard Marina and overlook the active marina.

A large Kitchen, Dining Area, and Living Room overlook the waterfront from the 2nd floor while a "Flying Bunk Room" give a birds eye view of the lake from atop the 3rd story. There are 3 waterside decks. Two master bedrooms, one 2nd and one on the 3rd floor, each have a deck off of the bedrooms. A main "grill" deck, also overlooks the Lake, and is located outside the second floor living room and is complete with a Weber gas grill and patio table & chairs. On the ground floor is a waterside patio/deck.

There is a shuffleboard table inside for fun and games!

Limited access is provided for use of the Eldean Marinas facilities during the summer season, including use of the Sand Volleyball Court, Pool/Hot tub use (maximum of 5 people at a time - no large groups), and use of the playground facilities. The pool and hot tubs are open Memorial Day Weekend through the weekend after Labor Day.

For the Boater, slips are available for an additional nightly fee at Eldean Shipyard. Kayaks, paddle boards, and pontoon boats are available to rent from MacAdventures.

Laketown Landing is a large, private, 1,800 square feet condo attached to a home that is spread across two levels. It is located close to Lakes Michigan and Macatawa (less than a mile to each of them) and is less than 15-minute drive to the picturesque downtowns of Holland, Saugatuck and Douglas. A handful of Lake Michigan beaches are also just a 10 to 20-minute drive away.

The main level has a large living room, kitchen, dining table, master bedroom with a king bed, one bathroom and a spare bedroom with a queen bed.

The lower level has a large bedroom beyond the door at the foot of the stairs with a queen sofa sleeper and a day bed and a trundle. There is also a spare bathroom; another bedroom with a king bed and a sleeper; and utility room where the washer and dryer are located. There is not a separate thermostat zone for the basement, and it runs about 10 degrees cooler as the main level.

A deck with a four-person dining set and a two-person bistro set is accessible off the kitchen through sliding glass doors. Steps from the deck lead to a spacious outdoor patio that has additional seating, a propane firepit table and a Weber grill! Both the patio and the deck are adorned with color-changing café lights and surrounded by a wooden fence for privacy.

The facility sleeps up to 12 depending on reservation.

Just 1/10th of a mile down the road, you'll find the Lake Macatawa beach and playground area. Around the corner, you'll be at the brand-new General Store where you'll find the best ice cream around or stop around the other corner, and you can treat yourself to a Dune Dog! The Mt Pisgah trailhead is only a few steps from the cottage and a walk through the woods and up 238 steps (yup--we counted 'em!) will bring you to vistas of Lake Macatawa, the Channel, Big Red and Lake Michigan!

The prime location of this new, first class, unique lakeside home in
the resort community of Macatawa makes it easy to relax. The
Bungalow is set on a spacious, well groomed lot overlooking the
active Lake Macatawa Harbor. The sandy beaches of Lake Michigan are
a lazy walk away. A 2nd floor wrap-around deck allows the luxury of
enjoying the pleasant summer evenings and the harbor activity.

The Bungalow is a modern cottage condo, attached to a private residence. It has all the comforts of home including a cozy kitchen fully equipped with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. The living room features a 20-foot ceiling and windows and deck overlooking the water. The 3 bedrooms, one with a king bed, one with a queen bed, and one bedroom with bunk beds, provide sleeping up to 7. Other features include 2 baths, 3 cable TV's, a washer and dryer, central air conditioning, a gas grill on the deck, and a 2 stall garage. A Ping Pong Table is located in the garage. All linens and bath towels are provided. This is a non-smoking unit and pets are not allowed. Wi-fi internet is included.

In addition to the Bungalow facilities, guests will have access to the exclusive Macatawa beach. The long, private, sandy beach is located on the western shore of Lake Michigan and stretches as far as you can see. The "Big Red" lighthouse that marks the Holland Harbor Channel stands proud at the North end of Macatawa Beach.

For the Boater, slips are available to rent next door at Eldean
Shipyard.

- "Perfect! Beautifully remodeled turn of the century cottage. 4 bedrooms 2 full baths and really nice well equipped kitchen. Very Clean! Provided fans for upstairs bedrooms. Nice deck and front porch with views of the marina and down the inland lake, perfect for the fireworks viewing. Con: the listing said that there was beach access to the Macatawa (Lake Michigan) Beach. BUT.. there are disagreements between the ElDean Shipyard owners (which own the cottage) and the Macatawa Home Owners Association as to whom may have right of way access to the path to the beach. The path sits on private property but the beach is public, with out any other land access. The pool across the street is for the Shipyard Members. The cottage Does Not come with access, can’t even buy a day pass…weird since the owners own both the cottage and the shipyard. Just be aware. Otherwise this was perfect for our needs for the 4th of July."

Across the street from Eldean's Shipyard, you will not be disappointed in this location.Vacation within walking distance of Big Red Lighthouse and private access to one of the most highly coveted beaches in all of West Michigan. The home next door is also available!
1.) No smoking. All of our rentals are non-smoking. 2.) You and your guests are using our home at your own risk. We nor the owner of the property will be held responsible for any injuries that occur at the vacation rental or for any lost or stolen items. 3.) Do not move the furniture. 4.) Each cottage has a maximum number of guests that is listed on this contract you must verify that it is correct. That number is not to be exceeded - this includes children and adults. For fire safety, we are required to limit the number in each home. If additional people are found to be staying at the cottage the entire group will be asked to vacate with no refund. Inflatable mattresses or alternative sleeping other than pack n plays or cribs are not allowed. Tents are also not allowed on the property. 5.) Cleaners will come to the cottage after you have departed - they will not visit to clean, change linens, or replace towels during your stay. 6.) Quiet time is 11pm-9am. We do not tolerate loud groups and college like parties anytime of the day or night. 7.) Weddings and formal events are NOT permitted on our properties, if there is found to be a formal event on the property the entire group will be asked to vacate the property with a no refund. It is acceptable to have a visitors during the day hours but that number can not be more than double the maximum occupancy of the cottage. 8.) Fireworks are prohibited on the property at all times.

This retreat comfortably accommodates up to 16 guests in a spacious, multi-level cottage with two independent entrances. The first level features an independent guest space with two queen bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a full bath, and a cozy living/dining area opening to a spacious deck overlooking the wooded dune. This space has a private entrance. Exterior stairs lead to the upper-level accommodations with a separate entrance.

The spacious first floor provides plenty of communal space for all to gather. The well-equipped kitchen with stainless appliances opens to the dining area positioned just inside the sliders leading to another roomy deck overlooking the picturesque dune with views of Lake Macatawa. The roomy living room features ample seating and a flat-screen TV. A half bath and laundry can be found on this floor as well.

Wander to the next level where you will find a floor of bedrooms, including the primary suite complete with a queen bed, attached bath, and walk-in shower. An additional bedroom on this floor has a queen bed and a twin daybed with trundle. The connecting hallway leads to an additional deck. Once you reach the top floor, you will find a perfect hangout space for kids and adults alike. This floor features plenty of sleeping options with a twin over full bunk and a twin daybed with trundle. Kids will love the TV area with bean bag chairs and views from this floor's additional deck.
