Very secluded log cabin in Putnam Valley, only 1 hour north of NYC. Great room has 23 ft ceilings view of the woods and a lake. With 4 bedrooms, including 3 queen beds and 1 twin bed, plus a large loft where you can have extra sleeping area. This is a great a cozy getaway. The full 4 bathrooms offer amenities like a jetted bathtub and hair dryers, ensuring a relaxing and comfortable stay. Additionally, there are 2 additional spaces, living room with sofa bed. Large gas BBQ and an outdoor BBQ with lots of outdoor chairs for enjoying the fresh air. There is a canoe and 3 kayaks for fun on the lake.
The house is surrounded by state forrest, no neighbors so it is perfect to get away rest and recharge. There is a small stream and a lake in front of the house that is part of the State forrest.

The space
Set in the idyllic mountains of the Hudson Valley you can enjoy views of the lush greenery and breathtaking sunsets from the main living room. With 32 feet of window that spans across the whole upper floor it's easy to bring the outdoors inside. Or choose to melt the days away on the 1400sqft deck with plenty of room for entertaining or the backyard.

- A fully equipped custom kitchen perfect for entertaining and feeding large families. High ceilings with skylight, heated floors and a large butcher block island.

- The living room is equipped with a gas fireplace (controlled by remote), has a 65 inch smart tv with all the apps needed for your favorite shows and premium cable.

- Downstairs is the second living room and office space. This room also has a 65" smart TV (no cable but all the apps) and a wood burning fireplace. Additionally the bedroom downstairs is equipped with a king bed and acts as a second primary.

- The gym downstairs is equipped with an infrared sauna, pull up bar, and recovery tools.

- Lake Oscawana is a few minute drive from the house and is a private lake with a beach great for swimming or relaxing. We provide parking passes for beach access.

120 year old stone home in the woods with a seasonal view of the Northern ridgeline. This is a No Smoking home that's situated on 90 acres. Its a secluded private location, not far from several towns such as Beacon, Cold spring, Carmel and Mahopac that have all your necessities. Miles upon miles of hiking trails begin just 2 miles to the west in Fahnestock State Park which also has summer boat rentals, beach and a winter park for snow activities such as xcountry skiing, sledding and snowshoeing. There is some limited snowshoeing on property when the conditions permit. Limited hiking is permitted on the property when permission is granted, inquire for details.
Located in the Historic Hudson Valley you are close to many actvities including, Breakneck Mountain, Historic Cold Spring, Beacon, Bear Mountain State Park, Westpoint Military Academy, Thunder Ridge skiing, Ninham Mountain, White Pond Multiple Use Areas, and the Hudson Highlands State Park. Other nearby attractions include Chuang Yen Monastery, Boscobel, Glynwood Gardens, Constitution Marsh and Breakneck Ridge. The Lodge is a magical country escape just one hour from NYC. With its open floor plan, high ceilings and furniture meant for melting into, it's the perfect spot to relax and unwind with family and friends. Enjoy your morning coffee on the screen porch while listening to the sounds of the babbling brook. Gather around the fire pit for s'mores, laughs and sounds of the forest. With three living rooms and six bedrooms, there's plenty of space for everyone to have a good time and have privacy. Please note we CANNOT allow pets - we have a severe dog allergy in the family. The house is on 2.5 private acres and includes a private wooded area behind that you can hike if you wish. We recommend bringing hiking shoes or sneakers because it's a little steep and can be muddy! You can also take a stroll on our very private road up to a gorgeous view and along the brook. Just turn left outside the house and walk around the road barrier and up.

For perfect sunsets, we've built "sunset ridge". This is an elevated sitting area on the hill behind our house with chairs and a beautiful stone wall where you can see all the colors as the sun goes down on your relaxing day.

The Lodge has four official bedrooms (2 king rooms, a room with 2 twins, and a queen room) + a loft area that offers privacy and plenty of cozy spaces to lay down. Additionally, we have a "Zen Den" on the lower level that has a full couch and is a great spot for meditation, reading, playtime and naps. Any questions on this, just shoot us a message.

We also have three living rooms — the light and airy movie/yoga/office space in the loft upstairs, the "conversation pit" on the main floor, and another living room + TV on the lower level. Both living rooms on the upper levels are fit with skylights that provide plenty of natural light.

The lower level can function as it's own self-contained apartment with 2 full bedrooms, the "Zen Den" bedroom, a full bathroom and living room. There is easy in/out access from the lower level through the laundry room and into the garage.

- "My extended family of 9 and I stayed here for several days and had a pleasant experience. The layout is great for large groups with 3 bedrooms on the lower level, 3 bedrooms on the main floor and a huge loft upstairs. There was plenty of room for people to spread out without being on top of each other. There were also a lot of nice personal touches in the home and it was very clean. Worth being aware of is there are a fair amount of stairs if you have older family members, but the ground floor does have a sizeable bedroom and kitchen of its own. There is also a neighbor's cat that likes to hang around (mentioned in the listing). However, he did sneak in and wasn't the friendliest when we had to move him."

Lovely year round house on the shores of Lake Oscawana in Putnam County, just 1h 15m from NYC, and very close to Fahnestock State Park for stunning hikes. The views and tranquility are wonderful, and the house is very cosy.

Entering from street level, the dining room, living room, kitchen and deck are all accessible with no stairs. There is one King bedroom (en suite) and one Queen with another bathroom upstairs; downstairs there is a Queen and a family room with two Twins and two Trundles.

There are plenty of hiking trails in the area such as the 3.8 mile Bear Mountain trail which has the best views of Hudson Valley being that it is 1,154 ft high. Fahnstock State Park, with over 14k acres is a short drive away and has 4 ponds and two lakes, one with canoe rentals available.

The Buddhist Chuang Yen Monastery is nearby on Rt. 301. It houses the largest Buddha Statue in the Western hemisphere as well as the largest Buddhist library in the world.

My family and I had a great time enjoying the game room in the home, the quick walk to a nice playground for the kids to get some energy out, and appreciated access to the sporting equipment found in the basement area. We also really appreciated that the home was well-stocked with linens, towels, chairs etc. along with other thoughtful items of convenience (which we have sometimes found lacking when renting other houses). The whole house was clean and looked as it does in the pictures. Would love to come back for a summer stay to utilize the lake area, but it was still very pretty to look at out the window! The host was responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this property!"

The Cottage by the Lake is a cozy, secret get-away on the scenic banks of the Croton Watershed. About an hour from NYC, it’s on the property of an 1850 farmhouse. Surrounded by nature, a vegetable garden and big open areas with phenomenal views, the property has a seasonal pool with a lounge area and a Zen garden. Enjoy everything that the Hudson Valley offers including parks, towns, country shops, galleries, antique shops, restaurants and vineyards. Watercolors by the owner are displayed on the walls and available for purchase.
THE SPACE
The Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen & bath, cathedral ceiling, working fireplace & a spiral staircase leading to a cozy sleeping loft for two.
The main floor sofa opens into a full-size bed for a 3rd /4th guest. The private patio offers tranquil views of the lake, fire pit and gas bbq grill, the perfect place to unwind with your favorite beverage. BREAKFAST
The house-made specialty breakfast is included in the price of each Friday & Saturday night's stay and available for an additional cost Sunday thru Thursday -- $16 per day for each adult, $10/day for each child. Food is prepared with fresh seasonal vegetables/fruits and herbs form our garden.
THE LAKE/RESERVOIR
The scenic beauty of the lakeside views are breathtaking in every season. Enjoy a relaxing stroll through our vegetable garden. Amble or jog along Maple Road, which hugs the lake for over 2 miles. Important to know: the water is protected by the town of Southeast, the only recreation permitted is fishing with a permit. On chilly days, warm yourself by the functioning wood-burning stove. There is firewood available. Skewers and the makings of S’mores are provided. The patio offers comfortable Adirondack chairs and a gas fueled bbq grill.
PETS
The Cottage by the Lake welcomes dogs on a case-by-case basis, but never more than two dogs for any reservation. Other pets are also welcome. There is a large fenced-in area around the pool for your friendly canine to run, be aware of small gaps under the fence, supervision of pets is essential. Scenic Maple Road on which the Cottage is situated is a favorite of dog walkers, joggers and bicycle enthusiasts.Please advise us in advance if you plan to bring your dog.

POOL/TRAILS
The Cottage is just a short distance from the entrance to Putnam County’s extensive bike trails. The mineral springs swimming pool is available dependent on season, weather and house rules, which allow guest usage of the pool for 6 hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. For safety, sanitary reasons and integrity of the vinyl liner, pets are not allowed to swim in the pool.

You can also just sit back and enjoy a good book. At days end you will want to be back on the deck with your favorite beverage. You will have a front row seat for the most beautiful sunsets. THE PROPERTY: Located on W Lake Blvd, the house cannot be missed. The private parking can easily accommodate up to 6 vehicles.

MAIN FLOOR: The main floor includes a king bed bedroom, as well as a full bathroom. Also, the kitchen, living room, dining area, and game room are all on the main floor. The well-equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances and all that you need to prepare meals (pots, pans, utensils, dishes, and more). For coffee lovers, we have a K-cup. Please bring your own favorite blend. The wood dining table can seat you and your friends.

UPPER FLOOR: Upstairs you will find two queen size bedrooms. There is also one large bedroom (kid’s hangout) which has a couch, TV, 1 full-size bed, and 5 twin size beds (two bunkbeds). Also on the floor is a full bathroom.

ENTRY/EXIT: We have a coded a keypad for easy access self-check-in and check-out. A house caretaker lives nearby and will be available in case of any issues or questions.

GETTING THERE: Just located within 60 minutes (driving) from Manhattan with lots of great local shopping, dining, and hiking. The home is accessible via Metro North (Croton Falls Station) from Grand Central Station. Once at the station, the house is a short taxi/Uber away. Once at the house, you can also take a Taxi/Uber to all the adventures and activities in the area with local hiking, shopping, and incredible restaurants to explore.

- "The house is beautifully designed and decorated. Very functional and cozy! " - "The house was lovely and was thankful the pictures were accurate. Two challenges not apparent from the listing description. 1. When googling the location using Putnam Valley, it indicated 9 miles from our destination; however when you get the physical address after booking, it was 26 miles/(40 minutes) and caused much more time in the car than desired. Although a picturesque drive, many winding, bumpy roads that kept you at low speeds. 2. The bedroom needed for my elderly/mobility challenged mom was 2 flights of stairs and not ideal. Had a few very large ants in the house and couldn't figure out how to use the tv in the primary bedroom. Also, no tv in the main family room off the kitchen (which was on the 2nd floor and also not common). Not a big deal, but typically the primary family room would have a tv. Otherwise, the house was lovely. The owners did a nice job of updates as it is an older property."

- "This was possibly the worst place I have ever stayed. The host was unresponsive to the point where I missed an entire day- when he did respond he was very nice but also a little flippant about the position he put us in. There was no hot water, hand soap in place of dish soap, there are no lights in the backyard - at all! He told us to use candles. The bathroom was dirty, no lights in the living room, fan did not work, light switches abound that do not work, there were dirty Dishes in the sink, one of the beds was a toddler bed, the other twin bed was atop a very very rickety loft bunk bed and the house smelled like mold. When we reached out to the host he told us we were s*it out of luck with the pool and that someone would go the next day - no one ever came. The dryer handle was a wrench and the pool pump was two live wires attached to an extension cord (which the host told my Friend to pull and caused it to spark.) Also there is absolutely no privacy as there are No doors separating the spaces and the one door there was was broken. Do not stay here."

It had a well equipped kitchen and dining area, along with comfortable bedrooms and a large family room upstairs. The house was in great shape and looked almost new! The location was excellent for us, with many great places to eat, easy access to grocery shopping, highways and trains. The yard was large, with a good view of lake, and we made use of the gas grill on the deck. The hosts were great through the entire process and responsive to all our needs. On our second day, we had family coming over and we asked our host if there were any leaves for the dining room table. I reached out to the hosts, and within 30 minutes we had the leaves to the dining room table. We enjoyed our vacation and would definitely stay again!"
