The unit has 2 beach passes, there is street parking for the beach. Only residents are allowed to park in the town parking lot. The house is located about 1 mile from the beach, so it is a pleasant walk along the seawall.

There are several dining spots within walking distance of this unit- from casual Crazy Burger and PJ's Pub to the elegant Coast Guard House and outdoor dining at Trio's. There is a playground with fenced in children's area, a lighted basketball court and a ball field around the corner from the house. There are 3 children friendly restaurants near the playground- PJ's Pub which has a lively sports bar with a versatile menu. The Bike Stop, which is decorated with bicycles and movies of biking, has a varied menu and great pizza. The Crazy Burger is busy morning,noon, and night, people sit out on the sidewalk waiting to get in, it is a BYOB. It has been featured in the TV show Diner, Dives and Drive Ins. It has out door seating and has an eclectic menu. Farther down the street, but certainly within walking distance are Trio's, Turtle Soup (overlooking the water) and the famous Coast Guard House, which has an upstairs deck for cocktails and dining- these are a little more upscale but still casual.

This area is the "town" -- there are little shops and an ice cream store. The town library is there too and offers story hours, day time movies, and other community events. On Friday nights in the summer, there are free concerts at the "Gazebo" in the center of town, people bring there own chairs and refreshments and enjoy the view of the ocean and listen to the bands. The Towers hosts a couples "dance night" on Thursdays and that is open to the public. There are various festivals and art shows during the summer in the park and the famous "Blessing of the Fleet" 10K road race and festival on the 3rd weekend in July. Everything is centrally located and very enjoyable for people of all ages.

Two blocks from the house at the beginning the seawall is Monahan's Dock. There is always a line for traditional chowder and clamcakes and the usual clam shack fare. They also have an ice cream bar and outside seating overlooking Monahan's Dock and Narragansett Bay. A perfect place to grab a bite to eat after a walk along the seawall.

There are lots of places to explore by car,-----Watch Hill (30 minutes), Village of Wickford (15 minutes), Jamestown (15 minutes) , and Newport (30 minutes) and Providence and its spectacular Water Fire and famous Federal Hill is 45 minute. All fun and easy destinations.

Inside the home, it was nicely decorated and appointed with everything we needed. We especially appreciated the air conditioners, washer/dryer, and the kitchen and bathroom that were all very modern and updated. The host stocked every tool to use the large grill on the back deck with patio funiture to eat outside. As well as for cooking inside, even with a large lobster pot that came in very handy being so close to the Point Judith, Rhode Island docks where we purchased our fresh seafood catch right off the boats! Since we cook many meals, we were impressd by the assortment and quality of appliances, the coffee nook, dishes, glasses, pot, pans, and every utencil we used. This newly renovated two bedroom, one bath cottage is right out of a magazine and just a stone's throw from Roger Wheeler State Beach/Sand Hill Cove, one of New England's most beautiful beaches and overlooking Block Island Sound. The home is equipped with everything you will need for your stay down to the Lobster Pot and crackers. A nice outdoor patio and fire pit is a perfect place to wind down and relax after a day at the beach.

Not only can you walk to the beach but this property is within a short walk of the famous fishing port of Galilee where there are a number of quintessential Rhode Island seafood restaurants, fish markets and more. Also located in Galilee is the Block Island Ferry where you can hitch a ride to the gorgeous Island and explore all that it has to offer. There are a number of other beach options in the area including Scarborough State Beach & Narragansett Town Beach, both just a short drive as well as enjoying the Narragansett Pier where there are a number of restaurants, shops and the Historic Narragansett Towers.

Please note during the summer season (late June - Labor Day), this property requires a seven-night minimum, and a four-night minimum in early June. Check-in is no earlier than 3:00 Pm on Saturday and check-out is no later than 10:00 Am the following Saturday.

Commercially laundered linen packages are provided for the occupancy of the property. This includes linens, a towel set (bath towel, hand towel and facecloth) for each occupant, hand towel and bath mat for each bathroom and kitchen towels. Beach towels are not provided unless otherwise specified on the listing. Guests staying for more than one week will incur an additional linen charge. - "This super cute, beachy home was absolutely perfect for my family of 3. Super close to the beach. My husband and I walked down to the ferry and it took us just under 15mins (where we picked up fresh caught lobster!). The beds were incredibly comfortable. It was so helpful to have sheets/pillowcases (and towels!) provided to us. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and we made sure to make use of the huge lobster pot! The living area was cozy and suuuper comfy. It was absolutely wonderful to have a washer/dryer available and we loved having the bathroom a bit away from the living space to help with privacy. Both the indoor and outdoor showers had great water pressure with perfect temps & the outdoor shower was large enough to have your towels inside and not get wet. We loved having a backyard as we played some Putterball and badminton. The grill was on the smaller side but we didn't need anything more than what was provided. The outdoor fire pit was just an added bonus with the comfy seating and pillows. We rarely had to use the A/C unit because the breeze was beautiful. We opened all the windows and doors to let the cross breeze flow. Perhaps one of the only suggestions would be to have screen doors put in to eliminate the potential of bugs flying indoors. We loved having the keyless entry because we never had to bring a key with us for fear we'd lose it. We worked with Sunrise Properties for this location and after a bit of email communication confusion, a question that we had difficulty getting answered was eventually answered quickly and kindly. I would highly recommend working with Sunrise Properties to anyone and we hope to rent through them again next Summer!!"
