Dogs must stay on cabin property. If dog likes to wander please keep them leashed or on a dog run.

- Please contact us with info regarding pets before arriving.

- No pets allowed on furniture. If evidence of pets on furniture cleaners will charge us and we will charge the guest.

- please use provided towels by entrances to dry pets before they come inside.

--> No parking on the road.

--> IMPORTANT: No boats over 25` are allowed. Please keep in mind that the lake is shallower compared to bigger lakes. Big boats that sit deeper in the water are not recommended. (pontoons, fishing boats and jet skis are recommended).

Make sure you come in through the Washington side of the lake. If you come in through Stoddard you will have to turn around and go all the way around the lake.

The property is located 3 miles down an improved dirt road.

--> Make sure to bring your groceries on the way in as the nearest grocery store is 30 mins away in Hillsborough and there is a convenience store 15 min away in Washington.

Property is located near the original founding church of the Seventh Day Adventists and is near many beautiful lakes and ponds including Pillsbury State Forest and Mt Sunapee State forest. Natural beauty abounds including an abundance of wildlife, deer, bear, moose, and wonderful hiking trails. The house is located on the Monadnock/ Sunapee Greenway Trail and is 18 miles from Lake and Mt Sunapee Ski area, and is close to Pat's Peak and Crotched Mountain and is an hour and a half drive to Killington ski area. - "My family, I, and two dogs had a wonderful stay at the cottage. It was spacious enough for 4 adults that we weren't on top of each other. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking just about anything. Very thoughtful of the owners to provide as many things as possible to make the stay very comfortable. The area is very serene, and beautiful. The lake is gorgeous. Just a heads up if you have elderly relatives or friends visiting you'll need a car to drive to the lake. The lakefront is private and for 2 days we were the only ones swimming in it. A cute convenience store in town is 4 minutes away for basic essentials and food. Shaws is 20 minutes away. We had a lovely time looking at the stars at night and relaxing in the lake during the day."

Relaxing waterfront cottage on Highland Lake in Stoddard. Beautiful lake views from every room. Probably one of the best locations on the lake, with 282 feet of water frontage and end-of-the-road privacy. Faces west for all day sun and spectacular sunsets. Sandy shallow section in water for little ones plus a nice big dock for your boat. Great swimming and floating area on the beach and off the dock. Please read our reviews to understand the spectacular aspects of this home. We provide a canoe, paddles, and life jackets free for your use and can deliver a rowboat for a small fee. Small general store in town for last minute provisions, and the lake has a nice little marina with friendly hosts. Enjoy the serenity on this quiet, pretty lake in the wonderful Monadnock Region of NH.

Highland Lake is over 7 miles long. The home and spacious yard represent a perfect place to relax and unwind looking out at this peaceful lake. On any given day you will see kayakers, canoe travelers, and paddle boarders, and an occasional waterskier. Not to mention fishermen young and old catching large and small mouth bass! Several families of loons, some eagles, and a blue heron call this lake their home and you'll almost certainly see them during your stay.

If you would like to explore the area, the towns of Hancock and Peterborough are 20-25 minutes away, and Keene has all the stores you need if that's your thing. Mt. Monadnock is roughly a half hour away, and the best blueberry picking can be found at Pitcher Mountain, within a 5 min drive. The Harris Center in Hancock is worth a trip, or see the Scottish Highlanders on your way to Pitcher Mt. for a hike and view that's unsurpassed in this area.

There is a master bedroom with a queen bed and another bedroom with two twins, and clean, simple, modern amenities.

- "We were looking for a Spring vacation getaway on a lake with views, water access and a canoe. These requirements were all met at this lake front home. The canoe was in great condition and while paddles were available, we brought our own. The dock was solid and well maintained. We caught fish both in the lake and off the dock. The road access concerns from previous reviews have been remedied. We like to cook while away and thoroughly enjoyed cooking on the Wolf gas stove. The cookware was sufficient for our needs. Plan to bring your own spices and small pantry items. We left some items for the next guest. A teapot would have been useful, and the owner is addressing this. He is also addressing the small repair needed for the gas grill. The beds were comfortable, and bathrooms were clean. As it was early May we did need to use the heat in the evening and the heating units quickly warmed us up. The communication with the owner, Tim, was excellent and he checked in on us often. We plan on returning to this lake front home with our puppy in tow."

Our lakefront home is located within a private association in beautiful Washington, NH. Our home was constructed with locally sourced wood timbers and beams, giving it a warm, farmhouse type feel. Guests can relax and enjoy westerly waterfront views while sitting on the deck or at our private beach. LIVING ROOM:
The kitchen overlooks the living room complete with a wood-burning fireplace, large comfy couches and chairs, and a wall of windows that bring the outside in. The home is complete with wireless internet, Sonos, HD flat-screen TVs(2), and a Blu-ray DVD player. Unfortunately, we do not have cable TV...but there is plenty that you can stream.

BEDROOMS:
The over-sized master bedroom features a queen bed, a private bathroom with granite counter tops and a custom built stone shower. The second bedroom is located upstairs, down the hall from the master bedroom, and has 2 sets of bunk beds that will comfortably sleep four adults and a queen bed that will sleep two. The guest bathroom is located immediately to the right of the second bedroom and appointed in the same fashion as the master bedroom bath. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and will sleep two adults. A rustic cabin themed bathroom is located just across the hall on the first floor.

GROUND LEVEL:
Continuing with the rustic theme of our home, this area is complete with pine bead board wainscoting and natural slate flooring..

We are dog owners, so pets are welcome for an additional fee. A separate pet disclosure form will be included as part of the rental agreement. The ski conditions were terrible but the home was great, and being on the frozen lake was a plus when we decided to skip skiing. Outdoor activities at the home features kayaks and a pedal boat for you to use, a fire pit, two person swing for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Lots of games, indoors and outdoors! Cornhole boards, Giant Jenga, and an indoor bumper pool/card table! Indoor fireplace for that perfect cozy and toasty feel. Comfortably sleeps NO MORE than 8 people. Plus a nice kitchen to home-cook your meals, as well as a Weber Grill for all you grillmasters! This is the waterfront of your dreams, in a quaint lakeside cottage!

Winter activities in the area are good for snowmobiling, skiing, ATV’ing, skating and so much more! Skiing nearby include Pat’s Peak, Sunapee, Crotched Mountain, all within a half hour or so. A bit further away is Okemo (an hour) and more!

Around you is the beautiful outdoors for you to enjoy and unplug! Skiing, hiking, biking, and restaurants are all an easy commute away down peaceful country roads. Nearby shopping in Hillsboro with a Shaws supermarket.

- "We loved how calm and peaceful this home was; we took many trips to get ice cream, visit the general store, went to Sunapee for a day of summer activities, and relaxed on the sun porch, deck and boats on the lake. Mornings were spent either drinking coffee/tea on the porch or reading in the sunroom. Afternoons brought everyone outside to enjoy the sunshine or take a kayak for a spin. I liked the green kayak and took it twice to the sandbar which is a little bit of a distance but great exercise. Even though the lake was low we were able to bring our speedboat and tie it up to the dock. We also tied up our Seadoo Spark to the end of the dock so there is definitely plenty of room there. The kitchen is well equipped with most things you will need to cook in every night. The dining room table seats 8 and most nights we played Palace and LRC. There are plenty of other games for all ages. Of note there is plenty of parking for 4 cars in 1 spot and truck and trailer in another. Also of note the water at the house is too shallow or weedy to swim, we went around the corner to the inlet in the kayaks or paddleboat and swam there or we went to the sandbar. I recommend water shoes for both locations. Shaws is an easy 20 minutes away for anything you may forget."

- "My husband, dog and I enjoyed our stay here in this clean, up-to-date cabin near Ashuelot Pond about two hours from Boston! It's a great place for kayaking -- be sure to paddle from the pond up the Ashuelot River if you get a chance. As others have mentioned, the area is fairly remote, so pack groceries, though Aaron's Specialty (~10 minutes drive away) is a great place for food and ice cream if you don't want to drive farther than that. Thanks, Tara, for giving us a peaceful little getaway (and for communicating with us and being accommodating about changing our dates!). :)"

There is also trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. The lake is perfect for ice skating and ice fishing.
The space.
Beautiful updated camp located by Asheulot Lake. A short 5 minute walk to swimming and the boat launch. There is a canoe and life vests available at the cabin for guests to use. Located by the property of Lucky 7 Farm, is a full working and teaching farm. You may visit the animals during your stay, or stock up on loacally made and grown goodies at our seasonal farmstand. Let us know if you would like us to fill the fridge with any of our pasture raised meats, eggs, bread or delicious goodies for your stay, (see guidebook below). The camp offers two bedrooms and one bathroom. A toasty gas fireplace. Full kitchen with all your cooking/baking needs. Relaxing deck overlooking the woods and water. There is a grill for BBQ in the summer months. Guests have full access to a full state of the art gym for all your fitness needs.

- "Cozy, quiet, comfortable, and well-appointed camp in the woods. If you are looking for solitude, you have found it. Sadly, it was pouring down rain during our stay, so we cannot tell you about the lake, but we highly recommend visiting the farm animals and meeting the owners if you are so inclined. Our hosts were helpful and friendly, and communication and check in went off without a hitch. Very nice stay." - "The property was very clean and stocked with all we needed for a long weekend getaway. It is everything you want in a cozy cottage in the woods. My only request to the owner would be to invest in a new pullout couch as the one there is very difficult to sleep on and we needed to put the mattress on the floor. My teenager was happy to have fast wifi, he brought his Playstation and was able to live HIS best life. The flowers around the house are beautiful, the fire pit was a great added bonus and the grill was my husband's favorite part. I could tell the house was well taken care of and lots of love was put into making it our perfect country get away. We will definitely be back."

Hummingbird Hill is a small B&B located in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire. We are in the heart of New England, making our area a great place for home base for extended week or month long trips but, you may not want to leave with all we have to offer. At Hummingbird Hill we have-fishing, boating, swimming, snowmobiling, golf (on our unique par 3 golf course,) full music studio, hiking, (we are on the Monadnock-Sunapee trail ) or lounging in our country setting. We are located on a dead end dirt road making our location very rural. In the winter you may need 4 wheel drive or we can shuttle you at no cost. We are as flexible about check-in and check-out times as possible. We offer wi-fi , Dish TV and parking. Some cell service is spotty here but, a land line is available.
The location is perfect for families, artists, writers, musicians and business professionals. There is a beautiful view from the back yard where there is also a sun porch, deck and hammocks. We also try our hand at gardening in the gorgeous gardens. We do have a cat Graybug, to keep our farm house mouse free. This warm and cozy home is perfect for a large family or group who is looking to relax and enjoy the NH life. It has 3 floors - 1st floor has a playroom for the kids and a full bath. The 2nd floor has an open floor plan with a full kitchen, full bath, dining area and living area with the TV and sound system. Off the dining area is an outdoor deck with deck furniture and a heater for those chilling nights. The 3rd floor has an open floor plan also which has 2 king size beds, 2 queen size bed, full size bed and 2 twin beds. Outside there is a fire pit for some family time and a lovely stone grill. Hummingbird Hill is a small B&B located in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire. We are in the heart of New England, making our area a great place for home base for extended week or month long trips but, you may not want to leave with all we have to offer. At Hummingbird Hill we have-fishing, boating, swimming, snowmobiling, golf (on our unique par 3 golf course,) full music studio, hiking, (we are on the Monadnock-Sunapee trail ) or lounging in our country setting.
