The villa is located on the top of Narni, a typical medieval Umbrian village, that has gained notoriety in recent years thanks to the Chronicles of Narnia as it inspired the writer CS Lewis. The property lies in the old town of Narni close to the imposing fortress and overlooks the old town of Narni. From the garden and rooms you will enjoy the spectacular views on the sheer valleys that surround the village. The property is an old cloister that has been renovated (works finished in March 2023 and available for rent from end April 2023) with great care and use of the traditional building materials but also equipped with modern comforts as a pool, sauna, floor heating and air conditioning. The furniture is a combination of modern and ancient style! The old walls fence the whole garden. The garden consists of two areas. At upper area you will find the entrance gate, parking area for 3-4 cars (2 also covered), garden with lounge set in the shade of some trees and, with a beautiful view over the roofs of the village, a gazebo with dining table where spend summer evenings. There is also a barbecue available to cook. In front of the house entrance there is also a sheltered courtyard with tables / chairs for 10 people to eat outdoor, perfect for breakfasts and lunch. A stair leads to the lower area of the garden where you will find the pool (6 by 3 meters, depth 1,20 meter), sauna and and a natural tub dug into the rock with cold water that rises directly from the rocks. The pool area is equipped with sun loungers and there is a lawn next to it. The property is suitable for up to 11 persons and has 4 bedrooms (9 sleeps) and a double sofa bed on mezzanine in the living room.

Early May of each year there is a Medieval event in the town and, for a couple of weeks, it’s also possible to eat in 3 typical taverns. If you want to come without a car, there is a train stations in Narni Scalo (the modern town) and you can take from there a bus to the old city (there is a bus stop at 300 meters from the property). If you want to visit Rome and Florence we suggest to go by train.
In the Area you can live many experiences in contact with the uncontaminated nature of Umbria, as tracking, mountain bike and horse riding. Deep in the silent woods in the Umbriam countryside, surrounded by flowers and aromatic plants, quince trees and olive trees, the country house is the perfect shelter for whoever is looking for an enchanted atmosphere and at the same time wants to experience the heart of the Italian culture. Located halfway between Rome and the well known touristic sites in Umbria. The country house is an ancient stone mansion furnished with style and elegance, perfectly integrated into the surrounding nature. The main house has 6 double ensuite bedrooms, a lounge, a dining-room, a kitchen, a pantry and an enchanting screened porch with French windows leading into the garden.
The swimming pool, filled with groundwater and surrounded by lavendar, roses and rosmary bushes, is a turqoise jewel and the centre of attraction during the Summer.
The house is also liveable in Winter thanks to the efficient heating system and pellet stoves. The pantry is equiped with a washing machine, dishwasher, a hob, oven and fridge. The main kitchen in the house is fully equipped.
In addition to the main house, there is a little cottage right under a big oak tree. The cottage features a bathroom with shower, WC with bidet and a sink, a small kitchen, one queen-size bed and a wooden mezzanine with 2 windows overlooking the garden and the surrounding woods; the facade has a screened porch with French windows. The garden borders with the woods on 2 sides South and South-West and with vine-yards and olive trees towards North, North-West. The swimming pool is located in the southern part of the garden and is 15 metres long by 5 metres wide.

- "We were a large group with 2 dogs who came for a week. The house is very sweet and bigger than we thought with a very nice swimming pool. We were just surprised by the road which was a bit complicated for underpowered cars. We recommends it ! " - "We stayed at the house as a group of 11 including children ages 10 up. Patrizia and Carla organised a lovely complementary meal of lasagne, bruschetta and salads for our first night and it was delicious. We were greeted by Patrizia and have nothing but praise for how Patrizia responded to all of our questions. The house itself has 4 bedrooms with access to another 2 double rooms via separate external access. A little cottage also provides another bedroom. The main house is beautifully furnished with creative art pieces and the lounge is very roomy and cosy. The pool was perfect for our stay, particularly as we arrived during the unprecedented heatwave. The pool is the best that we have used during our various visits to Umbria as it is a great size and within a very short walk from the house. A outside shower is also really useful. The location itself is fairly remote although the garden and outside space is magical. Be prepared however, for the steep drive to the Villa from San Vito. The local town, San Vito, is tiny so we regularly ventured to larger towns close by such as Narni (approx. 30 mins drive) and Otricolli (approx. 15 minutes’ drive). Otricolli offers a couple of restaurants offering good food at affordable prices. However, a car is a must and we regularly visited towns in this part of Umbria, including Orto, Spoleto and Todi which all offer nice historical sights and good food. All in all, we had a lovely stay at the house. Our only observation is that a large group with small children should consider how the sleeping arrangements will work as the outside bedrooms/separate cottage may not be ideal for them."

My accommodation is very comfortable and spacious and has recently been renovated.
It consists of a large living area with a kitchen complete with oven, fridge, dishwasher and a beautiful fireplace, a large and bright double bedroom, a bathroom with shower.
The house is situated on the second floor of an old stone building, in one of the most beautiful and characteristic streets of Narni, near the Cathedral and its bell tower.
And 'provided bedding and towels, the kitchen is equipped with everything needed for cooking.
A free parking is located about 200m from the house and is accessible by elevator. It will also find the bus stop that connects the city center with the train station, about 2,5km.
Nearby you can play tennis, horse riding and many other activities, including fishing and hiking and biking.
It 'a starting point to explore the nearby Umbria and Rome, which is about 80km and reached by train in just one hour.

Location is also great, quiet, but yet the shops/train station/restaurants are only 10-15 mins away and the area around is stunning. - "This is not a private villa, the owners family live next door and use the shared grounds. Felt uncomfortable throughout our stay as never sure when someone would walk past the windows. The kitchen is a corridor, not practical for cooking as the cooker is squashed down one end, the fridge and freezer doors don't open properly as the wall is in the way. Strangely there is indoor seating for 8 people but this place would be overcrowded with more than 4 people staying. Both bathrooms were smelly also Location is lovely and the town of Narni is a short drive away. We were there in the last 2 weeks of June and they have a festival which is definitely worth seeing. Took the train to Rome twice direct from Narni station, took approx 1 hour. Purchased tickets from machine in station, its worth paying for 1st class as not much more."

- "Lovely house, but there were a few annoyances that stopped it being a great holiday: - Advert said it had internet (one of our prerequisites for teenage kids and for keeping in contact with work), but there is no internet of any sort. - Poorly equipped: No kettle, only a few coffee mugs, DVD player did not work properly and was missing remote etc. - Very expensive especially considering the extras for linen and gas/electric - Wanted to put my teenage children each in their own room (they are a boy and girl and at an age where they want privacy), but manager would not give one of them a double bed and one a single as we had only paid for bedding for 4, so they ended up having to share a room. - The pool filter was on a timer and only ran for a couple of hours a day, so the pool was dirty when we wanted to use it."

- "This was an amazing property with lots of space both within the buildings and the grounds. There was a large pool which was carefully maintained by the on-site caretaker. Everything you could need was provided in the house and dining building. A great place for large parties - we were 15 - with four individual apartments providing the opportunity for family groups to have some privacy. The opportunities for dining together were provided by the lovely long table on the loggia and in the equally long table in the dining building with its professionally equipped kitchen. Extremely good value for money."

We are in Narni, a historic medieval centre that became famous throughout the world for having inspired C. S. Lewis in writing The Chronicles of Narnia, the series of fantasy novels set in the imaginary Land of Narnia. The recurring colour of this villa is a creamy yellow, bestowing a warm and welcoming atmosphere, an intimate setting where you immediately feel at home. The large, comfortable bedrooms are all equipped with air conditioning and digital terrestrial TV. The villa, built in the early 1950s, was renovated a few years ago with care and passion by the owners, and is furnished in a simple and sober style; the windows that illuminate the living room face directly out onto the beautiful portico that has been set up for outdoor dining. Interior:
I Melograni is just on one floor. The front door leads directly into the open-plan living room composed of sitting area, with armchairs and fireplace, and dining area leading directly out to the portico. Communicating with the living room is the fully-equipped kitchen and the pantry with the laundry. The sleeping area is accessed from both the living room and a second entrance directly from the garden. It consists of two double bedrooms (with divisible beds), and ensuite bathroom with shower, and a double bedroom (with divisible beds) and adjacent bathroom with tub and shower. All the bedrooms and the living room are equipped with air conditioning and digital terrestrial TV.

Park:
A fence runs along the entire perimeter of the property which extends for about 1 hectare. One part is covered by lawn, mainly flat, while the remaining part consists of a large olive grove with 200 trees and of fruit trees such as cherries, apples, persimmons and, obviously, pomegranates (melograni) from which this beautiful residence takes its name. Outside the living room door is a large portico covered by a wooden canopy with an area for outdoor dining and a living corner furnished with armchairs and a sofa. There are various outdoor living areas, shaded by trees, sail and large umbrella and equipped with brick barbecue, wood oven, table, chairs, sofas, armchairs and games for children. In the pool area is an attractive gazebo, equipped with sofa, armchairs and table, ideal for an aperitif. In the evening the outdoor lights come on in various strategic places and the garden becomes even more magical, around the pool and in the rest of the property. A few metres past the automatic iron gate, is the exposed parking area with space for three cars.

Swimming Pool:
The swimming pool is located at a slightly lower level than the villa, which is about 15 m away, and is reached along a paved path. The rectangular pool, measuring 9 x 4 m with a constant depth of 1.40 m, is lined in PVC and has salt purification, internal lighting and Roman steps for access to the water. The solarium area surrounding the pool is paved in travertine and stone and is equipped with sunbeds, armchairs and a gazebo, which is furnished with a sofa and armchairs to ensure shade during the hottest hours. There is a hot-water solar shower. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October.

La Corte di Narnia is a marvelous villa situated on a spur at the foot of Narni Castle. It's a historic residence built in the Middle Ages, once a friary, then inhabited by nobles in recent centuries.
It's the only house in the historic center with a swimming pool, and there's no shortage of space here. It boasts two gardens and an external courtyard.
It's a luxurious and comfortable place; the villa is fully air-conditioned and it has the private parking.

La Corte di Narnia consists of a spacious entrance, a TV room, a dining room, and a kitchen. Meticulous restoration has allowed for the recovery of ancient terrazzo and marble floors. The external courtyard, at the level of the dining room, was once an ancient square on two levels dating back to the 1200s, and to this day, the original cobblestone pavement of that era has been preserved.
