Everything in the villa worked well and we had everything we needed for cooking However, being North American, we were not prepared for the moka stove top type of coffee makers, or the complete lack of condiments such as salt and pepper. The smaller Conad in Marta, only six minutes away, is also a good place to shop for necessities. The groundskeeper Bi, was very helpful and treated us to baskets of fresh vegetables from his garden. The owners, Antonio and Sabrina, were the most accommodating and hospitable owners we have ever worked with from organizing events, quickly answering our every question and sharing tips and advice about the area. They made us feel like family and we became fast friends. The property manager, Gianluca, is a gem and was present the day we arrived to walk us through the villa and came by a couple of times to fix a couple of minor issues. A lifelong resident of Montefiascone he, along with owners, has great recommendations for restaurants and cafes. We had three meals coordinated by Antonio and Sabrina and they were all excellent. The team. led by Tonino, that cooks for the villa is a very special group of individuals preparing local dishes with only fresh and available ingredients. We were impressed by the fact that they offer these services as a nonprofit and donate their net profit to relief efforts in Italy and across Europe. The villa itself is spectacular. Pictures don’t capture the beauty of the lake, the valley views and the exterior and interior of the villa. We had all four apartments. All of which are large, spotless and are fully equipped. The house is huge and labyrinthine, it's a lot of fun exploring the place and you can easily get some privacy if 20 people around get too much. First thing you will remark is the crazily long entrance alley, which immediately gives you an idea of how undisturbed the place is. The large garden also has a lot of fun corners to discover. The kitchen and patio soon became our main place to hang out. The kitchen is truly amazing, perfectly appointed for large groups - there's two of almost everything, two dishwashers, electric ovens, stone ovens, electric stoves, plus a very nice gas stove that you can reach from two sides which makes cooking for a lot of people really easy. The large patio is partly roofed, so we could spend all time outside, even when there was a bit of rain. Small minus for the outside furniture, which is not super comfortable. The bedrooms are nice and cozy, plenty of blankets are provided in case you plan your stay in the less hot months. They are kind of separated in several "wings"; some of them have separate bathrooms, and for those no more than two rooms have to share one. Again you easily get some quiet if needed. The pool was fun (and regularly cleaned) of course, but don't miss out on the ping-pong table!! The owner was very helpful and easygoing. Altogether we had a very good time there, I can wholeheartedly recommend staying there!"

To get to the apartment from the parking you have to walk a dozen steps and cross the courtyard of the main house. We do not recommend access to people with reduced mobility.

The country house is located on a country road about one kilometer from the center of the village of Montefiascone (5 minutes by car).
At the end of the street you will find bars, groceries and an oven.
The Bistrot at the end of the street is waiting for you for breakfast with hand made cakes and a little discount for you.

It would be better to arrive with your own vehicle in order to move freely around the village and in the vicinity, for example, to reach the lake or the villages nearby.
However Montefiascone is served by the bus / CO.TRA.L.

- "I could only stay for a couple of days on my journey through Tuscia in this breathtakingly beautiful place, but trust me, every second in Romana's home was time well spent, feeling the honey of life slowly dripping from its combs. It was everything I had been looking for: tranquil and pure. The accommodation is simple, rustic but full of warmth and soul. And then the garden in front of the house, which is just... amazing! It's definitely better to have a car at your disposal out here, especially during the hot summer days, when the 15 minute walk into the town can get you a bit sweaty. Travelling with bus and train around here can feel a bit tricky at first as schedules are sometimes not really reliable but once you've got the hang of it the local public transport will bring you to lots of beautiful places like Capodimonte, Bolsena, Bagnoregio, Viterbo, all of them well worth a visit. I will keep these few days in Montefiascone forever in my heart until maybe I can return one day..."
