This modern studio cottage is wonderfully located on Long Island, just a 45-minute train ride to Midtown-Manhattan. You get to do all the "city" things (shows, museums, restaurants, etc) but still enjoy a magnificent respite right in the midst of the North Shore of Long Island. The cottage is romantically designed for a couple and fitted with all the necessitates and a cool kitchen as well as a small private deck with a BBQ. But it's also great for traveling businessmen/women, and the sofa transforms into comfortable extra sleeping for one or two in a pinch. It's around a-mile to the local beaches and about 45-minutes from Fire Island, a bit more to the Hampton's or north-fork wineries.

In short, it's perfectly located for those who want to be able to do a bit of everything or those who need to settle-in to be with family or work.

Raynham Hall is in Oyster Bay, New York. Home of the Townsend family, one of the founding families of Oyster Bay, on Long Island, New York, and a member of George Washington's Culper Ring of spies, the house was renamed Raynham Hall (seat of the Marquesses Townshend) after the Townsend seat in Norfolk, England, in 1850 by a grandson of the original owner. The house is now owned by the Town of Oyster Bay and operated as a public museum by the Friends of Raynham Hall Museum, Inc. Raynham Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a Town of Oyster Bay Landmark, and is a featured site on the Oyster Bay History Walk audio walking tour. It is located at 20 West Main Street, right in the heart of Oyster Bay. The new education center is where guests purchase tour tickets, and is located at 30 West Main Street.

It's hard not to open a bottle of wine when the light starts to change. Your decks are only 20 feet above the high water mark and the sound of the water makes you feel its unnecessary to go down the 5 stairs to the beach. But you usually go for a walk anyway to see what the tide brought today.

Every night the sunset dropping into Oyster Bay's west harbor is different but the old draw bridge across the way lights up exactly the same.

Exclusive Centre Island has 200 homes but there are only 12 on the west waterfront. You probably know the names of a few of your 11 neighbors.

Our home is in an incredibly safe area that is in an upscale neighborhood. Gorgeous and serene area. Just a 45 minute drive into the city! Great shops and restaurants nearby. Perfect for honeymooners, celebrities, artists and family vacations!

Seacroft is the pearl in what was to be a grand development of homesteads on a picturesque point overlooking the inlet to Oyster Bay on Centre Island. Fortunately those larger development plans never came to fruition and the estate transitioned to a private family residence that has been the focal point of family gatherings for several generations. The house and grounds are expansive, encompassing the entire eastern "beak" of Centre Island. The home is well appointed with 10 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. There are two tennis courts, a standard pool with views of the bay and sound, a bay boat house with kayak launches, and 1/2 mile of private beach.

This is the perfect place for a large family gathering, weddings, or intimate corporate events. Please inquire about special event pricing charged in addition to our weekly rate of $15,000. Rate will depend on the number of guests attending the event, and will be allowed with an additional fee of $75/per person. We can recommend caterers, valet parkers, etc.

$10,000 security deposit to be paid two weeks before move in date - will be returned within 2 weeks after the lease ends unless there are damages.

- "Beautiful, historic and wonderful in every way." - "The location is spectacular and the grounds and exterior of the home are as beautiful as depicted. The inside of the home is very classic and original which has its pluses and minuses. The charm is off the hook and very authentic. But because of the age of the house some of the lack of maintenance is very apparent. It took a few days to get the musty smell cleared out. We had to drink bottled water because of the condition of the old water pipes with concerns about rust/lead. Also, some of the items you would expect to work well in a high cost VRBO did not. For example the handles on the heavy patio doors were broken on the outside making opening and closing difficult, burners on the grill did not light, the freezer did not work so there was a stand alone freezer nearby, there were almost no pots/pans, etc. Owner Vesna was very communicative and very helpful. She knows the area well and made great recommendations for cleaning help and catering. Very user friendly. Overall, the pros definitely outweighed the cons. You have to expect a certain amount of limited functionality in older vintage homes. The house worked great for our family reunion with lots of cozy spots to hang out in."

Alternatively, you can take a five minute drive to downtown Huntington, which is known for its nightlife, live music, boutique shops and restaurant scene. Just an hour by train to Manhattan, this welcoming space makes for a calming retreat away from the city - for a weekend or for the whole week. Fall asleep listening to the crickets chirp while gazing at the stars through the skylight, then wake up drinking your morning coffee on your own private deck.

Other things to note
The house itself is tucked away on the hillside behind the parent home property and requires a trip up an inclined pathway. Because of these stairs, the listing is NOT handicap accessible. This is great for couples or solo adventurers. Please message me if you have a child you would like to accommodate additionally as we do have an AAP approved pack n play available for use.

Kitchen: There is a microwave, mini fridge/freezer, toaster oven and a sink for washing up. A Keurig (1) cup coffee maker is also supplied with tea and coffee pods to enjoy. Please hand wash dishes after use.

Modern amenities included, such as QR code’s for easy wifi access, a full-sized memory foam mattress with plenty of pillows, 42” HD TV with Chromecast streaming ability and a curated local welcome gift specifically tailored to your party.

- "This is a beautiful decorated, modern beach house in Bayville. It’s perfectly located and features a great backyard. Inside is clean, cozy, inviting and the perfect size for 4 adults. The property is dog friendly and close to the local dog park too. Wonderful communication from the host. Everything was clear and any questions we had were answered. Overall a really great property and I highly recommend it." - "My friends, husband, and I are appalled, as the host made us very uncomfortable staying here. Let’s start with being watched on 2 Ring cameras. Although outside.. 1 camera is located right in the back next to the jacuzzi, where we’re in our bathing suits, and where the fire is and games like corn hole and connect 4. I had a small dinner party for my Birthday here with no more than 9 guests (including my husband and I) at any given time, although only 6 of them were sleeping over, which was told to him in person. Mind you, as much as he’d like to think so, nothing said anything against get-togethers, up-charging for extra people, or having a problem with accommodating 6 guests staying there at our time of booking, which I have screenshot evidence of. We were not rude guests and left the place spotless, despite the horrible circumstance they put us through. Excuse us for having some steak and beers for a birthday. Why have games and amenities such as these if they can not handle a dinner party? We would have stayed on the beach the whole time but the beach is rather rocky and we were honest about having 8-9 guests after all. This was said to his face before he left! He decided to put a whole lot of extra descriptions about no parties and extra fees the night he kicked us out, saying that was always the policy (when it wasn’t) but that’s besides the point… What really gets to us is that he and the woman he was with were extremely rude to us, even though we were not rude to them. I had to stop the woman from yelling in my friends ear as my friend was doing dishes saying, “you weren’t invited here!” I said, “don’t talk to her like that”. They kicked us out half way through our reservation time at no cost to them, no refund, and without providing any reasonable explanation. He will probably have you check-in early to check you out and act like he did you a favor by doing that. He might even tell you that he was a cop, evident by his thin blue line flag and all. Yeah, we get it, respect the police but wow… 4 out of my 9 friends are poc. Made us all us wonder if this is where they drew the line? Hmm. Although we can’t prove if this was an act of discrimination or not…. My advice? Don’t come here unless you like dealing with these very rude individuals who will probably be watching you and listening in on your convos the whole time while you’re outdoors. Better believe I will be following up because they owe us back our money. We do not recommend."
