As this is Leslie's home (she moves out when you are there) the quality of everything - sheets, linen, glasses, cooking equipment, furnishings is of a very high standard, unlike your typical holiday rental. The deck area with pool and pool table is perfect to relax and cool off with kids and teenagers, and the BBQ works perfectly. It was 33 degrees celsius while we were there and we were so glad that we had booked this rather than staying in Manhattan. You have easy access into Manhattan, just 40 minutes on the Long Island Rail Road, we came back at 11.30pm one night and there were still trains running. For your more chilled days both Long Beach and Jones Beach are 15-20 minutes away. On a weekend you can rent a kayak in the next street and paddle round the bay. We prefer not to drive on holiday so we used Uber to get around which worked out easier and cheaper than a car rental for us. It was $10 to the train station or supermarket, $25 to the beach. If you want to explore further afield on Long Island e.g. down to the Hamptons or Montauk then you would be better to rent a car. Leslie herself is the perfect host. She went out of her way to drive us around the area on Day 1 so that we knew where things were. She was always available if we needed help with anything or had questions, and she looked after our suitcases after checkout until we were ready to go to the airport."

- "We recently stayed at this property with two other couples (no kids). The posting is very acurately. It's not the biggest house but has a nice den and living area. The downstairs was recently renovated. Dining room table can fit 4-6 people. Nice deck with hot tub in the back yard. One bedroom is downstairs with its own bathroom and small kitchen (studio set up). Upstairs has two bedrooms, with the master significantly bigger than the second bedroom. The second bedroom has a full size bed. The owner keeps another room closed off. The house is one house away from the beach and easily walkable. We had great weather and went on lots of walks. Neighborhood is very quiet. There is no parking on the street and the driveway easily holds two cars. Overall, everything was as expected and the homeowner was extremely easy to deal with.
