The kitchen and dining room are well stocked with dinnerware, utensils, pots, and pans. The dishwasher and washing machine were well used by us (i.e., 4 adults and a 2 year-old)! The beds are large and very comfortable. The relation of the side terrace to the apartment is not clear in the photographs; however, the entrance to the apartment is via the side terrace ,and at the back of the terrace from Via Balena is a very large, tiled parking space that is gated. At the one end of the terrace, by the parking space, is an outdoor shower which we used daily after a day at the beach. There is a grill on the terrace, which I would have liked to use but we found it a bit old and rusted. Maybe it is our Canadian hangup with large propane/gas BQs! Fabia and her family were very helpful and friendly as I found most Sicilians to be. The apartment is well situated for getting to the Donnalucata beach as well as other beaches such as Marina di Ragusa. It is a very short walk to the Donnalucata beach, however, there is the usual problem with walking by the road in Sicily, that is, there is no safe space and there is a lot of broken glass by the trash dumpsters on the one side the road. Donnalucata beach is very nice, yet it would be good if the sand was cleaned since there were a lot of cigarette butts and other things in the sand. The beach at Marina di Ragusa is very well taken care of. A wonderful place to stay; thank you Fabia! "

- "Very nice" - "The villa is a gorgeous and spacious 4 bedroom property with 2 double and 2 twin rooms. 3 of the bedrooms have gorgeous en-suites. The kitchen contains all the equipment you could wish for including to my delight an air fryer ( and coffee machines, toaster, oven, microwave, dishwasher etc…). The outside is like a well tended paradise with a large and warm swimming pool, lawn, sun beds under shade, fantastic outdoor kitchen & bbq and plenty of seating areas. We spent many a night outside playing cards until late. There is an outdoor shower near the pool and a whole outbuilding with washing machine, toilet and another outdoor shower. You definitely need a car to explore the area, lots of things to do if you have one. You can explore the lovely nearby towns of Modina, Scicli and Ragusa & Mount Etna is about 1hr 40 mins away. The nearby beaches of Samperi and Donnalucata are great with shallow waters perfect for little ones. Management of the villa is fantastic with plenty of support there if you need it but otherwise completely unobtrusive. If I could give 6 stars I would …"

And what a relief from the heat, sitting on the terrace in the evening lounging by a pleasant sea breeze and accompanied by the cicadas chant.
And in winter? A cute fireplace will warm up your evenings!
The house will be only for you, no other guest, since we live in the city. The garden is at your disposal for a 0 Km snack: oranges, mandarins, tangerines, figs, prickly pear, loquat, apricots, pomegranate. Are they in the season? Or spice up your meals with aromatic plants and lemons.
The breakfast has to be taken in the terrace accompanied by the bird songs, of course, and barbecue (you have all the necessary) done under the starry sky (you will see them for real).
Fancy a walk or a bike ride? The countryside is waiting for you with its olive groves, carobs, vineyards and wheat fields ... but no pesticides and watch out for insects.
It's a bit rustic indeed, but you got everything you need: fridge, washing machine, equipped water. We provide sheets and towels.

THE DISTRICT
The house is secluded, but 10 minutes from Scicli downtown if you fancy a culture-inspired evening, taste local food or chatting with locals while you shop for souvenirs. If you want to find the beach refrigeration, contemplating a sunset or simply returning from holidays with a decent tan you have the choice. All the beaches, from Sampieri to Donnalucata, are up to 10 minutes. A jump to Noto or Syracuse for another adventure? You are on the right track without even having to passing through the town.
There are great supermarkets and a gas station 2 km away. You won’t need anything else.
MOBILITY
Rigorously by car or scooter. What do you expect in Sicily? By the way, you have no choice if you come from the airport and you want to see the nearby cities or go for the beaches. But at least you won’t have any of the parking troubles of the city!
A country road drives you off from the main road through the fields. In front of the house, there is a large parking space, even for several cars.

Bedroom mattress/pillows were comfortable and our daughters had fine slept upstairs in the 2 separated rooms. The apartment is really at 50 meters (or less) from the main beach and a short block from the grocery stores. Francesco was responsive and a pleasure to work with - quick to respond to questions and emails - and the housekeeper, was helpful in answering questions. Would recommend this place to anyone and we look forward to our return!"
