I'd been slightly worried by some reviews before we arrived but i can honestly say our stay in August was excellent. It's a great 3 star hotel. All the staff were brilliant, my children went to kids club on our last 2 days and loved it, huge thanks to Junior, Andre, Pedro and Vinny, especially Junior who took my daughter under his wing and Pedro who entertained my son. The pool was huge and the only one in the world that actually had free loungers at almost any time of the day! The boat over to the beach was fun and the beach nice, with warmer water than the west coast. The room was a cheaper room, sunrise, and was spacious, well equipt and very clean. Plenty of hot water for showers and cleaners came every other day and did a wonderful job. I can only assume that people are expecting far more than they paid for, hand on heart, this is a great find."

The house is surrounded by multi-acre property, with beautiful landscaped gardens, and fruit and olive groves. There are pools set in the garden, and numerous well-designed walking paths and rest areas under the trees. The main house itself and the guest quarters are built according to a well-thought-through designer architectural plan, with a clever mix of traditional and modern style features. Everything is of high quality and reliable - from the furniture to fixtures and dinnerware. All the employees are very nice, healthful, and kind. And the breakfast was amazing. One of the top two we had on this month-long trip, and the only one comparable to this one was at a historic pousada. Fruit and vegetables they serve are from their garden. My wife asked for mint tea, and to our pleasant surprise the mint was fresh from the garden. I am sure this property if not easy to book in the high season, but in December the price was very reasonable. In sum, we are looking forward to staying here again next year. "

Excellent breakfast with many items made on site and from local produce." - "Charming, rustic, homely family-run farmhouse on a hill overlooking Tavira and the sea. Property has plum trees, fig trees, almond trees, olive trees, grapevines, some citrus, lots of beautiful flowering oleander, wild flowers and some fragrant wild thyme. There are 2 dogs and a donkey on-site and a little play area for children. Rosario and her daughter Ines and their staff are lovely. The property was clean and comfortable and felt tranquil and safe. Ideal for those who enjoy privacy, solitude, nature and easy access to facilities in a nearby town. The sea view room was spacious, had a jacuzzi tub and a private terrace with sun nearly all day. The property generally had sun all day. The plunge pool was a good temperature. Breakfast included some fresh and tasty items such as fresh orange juice, fig bread and goat cheese. Dinner during my stay consisted of octopus cataplana (smelled really nice) and black pork and seemed suited to those who enjoy hearty local seafood and meat dishes. It’s a 20 minute walk to Tavira town, including a 3 minute walk downhill through the farm along a narrow footpath. It’s about a 25 minute walk to the ferry to Tavira island which is well-organised with endless white sandy beaches, restaurants and a campsite. The beach was pretty but very windy in the afternoon and there was a lot of seaweed in the water. I understand it’s generally less windy in the morning. Check taxi prices to and from Tavira, they can vary significantly. "

The wash hand basin in the bathroom does not hold water with the waste closed. The key on the key ring which opens the door to the pool area does not fit the lock, when leaving you are asked to leave the key at the apartment but if you have a car parked in the car park you need the fob on the key ring to open the barrier when you leave. A bit of paint on some walls would make it almost perfect. These are very minor points, and should not but anyone of staying in this little Gem.Thanks to the owner"
