- "We stayed for 3 nights to celebrate my daughter's 25th birthday and it was a perfect location for us. Plenty of room to park at the garage, the gravel hill walking up to the house was a bit steep. With quick access to Hwy 694, 36 and both 35's this charming log cabin is located in a beautiful and convenient area of the Twin Cities. You'll enjoy the melodies of loons with your morning coffee and vibrant evening sunsets. Be careful of cars....they’re always slowing down on our road to see the local deer families....my goodness those fawns are cute! There is many beautiful local parks to explore or great shopping at Rosedale Mall just minutes away. Under 10 miles to either UofM campuses, along with many other University's: Bethel, Northwestern-St. Paul, Concordia, and Hamline. Minutes to either downtowns to get the Xcel Center, US Bank Stadium, Winter Carnival and Minnesota State Fair Grounds.

The space
Walking in, you'll enjoy the distinct log aroma that warms your soul and transports you to a tranquil corner of the world. Nicknamed "Owasso Marina" we have always had several docks and water toys (kayak, floaties, paddle bikes and paddle boat) which we will provide the same for our valued guests. Additionally, guests can try fishing, waterskiing, boating, or swimming during the warmer months and ice fishing, skiing, snow shoeing, ice skating and snowmobiling during the frozen months.

Pets
1-2 well behaved, 100% housebroken dog guests allowed. Must be discussed and approved by owners before final booking. When human guests are away, the dog guest must be crated. There will be an additional fee for dog guests.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire 1st floor and master bedroom loft that overlooks the living room and dining room. They can enjoy the lake views from the deck off the living room and the lower patio and deck space at the lake level. A separate dock is available for any guests that wish to bring a watercraft. There are several other water toys and life jackets available, if needed. Door to basement is locked for homeowners use. If we visit the basement, it will be through the lake side basement door and will only be for short periods of time for business operations.

Other things to note
Our home is located on a paver stone private drive that parallels a railroad track. There are 8 intimate homes on the drive and it’s just over a car width wide, so please do not park in the roadway in order to allow the neighbors ample room to come and go. The roadway is a driveway for our homes and often times the neighbors, their kids and/or pets are socializing, playing or working in the yards, driveways or the roadway…so please drive slowly and don’t hesitate to wave, stop to say “Hi!” and introduce yourself!

Possible noise
Private drive parallels railroad track which may run during daylight hours. An 8-10 car train runs 5mph and sounds horn at the top of the hill for car traffic. It’s part of our “up north” atmosphere in the middle of the Twin Cities!

- "The property was ideally situated for me and my three brothers for a family gathering in July. We could easily access most places in the Twin Cities very quickly from this location. The house was clean and comfortable for me and my brothers' needs. The fact that there were two full baths was great. While we did not cook using the kitchen the fact that the owner provided some basic staples in the way of seasonings was a nice touch. We had ample space to park our two vehicles and the site was convenient to grocery or liquor stores as well as restaurants."

It was nice that there was a basketball and hoop for the kids. The host is responsive and ironed out a few hiccups. * SECURITY CAMERAS: Cameras are on recording during your stay. Guests do not need to expect to be monitored during their stay but are being made aware of the cameras’ presence. These will be utilized if an issue arises or is suspected, and confirmation or clarification is needed regarding activity on the property at any time. Any attempt at disabling or obscuring the cameras is prohibited and may result in Guests being removed from the property without refund.
* BIOHAZARD WASTE: Clean and remove any Biohazard waste (i.e.: vomit or blood). A charge of $250.00 will be charged if left.
* Turn off the lights, TV, and any electronics when you leave the house.
* Property Manager/ Host/Co-host may enter the Property at any time with prior notice to Guests.

- "The home was very clean and located well for accessing Minneapolis and St. Paul. On the side of things that need improvement: -The bathtubs are both very slippery and definitely need non skin mats. -Handyman work could use a professional touch. both bathrooms need caulking and tub drain plugs off -Its winter and blankets on the beds would have been appropriate - Horrible kitchen - NOT a kitchen if you plan to cook - stove is the worst stove I have ever tried to cook on and I am an old lady. - sink will not hold wash water - Silverware and serving utensils are minimal - there are only 3 knives in the silverware drawer - very disappointed in the kitchen and supplies."

You'll stay in the main level of the original farmhouse with access to nature trails on this working farm. Being built in 1900, it's got some rough edges here and there, though it is clean and comfortable.

You'll have access to the best of both worlds: natural beauty of woods and meadows, and quick access to St. Paul (20 minutes), Stillwater (10 minutes) and all the attractions that the Twin Cities have to offer.

The farm often has some level of activity going on and you will see other people, but the house is a private space just for you.

This is our sixth-generation family farm, and while it's more of a hobby farm now, it has been in continuous agricultural production since 1869! We consider this our sanctuary and enjoy sharing it with others looking for a place of retreat to connect with the natural world.
