It's a great little place for a getaway!" - "Bathroom's a little small. Can't do anything about that, however a few amenities would be helpful. A handheld spray attachment to the shower head. A tub grab bar for seniors. Our last visit had a bidet installed on the toilet. If nothing else, your toilet paper cost saving would pay for itself. Obviously, the kitchen is tight but if you raise the microwave just below the cabinets by installing a 12" shelf, you can gain counter space. The coffee maker can be right under it. Next the living can't have to much clutter, but a couple of folding TV trays would have been handy. Last but not least is the bedrooms. I completely understand why there's no chests. Would be a problem getting around. When I was shopping at Dollar General, I saw some small plastic three drawer chests that would be enough to store underwear, socks etc. $15. I've tried to suggest things that our doable and wouldn't break the bank."

Getting Around

Walk right into town. Central location so everything is within blocks.

We are centrally located in the village. We are a block from the beach. There is another public access two blocks down, at the end of Lake St and Old Orchard Bluff, with a very nice beach area. The DNR Boat Launch is at the end of Boynton St, and the Marina is at the end of Huron Ave. The Patrick Tierney Park entrance is located at the end of Simons St. The Park has a long stretch of sandy beach, playground equipment, picnic area and the break wall to walk. 4 short blocks to the Lexington Village Theatre.

Other Things to Note

Pet fee is in addition and is $150 per pet for entire length of stay. In short, one dog is $150 for the entirety of your stay.

2 Queen beds, 1 Twin day bed. Also, the home has 2 sofas in livingroom and 1 small sofa in upstairs loft area. The living room sofas can be used for smaller guests such as children (that is what we do when we stay with our family...I have 3 yound kids).

Welcome to our cozy lake home located in a QUIET cottage community, just steps away (4 houses) from the water with a water view from both the spacious Florida Room and front yard. Short, beautiful walk to the Beach Access located at the end of the street. The cottage includes a fully equipped kitchen, ready for a home cooked meal or visit one of the one of the excellent local restaurants, ranging from casual to fine dining, just minutes away in Downtown Lexington. There are also many fun shops and a performing arts theatre if you would enjoy a day of shopping or catch a show in the evening! The comfortable living room is equipped with a gas fireplace for cooler evenings, flat screen TV, Roku, Wi-Fi, and a Queen Sleeper Sofa for once the day is through. The additional sleeping accommodations include the master featuring a Queen bed with a sliding glass door overlooking the tranquil, fenced back yard. A secondary bedroom offers another queen bed with a twin loft above. The updated full bathroom has a Tub/Shower with medicine cabinet for storage of personal toiletries. A limited number of toiletries provided along linens (sheets, towels, washcloths). This home includes a laundry room with washer & dryer combo (detergent not provided) and features an On Demand Tankless Water Heater for much needed showers after a full day at the Beach. Please bring your own beach towels. We kindly ask that you do not remove or use the towels provided for showers as beach towels.

Community Amenities include a boat ramp, playground, and overflow parking for a boat, trailer, or guest vehicle. On property parking has space for several vehicles but a max height of 7’. Don’t want to be away from your pets or need to save the additional cost of boarding while on vacation? Don’t worry, this Cottage offers a fenced, Pet Friendly home & yard for an additional fee. Please be sure to use the waste bags provided to pick up after pets during walks and also within the fenced back yard (an additional fee will be charged if pet waste is left behind on the grounds). We also provide a dog bowl and treats to make your pet feel at home. Nicely sized back yard with plenty of shade for your family & the pups to lounge. On the rare occasions that the outside temperatures get too high, a portable AC unit is provided to compliment the ceiling fans to increase comfort level.

Don’t forget, this is a Quiet Cottage Community SO PLEASE abide by the quiet time hours of 11pm – 8am, turn down the volume during those hours to be respectful of the neighbors. Please no “party groups”.

The Lexington Theatre hosts a variety of shows from music artists to comedians. We have 2 bedrooms that can sleep 5 total and a pull out love seat in the sitting room that can sleep 1 adult or 2 small children more. 2 smart tv’s and Wi-Fi. We do not have central air but do have a window unit and fans. We have a gas grill for some good family meals at home. There is a beach wagon for your quick walk to the beach and corn hole boards for some good family fun.

The kitchen and bathroom are well stocked with some special treats like wine and candy. The bedrooms are cozy with comfortable mattresses and lots of pillows. Lexington is always fun. Visit the little shops, especially the general store. In Port Huron, I’d recommend The Raven restaurant and Kate’s Downtown as well as a stop at the Fort Gratiot lighthouse. All in all, it was one of the nicest cottages on Lake Huron that we’ve stayed at. Thank you for the relaxing time!"

Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.

Looking to enjoy Lake Huron, Lexington and Croswell? Bring the kids and the dog! Or leave them at home and have this 4-bedroom, 2-bath farmhouse all to yourself.

Take a relaxing bath in the clawfoot bathtub. Hang out on the screened porch with a cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening.

Lexington beach, harbor, and shops are only 4 miles away, and there is even a walking/biking path to get there.

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to nearly three dozen countries. I I took notes of great places I stayed in, what I came to expect and what I really liked. I have incorporated those conveniences into the Farmhouse.

This house was built in 1906 in the typical “farmhouse” style of the day. It has been updated over the years. The radiant heat keeps the house very comfortable during cold months and there are room A/C units in all of the bedrooms, dining room, living room and laundry room to keep you cool during warmer months. The A/C units are removed from October 1 through April 30.

Please note that there is a Pioneer Sugar facility in town. When they are processing the sugar – usually from September through March – there may be an odor that you can smell outdoors. However, it does not run every day, and I’ve never smelled it inside the house.

Pets are welcome -- please register them when you book because there is a small cleaning fee.

There is no smoking in the house, on the porch, or on the property. This includes vaping.

Enjoy the kitchen, which is well equipped, and the coffee bar. There is also a gas BBQ on the rear porch.

The master bedroom is upstairs and has a king-sized sleigh bed.

Bedroom 2 is downstairs and features a queen-sized bed.

Bedrooms 3 and 4 are upstairs and each has bunk beds with twin size mattresses.

All mattresses are memory foam and are less than 4 years old.

The upstairs bathroom has a combination bathtub and shower. The downstairs bathroom has a clawfoot tub which is good for a relaxing bath, but no shower.

There is a washing machine and dryer in the house for guest use.

Come enjoy the small-town quaintness of the Farmhouse and the nearby Lexington beaches, shopping and restaurants.

Guests have access to the entire home except the basement, two closets and the garage.

There is plenty of parking for up to 6 vehicles in the driveway.

Child Friendly
