- "It was a nice overdue get away with my family. Spent a day at Lakeport State Park swimming and rock-hounding. The Wipp Inn property has wonderful morning views of Lake Huron that pair marvelously with a cup of coffee. The Barn Swallows will dazzle you in the am with their unique, acrobatic, circular, aerial flocking pattern and live in the sand nests right next to the lower deck on adjacent property. The steps could be tricky for an elderly person but I personally didn't mind the butt and leg work out. The property does shade quickly by mid day so the am was a great time for solace and watching barges, sailboats go by. The Garden cottage is older and does have some quirky electrical issues that I figured out fairly quickly as running the space heater on certain outlets trip the breaker and cause electricity to go out. If I was cooking bacon it was best to take fire alarm down and open the windows or it would go off. I am sure they probably at some point need electrical re-worked but the owners were great and had it all back up and running fairly quickly. The owner was nice and gave us some restaurant suggestions and let us check out late. The Windjammer at the marina ran out of food by 6pm and closed early ( I don't think they expected a big crowd for Memorial Day weekend ) Cadillac House Inn had 2 hour wait so we just hit the local tavern in town that had live music which suited us just fine. Rode my bike in AM down Townsend road and found small airport."

This log cabin, a throwback to simpler times but with some creature comforts, will allow you to unplug from cable and WiFi and enjoy the simpler things a vacation has to offer. No, there is no WiFi or cable TV at the cabin! Lake Huron, games, puzzles, books, toys, and much more are there to help you relax and reconnect with your family.

Situated just a short walk (5 driveways) on a gravel road to the incredible Lake Huron "Gold Coast" sandy beach and park. Walk into the front door of this 800 square foot cabin from the 9x21 foot front deck and you'll instantly feel relaxed and content with its hardwood floors, knotty pine walls, log beam ceilings and charming atmosphere. The 12 x 14 living room features 2 couches (one is a queen-sized sleeper sofa), a ceiling fan. This is an authentic log cabin and as such, there is no central heating or central air conditioning. There is a gas log fireplace that keeps this cabin warm and cozy on chilly nights; and 2 ceiling fans, several tower fans, and a window air conditioner to keep you cool in the summer.

The well-appointed kitchen features an electric cooktop, sink, beautiful custom wood cabinets, fully stocked with pots/pans, flatware, dishes, glasses; small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and toaster, waffle iron, crockpot, skillet, toaster oven, hand mixer, and blender. The dinette is surrounded by windows overlooking the beautiful pine trees. There are 2 bedrooms and a sleeping loft, with blankets, sheets and pillows. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed with two night stands and a supplemental heater, just in case; the second bedroom has 2 bunk beds. The loft is accessible by a wooden ladder and has a queen-sized mattress. Because of the low head room and the ladder access, this area is perfect for adventurous kids. The sofa in the living room pulls out to a queen-sized bed. The bathroom (toilet and sink) is separate from the shower/dressing room and storage.

The log shed on the property stores stack chairs, 2 bicycles and a tandem bike (and a hand air pump in case the tires need air) , beach toys, and a wagon for your convenience to take toys to the beach, plus additional storage. A 6 x 10 deck is on the north side of the cabin, ideal for reading a book and hearing the whispering of the wind in the pine trees and waves of the mighty Lake Huron. Other amenities: 5 minute walk to Willis Market (grocery store); Port Sanilac shopping, marina, and restaurants are a short distance away; city water, ceiling fans in the living area and bedroom. There is an outdoor shower off the back porch to rinse the sand off after a day of playing at the beach or outside. The living room features a flat screen TV with Blu-ray DVD player, the main bedroom has a flat screen as well. Please note: there is no cable/satellite TV, internet/WiFi at the cabin. Cellular coverage will vary by provider.

Be sure to turn the hot water switch on as soon as you arrive as it takes awhile to heat up and work. Back bedroom nice and cool with fan. Fun games and cards to play. Kitchen area is small but well stocked. Even has a griddle and waffle maker, so bring some mix! Quirky locks on some of the doors, made me feel nervous about getting stuck in rooms. Nickie was AMAZING with communication and checked on us often via text. Beach nearby within walking distance has some nostalgic playground equipment. Overall, a great stay. Kids want to come back! No WIFI. Right on beautiful Lake Huron! The beach is looking good this year, the water is down compared to last year. Bon fires on land or beach. Big front yard for volleyball. We have chairs, tables, umbrellas and a wooden chair swing. You can bike or walk to nearby Forester Park were they have a beach, ice cream, candy and play ground. You must check out the stars at night!!! Enjoy the closed in porch to watch the boats go by, the sun and moon come up! Also a must see!!! We call it the 'Million dollar view!!! You will love falling asleep to the sound of the waves outside your window!!!!!! You can't ask for anything better!!! If you love the beauty and sounds of nature, this is the place for you!! Our upstairs has no insulation so you can enjoy the sound of rain to fall asleep to. Even the storms are awesome to watch over the lake!!! You may even get a picture of a rain bow! Only 7 miles to the nearest Hospital and Veterinary. One mile south is Forester Inn bar and grill. One mile north is gas ,wood, pizza, subs, drinks and small store. Enjoy it as much as our family has since 1938!!!!! We have two new recliners in TV area and a new dvd player. You can bring your own kayaks or paddle boards to enjoy on very calm days.

The Dell Cottage has been enjoyed by our family for almost 60 years. Located just north of downtown Pt. Sanilac on a private road, you can enjoy 90 feet of lake front property. The property is 700+ ft deep which adds to the feeling of spaciousness and privacy. We hope that after your stay at the Dell Cottage, you will be as fond of it as we are.

The house sleeps 4, plus 2 on a pull out couch in the large sun room. The sun room is a beautiful living space for use in the spring, summer and fall (not heated for the winter). With a 30 foot wall of windows facing the lake, the view from sunrise to sunset is awesome!
Come and enjoy the gorgeous view of Lake Huron! Watch the freighters go by, nap in the shade in the hammock, play croquet on the lawn, horseshoes on the sandy beach, or take a long walk along the Lake Huron shore.

In the evening, build a campfire on the beach and roast marshmallows with the kids. We also suggest you just lean back and stare at the beautiful starry sky.

Golfers should try the Huron Shores Golf Club which is just a 5 minute drive north on M-25. Boaters can launch at the public launch in Pt. Sanilac. There is plenty of parking space on our property for boats and trailers.

Bring sturdy, closed toe shoes if you would like to walk in the woods. Pants are recommended. You may want to bring slippers for inside the house during the colder months.

Our property is a safe, secluded, wooded property of 25 acres in a country setting. Some of the windows of Hidden Hemlock Retreat which face the woods do not have window coverings. Please see pictures in listing. Feel free to message with any questions.

I am happy to recommend local massage therapists that are able to make house calls or have local studios. I highly recommend Heather Ferranti, NCTMB (solo practitioner), and Sue Daves (The Health Store, Sandusky). Please contact me via the VRBO messaging service for their contact information. These therapists have reasonable rates and excellent massage skills to enhance your rest and relaxation while at Hidden Hemlock Retreat.

Public, lakeshore access is less than 1 mile away on Walker Road. Go to Walker Road and park closer to M-25. Walk east. There is a short walk down a trail that leads to a sandy and river stone beach area that is for public access to the lake. This is also a Tip of the Thumb Water Trail marked site. Great place for more private beach use.

Another public, quiet beach access area is at Frenchline Road, again less than 1 mile away from Hidden Hemlock Retreat. Again, a short walk down a trail to the east that leads to a beautiful sandy public beach area. Please observe the no parking sign on the north side of the access area, and park on the south side of the access area. Enjoy the natural wonder that is Lake Huron!

- "I’ve been dreaming of this stay since last year. We had something come up and were unable to come last year but Hidden Hemlock did not disappoint. It was so cool to see the wildlife from almost any room in the house. We loved the jetted tub, fire pit, walking trails, and sauna. The ambience and general set up of the house is so nice that we did not want to leave to explore the city as all of our needs were met at the property. We loved every minute of being in the house and in the property. Also, as far as accommodations go, Halusia and Dale were great. I require the aide of a service dog… and I have had unpleasant experiences in the past with other places. Halusia and Dale were welcoming and made no fuss about having my service dog with me. I would go again in a heartbeat. The care of the house and surrounding land was impeccable. We loved our time there as I’m sure does everyone else that goes. This is a three room mother-in-law suite attached to the main house. It is a open space consisting of living room, dining and kitchen with a bedroom and full bathroom.

You will be able to use the space as you wish with respect of course, walk the ground, use the fire pit down below the hill. There is 30 feet of water front behind the pink garage. Currently rocks and sand but in the summer will have a full deck down there.

- Garbage must be bagged up, put into trash bins at the end of the drive way at departure.
- You must be 25 or older to rent this cottage
- Please note: RVs, tents, and campers are not permitted at our homes. Failure to comply will result in applicable fees.

Looking to enjoy Lake Huron, Lexington and Croswell? Bring the kids and the dog! Or leave them at home and have this 4-bedroom, 2-bath farmhouse all to yourself.

Take a relaxing bath in the clawfoot bathtub. Hang out on the screened porch with a cup of coffee in the morning or glass of wine in the evening.

Lexington beach, harbor, and shops are only 4 miles away, and there is even a walking/biking path to get there.

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to nearly three dozen countries. I I took notes of great places I stayed in, what I came to expect and what I really liked. I have incorporated those conveniences into the Farmhouse.

This house was built in 1906 in the typical “farmhouse” style of the day. It has been updated over the years. The radiant heat keeps the house very comfortable during cold months and there are room A/C units in all of the bedrooms, dining room, living room and laundry room to keep you cool during warmer months. The A/C units are removed from October 1 through April 30.

Please note that there is a Pioneer Sugar facility in town. When they are processing the sugar – usually from September through March – there may be an odor that you can smell outdoors. However, it does not run every day, and I’ve never smelled it inside the house.

Pets are welcome -- please register them when you book because there is a small cleaning fee.

There is no smoking in the house, on the porch, or on the property. This includes vaping.

Enjoy the kitchen, which is well equipped, and the coffee bar. There is also a gas BBQ on the rear porch.

The master bedroom is upstairs and has a king-sized sleigh bed.

Bedroom 2 is downstairs and features a queen-sized bed.

Bedrooms 3 and 4 are upstairs and each has bunk beds with twin size mattresses.

All mattresses are memory foam and are less than 4 years old.

The upstairs bathroom has a combination bathtub and shower. The downstairs bathroom has a clawfoot tub which is good for a relaxing bath, but no shower.

There is a washing machine and dryer in the house for guest use.

Come enjoy the small-town quaintness of the Farmhouse and the nearby Lexington beaches, shopping and restaurants.

Guests have access to the entire home except the basement, two closets and the garage.

There is plenty of parking for up to 6 vehicles in the driveway.
