The house is 15 min from a grocery store and gas station, but is very remote-- far back in the field off the road (2-3km down a farm trail from the road!). Westman islands and Eyjafjallajökull are visible from the windows,along with the owner's horses. If conditions are right, it is a perfect spot to catch the northern lights-- no light pollution at all. The entire house is heated from the floor and is adjustable in the laundry room (a washing maching and drying rack). The kitchen is very nice and has all the appliances, dishes, pots/pans/utensils, that you'll need to cook anything. All the beds and bedrooms are quite comfortable. They did a great job designing, building, and furnishing this house. This is a truly great place that you will enjoy hanging out in if a snow storm prevents you from your planned day trip. When a storm delayed our trip to Vik, we didn't care at all. The house is such a great place that we enjoyed the downtime in the comfort of this secluded house with great views of the plains, volcanoes/glaciers/islands/sky. Highly recommend this place!"
