Westman islands and Eyjafjallajökull are visible from the windows,along with the owner's horses. If conditions are right, it is a perfect spot to catch the northern lights-- no light pollution at all. The entire house is heated from the floor and is adjustable in the laundry room (a washing maching and drying rack). The kitchen is very nice and has all the appliances, dishes, pots/pans/utensils, that you'll need to cook anything. All the beds and bedrooms are quite comfortable. They did a great job designing, building, and furnishing this house. This is a truly great place that you will enjoy hanging out in if a snow storm prevents you from your planned day trip. When a storm delayed our trip to Vik, we didn't care at all. The house is such a great place that we enjoyed the downtime in the comfort of this secluded house with great views of the plains, volcanoes/glaciers/islands/sky. Highly recommend this place!"

You don´t have to go far to enjoy Icelandic nature. The house is surrounded by stacked stone walls, the walkways are made from local lava produced by the Hekla volcano eruption in February of 1693.

The house is also close to "Smáralind" and "Kringlan" Shopping Malls (less than 5 minute drive) and a 10 minute drive to Nauthólsvík beach. There are many options nearby for wonderful food and even grocery shopping. Iceland store (5 min drive) is open 24 hours for those midnight cravings.
I would recommend renting a car as driving is the best way to see the area. I can help you with rental options if you would like. Private parking spaces are provided in front of the home for your convenience. However, public transportation is great in Iceland. The closest bus stop is a 2 minute walk. Taxis are also available for hire throughout the city.

The house is easy to find at a great location in Kópavogur 15 minutes (driving distance) away from downtown Reykjavik, Iceland. The house is in great condition for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location works beautifully for a quick drive into the city and provides a good starting point for scenic drives along the coastline, the golden circle, blue lagoon, the sand planes of the east and the famous Jökulsárlón glacier at the south coast. Enjoy the amazing Mountain view and Reykjavik from the living room window or from the hot tub on the patio, and see the northern lights dance in the sky during the evening and night.

- "If you're looking for a great villa within easy reach of the airport, Reykjavik and the Golden Circle look no further. We stayed for a week in this well-furnished villa, there were 5 of us and there is ample room. The house is beautifully furnished and has all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay - wifi for the kids (1000Mb if they ask!). We stopped off at a supermarket on our way from the airport (1 hr drive from the airport to the villa), but I would recommend that you go to the house first as Ursula provides some of the basics you'll need and you may end up buying some food that you don't need. The supermarket is only 15 mins drive away. Ursula was the perfect host and is very quick to reply to any questions you have. We stayed for a week and found it a great central location for a weeks' worth of visiting some of what Iceland has to offer. If you get a chance climb the mountain that's a 5 minute drive from the villa, the views are spectacular. There's 2 paths up the mountain - keep left for the easier route and DEFINATELY wear walking boots. Don't try this with trainers, you absolutely need shoes with a good sturdy grip. Gullfoss and the Gysers are excellent and well worth a visit. If you have kids and they want a burger we can recommend Tommi's Burger joint, about 20 mins drive. Great service and fantastic food. Be warned though, Iceland is not cheap. For a family of 5 a meal out is around £90. Would I use the villa again - DEFINATELY!"

The house is also situated at 10 mins walking distance to Fridheimar restaurant which is a unique experience having your lunch in their own growing tomatoes greenhouse , or have a dinner at Mika restaurant.
Our house is superbly styled and makes is perfect for a luxurious getaway and you also can benefit of all smart devices that we have, to create your own comfort & athmosfere and control everything from our tablet ... for example you can have a relaxing bath choosing your most favorit and chilling colour or have a lovely dinner with your loved ones choosing from different types of lighting : warm , cold, colours or simply turn on the fire pit for a more relaxing athmosfere . Or how about using the fridge by playing quickly a youtube song on it while cooking your breakfast or maybe look online for a recipe for your dinner

Please note we ask for extra attention , specially with kids , for the fridge screen, electric fire pit , tv and cooker (my 4y daughter been pretty excited with all this ) , all are brand new , due to the reason that take months to be delivered and also pretty expensive .

Few details about groceries shopping : I would recommend to stop on your way to buy from a bigger supermarket from Reykjavik or Selfoss as : Bonus (cheapest), Krona, Netto, Haugkaup … we do have a petrol station just 2 mins away and have most basic stuff, a bit bigger shop about 12 mins away (and yes from both you can buy vegetables , milk etc) but both are a bit more expensive and no many varieties .. also I recommend not buying water, Iceland have one of the best tap water in the world. Please note : there will be a tablet in the house controlling all smart devices as changing colours for the lights or personalise your coffee or asking the IRobot to hoover a specific room , all orders from the tablet .

We always try our best to accommodate the schedules of our guests if an early check in / late check out it’s necessary , even if we have same day booking , as long as we can have a 4-5h gap between the reservations (big house , lots to wash/dry and clean) then we will try our best to find suitable options for everybody . Of course luggages can be dropped anytime ! Cleaning fee it’s included (it’s pretty high accually, one of the reasons the high nightly price also , the cleaning company charges about 400€ per each normal regular clean) and we don’t really ask our guests to do anything on their departure then treat our home with the same respect as they tread theirs and be tidy . I do believe it’s a fair request when staying not only at someone’s house but anywhere else really ! Don’t need to remove your rubbish at the end , don’t need to remove linen , don’t clean to wash the floor or clean the hot tub but please don’t leave dirty dishes stuck with old food , don’t treat the floor as a rubbish field and we are all good !

Note 2 : Around our house there are some constructions going on for 2 houses and usually woring hours are 8-16 , they are not there every day but i would like tiu to take in consideration if you are sleep sensitive. This constructions supposed to happen since summer 2021 but nothing accually moved forward since 2021 so we don’t know when will it happen.

The Villa:

The property has 4 bedrooms and accommodates up to 8 people. 3 Bedrooms in the main house in addition to an upper level and a guesthouse. Very large patio with hot tub and amazing scenery.

The house is very well equipped. It has a spacious living room and a very good and fully furnished kitchen with a fridge, dishwasher, gas stove and everything needed to make delicious Icelandic meals. Two bathrooms, one with a shower and doorway to the patio.

WiFi.

There is a storage/washroom with a washer which is ideal for longer stays.

On the patio is a large barbecue and as mentioned before a nice hot tub where travelers can enjoy the midnight sun (during summer) or northern lights (during winter) and rest weary bones after sightseeing during the day.

Due to large size and various bedrooms, the villa is able to accommodate different combinations of groups.

The luxury villa is perfectly located to serve as a base for day tours around the southern and western part of Iceland. It is located within the Golden Circle so sights such as Thingvellir, the Icelandic national park, Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Kerið crater are all within an hour drive from the house.

Less than 20 minutes drive from the house is Route 1, better known as the Iceland Ringroad. From there you could venture further south along the southern shore to see sights such as Reynisdrangar, Reynisfjara or visit Vík village. Further south you'll find Skaftafell and the famous Jokulsarlon (Vatnajokull glacier lagoon) as well as many other magnificent landmarks.

Iceland's capital Reykjavik is under an hour drive (appr. 45minutes) from the villa so there is no reason not to take a trip there to enjoy a variety of restaurants, bars, cafe's, museums or just to take in the sights. I also recommend restaurants in Selfoss (10minutes drive) such as Kaffi Krús and Tryggvaskáli.

The western part of Iceland is also well within reach of this house. Iceland's highest waterfall Glymur is approximately 1 1/2 hours drive from the house. Snaefellsnes peninsula is 2 1/2 drive. There you can see Snafellsjokull glacier as it towers over the top of the peninsula. In addition you can visit Djupalon and Hellnar as well as other interesting places.

- "This house was great for three couples. Three bedrooms. One big full bathroom with another bathroom with a toilet, which was perfect to have. Kitchen was equipped plus the outdoor grill. There were a few spices so when we cooked we didn’t have to purchase. The hot tub is excellent way to end the night. As far as location, we loved the private space being outside of town. The space
The property consist of two separate houses almost side by side. One is the main house 175 m2 and the smaller is 50m2.

The main house has two bathrooms and huge kitchen, one suite downstairs with sliding walls to separate from the living room. Upstairs we have sleeping areas for 8 people in an open space (loft style) divided into two spaces with sliding walls.

The smaller house has kitchen and bathroom, bedroom and living room.

Fabulous kitchen, open and easy to accommodate a large party. The only things that need attention are the grill which was broken, and the dryer did not put out enough heat to actually dry any clothes, we hung ours, but we had this issue in all three homes we rented in Iceland. In the basement you have a full bathroom, a large laundry room with a washer and a dryer as well as two showers. Please note that the basement stairs are steep.

- "The Historical House was in an ideal location and provided plenty of space to enjoy togetherness. The property manager was very quick with helpful responses. One of our daughters picked up pastries nearby every morning that we enjoyed together over the large sharing table. The kids enjoyed small sleeping areas and it was just a very comfortable situation allowing day trips to Golden Circle and The Blue Lagoon. Delightful dinners were shared nearby each evening. I would highly recommend this VRBO"
