Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let me tell you why I cannot give this place more than 1 star. The check-in process and communication with the host was abysmal. Blake gave me the door code the morning of check-in, but it was wrong, and that was the first and last time we ever heard from him. We messaged him multiple times but he never responded. We had to call VRBO support, who also couldn’t reach him, and had to give us temporary lodging. VRBO support gave me the number they had on file for Blake but it was just the Mammoth 365 Rentals number. I left multiple voicemails and a text. Eventually, I received a text back the next day with the simplest apology and the correct door code. So, I actually never even received a reply from Blake through VRBO - the text was from Mammoth 365. Once we finally checked-in, the place looked initially nice but we found the dishwasher full of dirty dishes and dirty cups in random parts of the kitchen and in the cabinets. It’s a shame because the place itself was nice but honestly, the check-in process and lack of communication ruined the trip for my group. We had planned on going to the slopes early, but couldn’t due to this fiasco. Please, do better for your next guest."

- "The property is as described and I had a very comfortable stay. The location is very convenient to shops and the Mammoth Village. In all of my previous short term rentals, the check in process was detailed in the information listing on the website. I could not find any information for this property. The day before my scheduled arrival I sent Blake two messages via VRBO. I never received any reponse. All of my other rental managers would send me a welcome email 24 hours before arrival. I had to drive 5 hours to Mammoth Lake and at 10am I called Blake. The call went to voice mail. However the message was that the mailbox for this number had not been set up. I called again at 11am. Again no answer. Only 2 hours away I called again at 1pm. Again, no answer. This caused me some anxiety wondering what could be happening. Was Blake injured and not able to communicate? What should I do when I show up at the address.? Finally at 1:41pm, Blake returns my call. He gave me a door code. Then at 1:56pm he calls me and said the door code is for the wrong unit. He said the access to my unit uses a key which will be on the kitchen counter, and the door will be unlocked when I arrived. This review would have been 5 stars if not for the frustration of trying to get in touch with Blake."
