- "This is an interesting place to stay. Let me first state that we enjoyed our time here and would visit again. This is a long-stay type of hotel. It seems like a dorm/hostel/event hosting type of place. They told me they just recently started to have short term stay guests. The room was like a studio apartment, with a kitchen and separate sleeping area. It was great to be able to make our own meals. The bed was comfortable, the shower great (although completely open to the rest of the apartment - you'd better be intimate with any roommate!), and the AC worked well. During our stay, there seemed to be groups staying there that made the environment more like a small convention. Overall, the facility was nice. The hotel neighborhood was fine during the day, but felt a little less safe at night. You're in the middle of what seems like public housing project and businesses. It's about 4km to the center of town, and the security guard there told us not to walk this but to take a bus. After driving into town we would agree with his assessment. There are huge fences around the entire property, and you have to go through a big gate to get in. We had a rental car and this was perfect - lots of free, secure parking inside the perimeter. This is a great base of operations for the area if you have a car or can coordinate with busses. It was nice and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and welcoming. This is a great option in the Avignon area and we'd recommend it!"

Antoine House is located on the 3rd floor without a lift, accessible by a wide and comfortable staircase. You will need a bit of courage to carry your luggage up.



Parking included limited to 1.90 m in height (no tall SUVs, 4x4s or campervans).



You can access the accommodation by car to drop off your luggage by driving through the alleys of the historic centre. They are narrow but perfectly manageable if you are comfortable with this type of driving.

- "I've got to break this rating into two categories: the property and the property owner. First, the flat was in the perfect location, right inside the walled city next to the happening Place Crillon. You open the green door of this 200+ year old building, climb the winding stairs to the top floor, then enter a flat with a tall ceiling, and double windows that open onto a charming street that's full of life during the day, and quiet at night. The bathroom shower is strong and instantly hot (better than our shower pressure in Santa Cruz!) and the kitchenette has every convenience if you're in a cooking mood. When you climb to your loft bed, you're treated with a super comfortable mattress. For the price point, you will not find a better accommodation offering the ambiance, comfort and convenience. Now to the host. Alain is the absolute best. His correspondence prior to my arrival was warm and welcoming (and hilarious!). When I did finally arrive, Alain was at the train station waiting for me, and provided front door service. Here's where he goes above and beyond - my first day there, believe it or not, I lost my wallet. After frantically searching through all my things, I called Alain to ask if maybe I left the wallet in his car. After searching he broke the bad news that it wasn't there. Then, he offered to loan me some money until my husband wired the cash. Me, a perfect stranger! Fortunately, I didn't need to take him up on his offer and all turned out fine. His gesture was just a testament to his character. Alain is a great guy, and his flat is wonderful. I can't wait to come back (and hold on to my friggin' wallet next time.) The studio (standing) that we offer (independent, secure entrance) is located on the ground floor of our house. It has been completely refurbished.
In a historic and residential area, it is a stone's throw from the Palais des Papes, Place de l'Horloge, many shops including Les Halles (a true temple of good food), pedestrian streets, restaurants, buses and of the main tourist sites of our beautiful city.
I used all my know-how (I worked before coming to live in the Cité des Papes on shoots in Paris as decoration) to make it as pleasant as possible. It is therefore very comfortable, bright, calm and furnished with care and taste, even in its small details: exposed beams, patinas, travertine, lime paint ... Much of the furniture and decoration is old. It was during our travels in India that we found these.
The bedding is very good and new (convertible sofa very easy to use, pillows and down comforter). Hob, hood, oven, fridge / freezer, toaster, washing machine, stereo, hair dryer, iron .. pretty dishes and plenty of storage space complete the package.
The lane in which we find ourselves is very little frequented by motor vehicles. This characteristic ensures calm and tranquility both day and night. There are also many wooded gardens all around: the countryside in town ...
Bird songs, cicadas in summer and church bells establish the sound characteristic of the place, the blue of the sky adds its color.

The apartment has been completely redone in June 2017. It consists of a studio of 25 m2 which can be made independent (with a dedicated entrance door, kitchen area etc.) and an adjoining apartment of 50 m2, with its own entrance, a large lounge, a kitchen area and a separate bedroom. The studio and the apartment communicate via a double door which can be closed if necessary. They each have a bathroom and a toilet. The whole is totally glazed thanks to 5 glazed doors (double glazing and electric shutters) on a frontage of 12 meters giving on a balcony terrace, with sight on the roofs of the Palace of the Popes and the good auspices of the Virgin Mary whose Golden statue is visible from the entire apartment. The apartment has a private garage in the basement of the building, a rare and precious luxury for those who have a vehicle.

Home
Arrivals are between 16h and 18h. A special device can be put in place in case of late arrival.
Departures are in the morning until 11am.
If I can not be present (because traveling abroad) it is my friend Sonia who will take care of the reception and will do the cleaning. Yannick will be available for any technical glitches but it is unlikely that he has to intervene because everything is new (it is he who carried out the renovation). I will always be reachable in case of emergency.

The apartment is located in the Hyper Center, 50 meters from the Place de l'Horloge and 150 meters from the Palais des Papes. We can not dream more centrally.
