- "Property was as advertised. Nicely decorated, comfortable rooms. Beds were comfy for sleeping. Would have loved a tv in the bedroom to watch before bed and a small fan for white noise because it’s a very quiet neighborhood, definitely not a requirement for staying there but something we would have utilized. Owner check on us the first night and was available for texting if something arose. We will definitely keep on our list of good places to stay when taking and picking up our student from Montclair State."

You access the apartment on the side entrance with key coded access. The entrance is the OPPOSITE side of the house from the front porch. If you are facing the front of the house, the entrance is on the left side of the house facing the teal blue house.

Montclair is an amazing place to live and I am thrilled to share my home with you. We live in walking distance to the bus and trains into New York City. Also, Montclair's Main Street was recently listed as one of the top Main Streets in the United States.

You can walk to all the wonderful restaurants, bars and shopping areas. You can also walk to Whole Foods and convenience stores. If you like to run or bike, there are beautiful parks and breathtaking paths along Montclair's tree lined streets and beautiful homes. If you rent or bring your car, you can park right on site. Otherwise, trains and buses are easily accessed. Of course, there is Lyft, Uber and taxi services. If NYC is your destination, you can walk a half a mile down the street to the Walnut Street station and jump on the Midtown Direct Line and be in the city in under 30 minutes.

Laundry, errand and daily tidying services are available for additional fees. If you would like the pantry and refrigerator stocked, you can order online and all your items will be there for you upon arrival. Fees are applicable.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking and if you need something, just ask. I am sure I have it. You can also order yourself from a local market and arrange the delivery date and time with me. There is a laundromat at 127 Grove Street, Montclair--right down the street called Grove Laundry. They also have a drop off/pick-up service that you can choose to use that is not very expensive.

- "Cute 3rd floor apartment! I opted to use just the main room (with king size bed and a tv & couch) and not use the additional bedroom. My bed was super comfy, the kitchen is just the right size with the adorable reading nook. The bathroom is funky with but it works! This rental is walking distance to all the fun shops & restaurants on Walnut Street, including Montclair Bread Company, and the (in season) Farmers Market at Walnut Station. Sherry was super responsive to my messages."

Montclair is a super cool town. This home allows you to walk to Whole Foods if you want to pick up groceries and fresh produce, restaurants/bars, the Museum and shopping all along Bloomfield Avenue. You can walk to anything and of course getting in and out of NYC is about a half a mile down the block for the train. There is Uber/Lyft which I recommend over our taxi services. NJ Transit takes you in and out of NYC. Look for the Montclair/Boonton LIne.

- "We greatly enjoyed our stay at Sherry's second floor condo. It had easy a chess through the side door and parking in a roomy lot behind the house. There was also a large fenced in yard my kids loved exploring. The unit itself was clean and inviting. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs and Sherry generously stocked it with plenty of drinks. The dining room table worked well for our 2 kids to do distance learning and the wifi was totally adequate for 4 of us to stream as needed. The living room was also very big so there was space for all of us to spread out. The bathroom is conveniently private and away from all the other spaces for privacy. Thankfully for us, Whole Foods is a 2 minute drive or 7-8 minute walk away, very close, so we could get necessary staples and prepared foods. There are also shops and restaurants in walking distance. We spent a week there and would highly recommend. Sherry was very responsive to emails and we spoke several times on site as well."

The Space:
Our renovated 4-bedroom duplex apartment is located in the heart Montclair, spanning the second and third floor of a 2-family house (the first floor is a separate apartment). Located literally 3 minutes away from NJ Transit direct into Manhattan (Penn Station) via the Walnut St station--be in Manhattan in 30-40 minutes! Private entrance to the second floor. One off street parking spot included. Situated next to a quiet stream--your own little slice of heaven!

The apartment is a 5 minute walk from Bloomfield Avenue/downtown Montclair, with a huge variety of shops, cafes, trendy restaurants and amenities. Completely renovated down to the studs, with new kitchen and furnishings. Walnut St, which is around the corner, features a brand new brewery, cafes, and shops.

A few notes on the space:
- The living area is small. It's not a huge space for congregating or entertaining, but there are several individual bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. We are also walking distance to most amenities one would want.
- This is an older home, and the stairs are steep to both the 2nd floor and 3rd floor. There's also a fairly steep, unfinished staircase to the unfinished basement to access the laundry.

This apartment is ideal for families or business rentals. Easy access to Montclair State University.

In the summer, we install window ACs in each bedroom. We do not have central air. The heating system is steam through cast iron radiators.

Guest Access:
The unfinished basement features washer and dryer, shared with the first floor apartment.

The Neighborhood:
Montclair is a trendy suburb of New York City featuring a huge array of trendy eateries, shops, theaters, and more. It has been voted numerous times as one of the most desirable areas to live in New Jersey. Above all, we are steps away from a direct train line into Manhattan Penn Station.

Getting Around:
The Walnut St station is a 3 minute walk from the house--this takes you directly into Manhattan in about 35-40 minutes (7 stops). We are also extremely close (5-10 minute walk) to dozens of restaurants, shops, cafes, grocery stores, a theater, a new brewery literally down the street, and much more.

Other Things to Note:
If you're traveling with a large group, note that this home feature two separate apartments (each rented out on a short-term basis). Let us know if you'd be interested in both apartments to accommodate your group. We'd be happy to facilitate if our calendar permits!

PARKING: Please arrange parking with us in advance, and only use off-street parking. You may be ticketed for street parking. We have one spot available for guests in the front of the home. We cannot accommodate more than 1 vehicle, and we do not have guest passes available for street parking (please do not book if you are planning on bringing more than 1 car, or contact us in advance to arrange parking).

Please note that, while renovated, this is still an older home (built over 100 years ago). As such, you may notice some imperfections. We like to think of them as added character! :)

Please, no parties. This is a quiet, residential neighborhood of mostly families with young children. Please respect our neighbors.

Interaction with Guests:
We live nearby, but generally leave guests to themselves. We are always happy to answer any questions or concerns.
