- "Property was as advertised. Nicely decorated, comfortable rooms. Beds were comfy for sleeping. Would have loved a tv in the bedroom to watch before bed and a small fan for white noise because it’s a very quiet neighborhood, definitely not a requirement for staying there but something we would have utilized. Owner check on us the first night and was available for texting if something arose. We will definitely keep on our list of good places to stay when taking and picking up our student from Montclair State."

Montclair is an amazing place to live and I am thrilled to share my home with you. We live in walking distance to the bus and trains into New York City. Also, Montclair's Main Street was recently listed as one of the top Main Streets in the United States.

You can walk to all the wonderful restaurants, bars and shopping areas. You can also walk to Whole Foods and convenience stores. If you like to run or bike, there are beautiful parks and breathtaking paths along Montclair's tree lined streets and beautiful homes. If you rent or bring your car, you can park right on site. Otherwise, trains and buses are easily accessed. Of course, there is Lyft, Uber and taxi services. If NYC is your destination, you can walk a half a mile down the street to the Walnut Street station and jump on the Midtown Direct Line and be in the city in under 30 minutes.

Laundry, errand and daily tidying services are available for additional fees. If you would like the pantry and refrigerator stocked, you can order online and all your items will be there for you upon arrival. Fees are applicable.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking and if you need something, just ask. I am sure I have it. You can also order yourself from a local market and arrange the delivery date and time with me. There is a laundromat at 127 Grove Street, Montclair--right down the street called Grove Laundry. They also have a drop off/pick-up service that you can choose to use that is not very expensive.

- "Cute 3rd floor apartment! I opted to use just the main room (with king size bed and a tv & couch) and not use the additional bedroom. My bed was super comfy, the kitchen is just the right size with the adorable reading nook. The bathroom is funky with but it works! This rental is walking distance to all the fun shops & restaurants on Walnut Street, including Montclair Bread Company, and the (in season) Farmers Market at Walnut Station. Sherry was super responsive to my messages."

It's quiet inside and tranquil out with wrap around mahogany front porch and garden patio in back. Perfect place, central to all for your stay.

All the trimmings of classic old world construction with updates and amenities blending classic with modern. 6 Large bedrooms, 3.5 full baths with one full on first floor (which is convenient), great hot water supply, 3 showers at once no issue. Kitchen with eat in bar, fully equipped for cooking. Large dining room high top table with seating for 8.

Montclair is a super cool town. This home allows you to walk to Whole Foods if you want to pick up groceries and fresh produce, restaurants/bars, the Museum and shopping all along Bloomfield Avenue. You can walk to anything and of course getting in and out of NYC is about a half a mile down the block for the train. There is Uber/Lyft which I recommend over our taxi services. NJ Transit takes you in and out of NYC. Look for the Montclair/Boonton LIne.

- "We greatly enjoyed our stay at Sherry's second floor condo. It had easy a chess through the side door and parking in a roomy lot behind the house. There was also a large fenced in yard my kids loved exploring. The unit itself was clean and inviting. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs and Sherry generously stocked it with plenty of drinks. The dining room table worked well for our 2 kids to do distance learning and the wifi was totally adequate for 4 of us to stream as needed. The living room was also very big so there was space for all of us to spread out. The bathroom is conveniently private and away from all the other spaces for privacy. Thankfully for us, Whole Foods is a 2 minute drive or 7-8 minute walk away, very close, so we could get necessary staples and prepared foods. There are also shops and restaurants in walking distance. We spent a week there and would highly recommend. Sherry was very responsive to emails and we spoke several times on site as well."

The Space:
Our renovated 4-bedroom duplex apartment is located in the heart Montclair, spanning the second and third floor of a 2-family house (the first floor is a separate apartment). Located literally 3 minutes away from NJ Transit direct into Manhattan (Penn Station) via the Walnut St station--be in Manhattan in 30-40 minutes! Private entrance to the second floor. One off street parking spot included. Situated next to a quiet stream--your own little slice of heaven!

The apartment is a 5 minute walk from Bloomfield Avenue/downtown Montclair, with a huge variety of shops, cafes, trendy restaurants and amenities. Completely renovated down to the studs, with new kitchen and furnishings. Walnut St, which is around the corner, features a brand new brewery, cafes, and shops.

A few notes on the space:
- The living area is small. It's not a huge space for congregating or entertaining, but there are several individual bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. We are also walking distance to most amenities one would want.
- This is an older home, and the stairs are steep to both the 2nd floor and 3rd floor. There's also a fairly steep, unfinished staircase to the unfinished basement to access the laundry.

This apartment is ideal for families or business rentals. Easy access to Montclair State University.

Getting Around:
The Walnut St station is a 3 minute walk from the house--this takes you directly into Manhattan in about 35-40 minutes (7 stops). We are also extremely close (5-10 minute walk) to dozens of restaurants, shops, cafes, grocery stores, a theater, a new brewery literally down the street, and much more.

Other Things to Note:
If you're traveling with a large group, note that this home feature two separate apartments (each rented out on a short-term basis). Let us know if you'd be interested in both apartments to accommodate your group. We'd be happy to facilitate if our calendar permits!

PARKING: Please arrange parking with us in advance, and only use off-street parking. You may be ticketed for street parking. We have one spot available for guests in the front of the home. We cannot accommodate more than 1 vehicle, and we do not have guest passes available for street parking (please do not book if you are planning on bringing more than 1 car, or contact us in advance to arrange parking).

Please note that, while renovated, this is still an older home (built over 100 years ago). As such, you may notice some imperfections. We like to think of them as added character! :)

The space
The house is 8 bedrooms, total of 15 rooms, 3-story, 1907 Georgian Colonial located in a nice, quiet neighborhood close to downtown Montclair. Montclair has been voted one of the best small towns in America. Most of the homes were built around 1890 to 1925 and it's a truly walk-able community known as "suburban urban". We have a small yard on 1/4 acre and enjoy gardening, so there are usually some special flowers in the spring to fall. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 girls ages 10 and 12). Price includes your own bedroom, a shared bathroom and utilities: central air conditioning/heating/water/wifi. Bedroom has a single bed, night stand, dresser, desk, chair, etc.

Guest access
You'll have your bedroom and a shared full bath on the 3rd floor. You can use the kitchen; we just ask that you keep it clean. You can use the washer and dryer in the basement.

During your stay
Your space is private. There are 4 rooms and a bathroom on the 3rd floor: your room, 1 other renter's room, the full bathroom you'll share with the other renter, our home office and an extra bedroom. Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 girls - ages 10 and 12) live on the lower floors of the house.

Other things to note
Sorry, no additional pets - we have 2 cats (Mimi & Aragorn) and a friendly dog (Fritz). They love people, and you're welcome to hang with the pets anytime.

The room faces west, so good afternoon light. The house is located in a lovely suburb of New York city (14 miles west of NYC). Buses to NY at the end of the block (2 minutes walk) & trains to NY from nearby stations (5-10 minutes away by foot, bike or car). We are 10 minutes to Montclair State University, 25 minutes to Newark airport. Montclair was voted one of the best suburbs in America. You can walk to the center of town for restaurants, coffee shops, gyms, shops, movies, library and more.

The space
The house has 15 rooms (4 floors total including the basement). Your room is on the 3rd floor, with proper stairs (in fact, there are 2 separate staircases between the 1st and 3rd floors - main stairs and 'servants stairs' as the house was built in 1906). The room has a large closet, hard wood floors with a plush area rug. Queen bed with new mattress. Central air conditioning with the option of a window air conditioner if preferred. Share the bathroom with 1 other renter. The 3rd floor is quiet - has this bedroom, 1 guest bedroom (rarely used), 1 office (rarely used), and 1 room used by a long-term renter. We have high-speed wifi (I work from home, so it was essential). You have full use of the kitchen. We have a pool in the summer.

Guest access
You have access to the laundry room in the basement and use of the kitchen as well. You're welcome to use the outside spaces when we're not using them.

During your stay
The house is huge. We have enjoyed casual conversations with renters as we prepare and eat meals in the kitchen. You're welcome to interact with us, but you don't have to do so. We're always accessible by text/phone/email and can quickly remedy any issues. We have Nest controlled thermostats and smart locks, so it's easy to take care of small things quickly.

A 3rd floor suite in a single family home in beautiful historic Montclair. The space has its own private bath, kitchenette amenities and is walking distance to many local shops / restaurants and is convenient to NYC train transportation.

The space
Pleased to offer private rooms on the 3rd floor of a craftsman style home circa 1902. There is a queen bed in room #1, the sitting room has a day bed/couch, chairs, and desk plus kitchenette amenities (mini-fridge, microwave and coffee pot for your convenience), plus a large walk-in closet and private bath.
Breakfast is typically fruit and muffins or bagels. Please advise of any allergies.
Montclair is a vibrant town near NYC.We are walking distance to downtown with shops, restaurants, the Montclair Art Museum and the Wellmont Theater. We are 12 miles west of NYC, 4.5 miles south of Montclair State University and 6 miles north of Seton Hall University.
Public transportation is nearby: the Decamp bus #66 to NYC (1 block) and NJ Transit Bay Street Station (1 mile). Bus and train rides area about 40 minutes to NY.
Off-street parking for (1) car is included. Additional on-street parking passes can be obtained for an additional fee.
We have (2) cats and a dog who will greet you (well the dog will at least, the kitties are a bit shy). We look forward to making you comfortable.

Please note that this is an older home and the stairs to the 3rd floor are steeper than normal. If 8" stair risers are an issue this may not be the space for you. There are air conditioners and ceiling fans in all the rooms. Also, we do have a cat and a dog. They are not allowed in the air bnb rooms on the 3rd floor, obviously, but the dog will come to the front door as you come in (He is usually hoping that guests will throw him a treat from the jar by the door). If you are afraid of dogs then this may not be a good fit. Lastly, due to Covid19 we are limiting space to just 1 guest. Thanks!

Silke and her family welcome you to their over 100 year old wooden house. This cute bedroom is on the third floor in the attic and can sleep 2 guests. There is a small bathroom right across the hallway and a second ultra-modern bathroom on the second floor. Depending on occupancy you will get eigther one of the bathrooms. A second bedroom can be rented in addition.

It’s a family house composed of apartments, each with its own entrance. This studio doesn’t include a parking garage, but street parking is available and easy to manage with paid options : Parking Vantage Montclair is the website and offers affordable parking at just $5 per night and half a day. It’s a lower ceiling. Not recommended for tall people. Be careful with entrance because has stairs to going down . No windows

Kindly note: the main entrance has a low ceiling, which might be uncomfortable for very tall guests or those with mobility or back concerns.
Also, the studio does not have windows, so it may not be ideal for guests who are sensitive to enclosed spaces. We recommend checking the photos to ensure it’s a good fit for your needs.

The studio is best suited for guests up to 5.6 feet tall. The ceiling height varies between 5.8 and 9.0 feet in different areas. For this reason, we do not recommend the space for very tall guest over 5.6 feets .

Please note: the entrance has steps very close to the door, so extra caution is needed when entering.

The shower is a side-mounted style due to the ceiling height.

This space is also NOT recommended for children, due to the layout and safety considerations.

Nestled in beautiful Upper Montclair on a tree lined quiet road, the basement apartment has a good amount of light and space. Fully furnished, clean and ready to move in. This home is minutes from public transportation to New York city! The walk to the bus and train to NYC is through a gorgeous park! Upper Montclair also has a lovely shopping and restaurant downtown. Walk through the beautiful Anderson park for a short 7-8 min walk and arrive at the lovely shopping area.

I have a 1907 home in Montclair NJ and the studio apartment is in my home. It has a bed (for 2 people), two large work desks, a small fridge and all the rest of the furniture with an attached full bathroom. My house is old and quaint but is completely redone fairly recently. The kitchen you see in the pictures listed it on a floor directly above the studio apartment and is shared with me. The studio is completely private and even has a separate main door into a private garden.
Beautiful parks, restaurants, cafes, a grocery store and even a lovely downtown with shops is minutes away from my home. Also a bus and train which takes about a half hour to reach New York city is minutes away.
Only certain dogs and cats are allowed (no guard dogs are allowed).

This place is centrally located in the heart of Montclair close to all of the stores and restaurants. This kids' bedroom features a luxury comfortable full-size bed and a bathroom that may be shared. An upgrade is available to add a state of the art projector that crisp clear and take up the entire wall for an additional $7 a night. It features Netflix , Samsung TV , and Disney. Please request it if interested.

• Bathroom Condition: The bathroom ceiling has some peeling due to a recent storm. Repairs are scheduled in the coming months. Overall it’s still a nice bathroom.
• Toiletries: Only toothpaste, natural soap (Doctor Bonners liquid soap ) shampoo and conditioner will be provided. Please refrain from using other cosmetics or personal products in the bathroom.

• Storage Space: The room does not include a closet or drawers, so please plan accordingly. A clothing rack will be provided for hanging clothing. Wet towels should be hung in the bathroom or on the coat rack—please do not place them on cloth chairs or other furniture. For long-term stays (two weeks or more), I can provide a rolling closet rod upon request.
• Noise Levels: Please keep noise levels down and gently close the bedroom and bathroom doors during quiet hours (11 PM – 8 AM), especially if another guest or the host is occupying the other room. Communication cards will be provided to hang on your door to indicate your status (e.g., “Away,” “Here,” “Sleeping,” etc.).
• Smoke-Free Policy: This is a smoke- and vape-free home. Smokers and vapers are not welcome—even if they plan to smoke or vape off the property. If you smoke, please book alternative accommodations. Central Air Conditioning

During the summer months, central air will be turned on when the indoor temperature rises above 75°. Please note that the central air system controls the entire house at one set temperature—it cannot be adjusted by room.

If you prefer a cooler or warmer setting, feel free to use the fan provided in your room or let me know your temperature preference, and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

For guests who tend to run warm or prefer more control over their room temperature, I recommend booking the room with a window AC unit, which can be adjusted independently.

Your comfort matters—just communicate your needs if you prefer cooler just let me know and I’ll try my best to accommodate.


Care for Towels and Linens:
Guests are asked to be mindful when using towels and linens. For short-term stays, please limit use to one towel per guest. Additional towels will be provided for long-term stays. Avoid using makeup or products that may stain white towels and linens. A $10 cleaning fee will be charged for stained items. If a stain cannot be removed, the fee increases to $20.

To help prevent issues, please use makeup wipes or disposable cloths before using towels and linens. This also applies to sleeping on pillowcases or leaning on the cloth headboard with wet, color-treated hair. Thank you for your understanding!

Parking – Please Read Carefully:
For guests arriving by car, please note that this listing is located in the heart of Montclair’s business district, not a residential neighborhood. That means you won’t be able to pull up directly in front of the property and a short walk from your parking spot should be expected.
There is free street parking during the day, but overnight parking (2AM–5AM) requires a permit. You have a few convenient options:
• Permit Parking: $5 per night/day in the nearby outdoor lot
• Parking Garage: $7 per 12 hours or $10 per 24 hours in the enclosed deck
Both are just a short walk from the listing.

Long-term guests may purchase monthly permits for $45, valid only for the month purchased (same price whether you buy on the 1st or 20th).

If direct curbside access is important to you, I suggest booking a listing on a residential street. Otherwise, enjoy being just steps away from Montclair’s best shops, cafes, and attractions—and thank you in advance for your patience when it comes to parking logistics in this central location. Relax after a busy, fun-filled day exploring New York City in your own private space with your own bathroom (albeit very small), bedroom, living room, and kitchenette. There's a microwave to heat up those delicious leftovers from that great restaurant, a refrigerator, kitchen sink, a toaster, and an electric kettle to boil water for your morning coffee or tea. Whole Foods grocery store is up the avenue where you can buy provisions and supplies. Pharmacies and specialty shops are also on or near the avenue. Note that the bathroom is small and may be a tight squeeze for large people, though, Peter is 6'2" and no longer skinny and he fits.

The apartment is on the third floor of our home. When you come onto the front porch, your entrance is the gray door on the left. We are on the first or main floor at the main door. It is self check in with keyless entry. You will receive codes and instructions the day before you come and the address from Airbnb on arrival day. To unlock, push the Schlage button on top and the numbers will light up. Enter the code and push down the lever to open the front door. Leave the lock switch inside in horizontal position so the door automatically locks behind you.
For the 3rd floor, enter the code but turn the knob on the lock then turn the door knob. Upon leaving, shut the door, push the Schlage button and twist the knob to lock. Alternatively, you can enter the code and turn the knob to lock it also.

Other things to note
There is parking for one car. Also, there is a large parking garage at the end of the street.
This is a 3rd floor apartment with 3 flights of stairs.

The guest room is strategically tucked away down a private corridor, offering added privacy away from the common areas of the home. While guests and hosts share the same entrance, they occupy separate floors, ensuring a comfortable and independent experience. Please note: there is an additional Airbnb room upstairs that may occasionally be booked by another guest.

Short-term guests will have access only to their private bedroom and bathroom. Other areas of the home, such as the kitchen and dining room (shown in photos), are reserved for long-term guests staying one week or more, with prior host approval. The living room seating area is always off-limits. Long-term guests are welcome to use the dining area for meals, but using the dining table as a workstation requires the host’s consent.

This secluded bedroom and bathroom offers a peaceful retreat away from the common areas of the home, perfect for guests who prefer minimal interaction. It provides an ideal setting for privacy and relaxation. The bedroom features a luxurious and comfortable Tempur-pedic king-size bed, a Sony TV with Netflix (no cable or local channels), a spacious desk, a cozy lounging chair, a microwave, a fridge, and a storage cabinet with dishes and utensils. The bathroom has a natural stone mat for ultimate cleanliness and a towel warmer. There is plenty of room for guests to store non-perishable snacks and groceries.

In addition, long-term guests ( two weeks or more) will have access to the kitchen if needed. However, stove usage is not included, except for long-term guests who have received approval from the host to use the stove and assigned pots. For guests' convenience, there is a private small fridge and microwave in the bedroom. The living room is excluded.

Fresh towels and linens will be provided for guests' convenience. Please limit one towel per guest for short term stays. For long-term stays exceeding two weeks, an optional cleaning fee of $35 per week is available. If long-term guests prefer not to opt for professional deep cleaning, they are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of their room and bathroom. This includes regular dusting, keeping the bedroom floors and bathroom clean, as well as properly maintaining dishes and disposing of garbage. Cleaning will be provided for free if cleaning ladies are scheduled during a long term stay. Professional and commercial videography and photography are prohibited at this listing.

This is a smoke and vape free home, smoking and vaping is not permitted anywhere on the premises, including outside the property. For any smoking violations in or around the home, there will be a $400 violation fee if pillows and comforters smell like smoke.

- Energy Conservation: Please turn off all lights and the air conditioner (during summer) when leaving for 20 minutes or more. If it’s left for a long period of time (one hour or more ) guests may be subject to additional charges. This room has a window AC unit


Parking – Please Read Carefully:
For guests arriving by car, please note that this listing is located in the heart of Montclair’s business district, not a residential neighborhood. That means you won’t be able to pull up directly in front of the property and a short walk from your parking spot should be expected.
There is free street parking during the day, but overnight parking (2AM–5AM) requires a permit. You have a few convenient options:
• Permit Parking: $5 per night/day in the nearby outdoor lot
• Parking Garage: $7 per 12 hours or $10 per 24 hours in the enclosed deck
Both are just a short walk from the listing.

Long-term guests may purchase monthly permits for $45, valid only for the month purchased (same price whether you buy on the 1st or 20th).

If direct curbside access is important to you, I suggest booking a listing on a residential street. Otherwise, enjoy being just steps away from Montclair’s best shops, cafes, and attractions—and thank you in advance for your patience when it comes to parking logistics in this central location. Instructions will be sent after your booking is confirmed.

Check-in time - check in begins at 3PM, If you have an idea of your check-in time, please indicate it when making your booking. For advance bookings, guests can provide this information closer to the date or 12 hours before check in. If guests don’t indicate their check in time. I will schedule it according to the cleaners availability.

Request for early check-in and late check-out: Guests requesting early check-in two hours or more before the 3PM check-in time will be charged an additional $10 per hour. Requests for an hour earlier check-in at 2PM will be free based on availability. Late check-out requests will be charged $25 for the first hour after 12PM then $10 for each additional hour based on availability. Bag storage is available for free.


Communication - Guests are required to respond promptly to any questions or requests for details from the host regarding their reservation. This includes providing an estimated check-in time at least 24 hours before arrival. For same-day bookings, questions should be answered prior to check-in. Failure to respond in a timely manner may result in the host suggesting a check in time or denying your reservation for non communication. Refunds will be subject to the host's discretion. Therefore, please ensure that you provide a reachable contact number and respond to messages promptly especially for same day bookings.

Visitors - If you plan to have visitors who are not listed on the reservation, please inform me in advance before they enter the house. If an unauthorized guest is staying at the listing without notifying me there will be an extra $50 fee in addition to the extra guest fee.

Care for Towels, Linens, and Furniture

We kindly ask guests to treat towels, linens, and furniture with care. For short-term stays, please limit use to one towel per guest. Additional towels will be provided for long-term stays.

To help us maintain the quality of our white towels and linens, please avoid using them to remove makeup or apply products that may cause stains.

If any towels or linens are returned with stains, a $10 cleaning fee will apply. If the stain is permanent or cannot be removed, a $20 replacement fee—or the cost of the damaged item—will be charged.

To help prevent any issues, we recommend using makeup wipes or disposable cloths before using the towels and linens. This also goes for sleeping on pillows with wet colored treated hair. Thank you for your understanding!

The same applies to furniture. Any soiling or spills, such as wine or other liquids, that result in damage to the couch, bed , or carpet may also incur a cleaning or replacement fee.

Pets – Please keep pets off the furniture and bed. If your dog sheds, kindly let me know in advance so I can cover the furniture in the room. If it excessively sheds please book another accommodation. Small dogs under 10 pounds pay half of the pet fee. Price will be adjusted after check in. If your dog is under ten pounds please let me know so I can verify to issue the discount.

I prefer to meet all guests before they check in. Please take your shoes off at the door , no outside shoes are permitted walking throughout the house. Please watch out for the plants with luggage and large backpacks.

Security: Outdoor security cameras are installed for the safety of both guests and the host. Additionally, there is one indoor nanny cam located in the common area, facing the entrance and living room. It does not monitor any private or sleeping areas used by guests. This is a precautionary safety measure to ensure awareness in the event of an emergency.

Lost or Unreturned Key Fee:
A fee of $150 will be charged for any lost or unreturned keys. This covers the cost of rekeying the property and ensuring the security of future guests. Please return all keys before check-out.

Each room in the house is rented separately. This is a modernized cape cod house surrounded with trees and greenery, filled with interesting art, comfortable beds (including one sofa-bed) and cozy shared areas inside and out. It is situated on a lovely quiet street, close to the train and the bus to NYC. You will be getting any room available at the time you book. Bathroom is sometimes shared with one other party, depending on occupancy.

Guests are welcome to use the living room, the deck and the backyard. The kitchen and the dining room are available as well if you want to prepare or reheat your own meals or snacks.
There is a voluntary daily fee of $5 for cooking lunch and/or dinner/per family. You are welcome to use my condiments and cooking oils, cooking pans and all amenities. All guests are asked to leave the kitchen in the condition they found it by following the “rules” found printed on the fridge.
Frying meat or fish are not encouraged due to open plan of the kitchen. Using the ovens ar fine , windows need to be open and the floor fan should be used to blow the smells out when meats are baked.
Tabaco Smokers are not allowed.

No Smoking: Smoking is not allowed inside the house or on the balcony. An additional cleaning fee will apply if this rule is violated.
Registered Guests Only: For safety and security, only the guests included in the booking are permitted to stay in the house. No visitors or unregistered individuals are allowed.
Please respect shared spaces such as laundry facilities. Avoid loud noises and be mindful of neighbors at all times.

No smoking: This is a smoke-free unit. A $1,000 fee will apply if any smoking occurs in the house.

Policy violations:

The apartment was fully redone from the floors to the ceilings. we wanted to make sure each guest has everything they can think of when arriving.
