The property has had many prominent guests during its time as the meeting place for The Forest Club, who's members included Sir Walter Scott, Mungo Park and Prince Leopold of the Belgians.

Under private family ownership since the end of June 2018, our enthusiastic and dedicated team are a valuable asset, and we encourage and enable the personal development of all our staff so that we may provide products and services which will delight our customers.

We have an ongoing and extensive program of refurbishments and upgrades in progress and we have scheduled these with first class, local tradesmen so as not to disturb our guests or detract from your enjoyment of our hospitality.

We are "dog friendly", and your well-behaved four-legged friends will be welcome in our lounge area as well as your bedroom or our courtyard garden (weather permitting). Children and young persons are also welcome at all times.

We have a combination of single, double, twin, family and executive rooms, all ensuite. Please be advised that none of our rooms offer disabled access and it will be necessary for you to climb and descend stairs. Our Property History

"The Coonty", as it is affectionately known by the townsfolk, is located at the heart of this thriving Borders market town is proud to be a supporter of many local organization's and charitable societies. Its earliest beginnings are traceable to 1746 and remains an important part of Selkirk's history. In earlier times the property operated under the name "The Grapes Inn".

The property has had many prominent guests during its time as the meeting place for The Forest Club, who's members included Sir Walter Scott, Mungo Park and Prince Leopold of the Belgians.

Under private family ownership since the end of June 2018, our enthusiastic and dedicated team are a valuable asset, and we encourage and enable the personal development of all our staff so that we may provide products and services which will delight our customers.

We have an ongoing and extensive program of refurbishments and upgrades in progress and we have scheduled these with first class, local tradesmen so as not to disturb our guests or detract from your enjoyment of our hospitality.

We are "dog friendly", and your well-behaved four-legged friends will be welcome in our lounge area as well as your bedroom or our courtyard garden (weather permitting). Children and young persons are also welcome at all times.

We have a combination of single, double, twin, family and executive rooms, all ensuite. Please be advised that none of our rooms offer disabled access and it will be necessary for you to climb and descend stairs. This is a listed building and neither the design nor the regulations will allow us to make the significant alterations that would be necessary to enable a lift to be installed.

Each of our bedrooms are comfortable and functional. Feather light duvets, fine Egyptian cotton linen, complimentary biscuits, tea and coffee making facilities along with digital flat screen televisions are to be found in every room.

All of our bedrooms have a good size working desk, and free good WI-FI internet access. The executive rooms are fresh and modern with large walk-in power showers and king sized beds.
