Welcome to our historic home on the West End in Hartford with many original fixtures & finishings & original hardwood floors with vaulted ceilings, a cozy backyard with a magical ancient tree, & is surrounded by mini-mansions in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Hartford. The home is walkable to transit and restaurants. Nice touches include endless hot water (tankless), The bed and desk with chair are virtually staged for now.

The space
This space is a finished and furnished attic. It features a king bed, a desk, and an office chair. A small window faces the backyard shed and a 150-year-old sycamore tree. One wall is shared with another bedroom. BASIC BUDGET STAY! We provide a free space heater in this room because it does not have a radiator.

Laundry: Shared laundry area is free, bring your own soap.
Curtains: All listings feature blackout curtains for comfort.
Guests: No guests except for guests registered on guest list, we enforce this strongly to make sure the place is secure and comfortable.
WiFi: 100mb fiber WiFi is available throughout.
AC/Heat: AC is free with 24 hour request May 1 - October 30. Box fans are available with 24 hour request. We keep the heat at 68 in winter and space heaters are available to rent for $3/day if you need additional heat, we monitor electrical usage and you may not provide your own space heater.
Bathrooms: There are 4 bathrooms throughout. 2 are accessible to you with toilet + tub.
Cams: We have cameras exterior to the listing.
Door locks: This is a 120 year old historic, exterior listing door locks are provided by guests not host, please purchase a "door knob lockout device" from amazon if you need one, they are $20. An interior privacy door chain can be installed upon request before or during your stay.
Parking: Parking is very easy and not competitive on the street and street cleaning is once a week (message for details).
Kitchen: There is a kitchen exterior to the listing that is available for your use.

Noise: The place is overall quiet and respectful however we currently have a bathroom undergoing a remodeling and we are replacing siding outside and painting, possible noise during your stay. In November 2024 we are starting floor sanding in the building (vibrations/dust/banging). We play white noise in hallways for privacy.
Cleanliness: The building is cleaned when there is a checkout. The building is not cleaned during your stay, but we do refresh the kitchens and bathrooms weekly.
"Karen" WARNING: The building is professionally cleaned, but we have disclaimers on the listing to provide a realistic expectation, as the building is old, has some improvements ongoing, and has bathtub and white noise. If you get your nails or hair done at a Salon, or spend more than $25 getting your hair cut, this place is not for you. We are trying to provide an affordable weekly/monthly stay, for low-maintenance people. YES the place is cleaned and safe, NO we do not want your business if you are bringing unrealistic expectations of what you are paying for, a hotel in the area would be $6000 for the month, so bring REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS for a basic clean stay with just the bare necessities. We do have both males and females in the building. Airbnb does not mean some high end perfect place, there are many different experiences on the Airbnb platform! Having said that we will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible, but not with unrealistic expectations.

The home is walkable to transit and restaurants. Nice touches include endless hot water (tankless), a new washer and dryer, & gigantic bedrooms throughout.

The space
This room on the 3rd fl is extra large, features a small desk and chair, and a luxury king mattress, and shares one small portion of a wall with another bedroom. Views face the street and has a view of downtown hartford and a historic mature purple maple tree.

Laundry: Shared laundry area is free, bring your own soap.
Curtains: All listings feature blackout curtains for comfort.
Guests: No guests except for guests registered on guest list, we enforce this strongly to make sure the place is secure and comfortable.
WiFi: 100mb fiber WiFi is available throughout.
AC/Heat: AC is free with 24 hour request May 1 - October 30. Box fans are available with 24 hour request. We keep the heat at 68 in winter and space heaters are available to rent for $3/day if you need additional heat, we monitor electrical usage and you may not provide your own space heater.
Bathrooms: There are 4 bathrooms throughout. 2 are accessible to you with toilet + tub.
Cams: We have cameras exterior to the listing.
Door locks: This is a 120 year old historic, exterior listing door locks are provided by guests not host, please purchase a "door knob lockout device" from amazon if you need one, they are $20. An interior privacy door chain can be installed upon request before or during your stay.
Parking: Parking is very easy and not competitive on the street and street cleaning is once a week (message for details).
Kitchen: There is a kitchen exterior to the listing that is available for your use.

DISCLAIMERS:

Noise: The place is overall quiet and respectful however we currently have a bathroom undergoing a remodeling and we are replacing siding outside and painting, possible noise during your stay. In November 2024 we are starting floor sanding in the building (vibrations/dust/banging). We play white noise in hallways for privacy.
Cleanliness: The building is cleaned when there is a checkout. The building is not cleaned during your stay, but we do refresh the kitchens and bathrooms weekly.
"Karen" WARNING: The building is professionally cleaned, but we have disclaimers on the listing to provide a realistic expectation, as the building is old, has some improvements ongoing, and has bathtub and white noise. If you get your nails or hair done at a Salon, or spend more than $25 getting your hair cut, this place is not for you. We are trying to provide an affordable weekly/monthly stay, for low-maintenance people. YES the place is cleaned and safe, NO we do not want your business if you are bringing unrealistic expectations of what you are paying for, a hotel in the area would be $6000 for the month, so bring REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS for a basic clean stay with just the bare necessities. We do have both males and females in the building. Airbnb does not mean some high end perfect place, there are many different experiences on the Airbnb platform! Having said that we will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible, but not with unrealistic expectations.
