AC in both bedrooms and another in the living room. The neighborhood was quiet and we felt safe during our stay. The driveway has a designated spot. However, it is only big enough for one large vehicle ( we had a super duty truck) or 2 small cars. The bathroom was equipped with plenty of towels and even had a little travel kit available if you left some items behind. The only suggestion we all have for the bathroom is to install safety handles for the shower. The very deep tub while amazing if you wanted a nice bath was challenging to get in and out of especially with a slippery tub. Our host was very accommodating and returned messages quickly. The space
Use the Elizabeth St sidewalk. At the stairs, take a right and follow the brick paver walkway to the back of the house. There you'll find your private entrance, a white door with keypad lock. Once inside, you'll enter a mudroom where you can leave your shoes, coats, luggage and even bicycles. then into the main space which is furnished and decorated with care.

The fully functional kitchen is equipped with an induction burner, Breville toaster oven, microwave, Keurig, custom wooden countertops, pots, pans, dishes and everything you might need to prepare a meal.

This is a renovated basement apartment which has a new mini-split so it stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It’s also light and bright with windows in the main space, and a large atrium window (which also functions as an emergency exit) with a blackout shade in the bedroom. We’re obsessed with atmosphere so there are sliders on all the light switches, as well as standing and table lamps to help you get the lighting just right.

There’s a super comfortable queen bed and sleeper sofa with luxury bedding to sleep 4, and high speed Wifi, so you can work at either the dining table or work nook, and stream shows or movies with the Roku.

The garden path has solar lights for nighttime safety. The backyard is a shared use space. When the weather is good, you can use the brick patio in the garden for relaxation.

Our farm is a quiet, 5+ acre haven one mile from the center of Easthampton and 8-12 minutes to Smith College/Northampton. It's a great base from which to explore all the restaurants, cultural and outdoor activities offered in the beautiful Pioneer Valley.
The private apartment is on the first level of our rustic farmhouse and offers a kitchenette, living room, queen bedroom and bathroom. (An additional bedroom is also available-see separate listing for 2BR).

The space

The private apartment is on the first level of our rustic farmhouse. You will enter the apartment into the spacious living room with a dining area on one side and a comfy couch for watching TV or reading on the other side.

The kitchenette is off the living room and contains all essentials for basic cooking and meal prep including: toaster oven, microwave, two-burner hot plate and all necessary cookware, dishes and utensils.

The bedroom has a queen bed with two closets. There's plenty of space to unpack onto the shelves or to hang nicer items. There is also a small shelf/desktop that will hold a laptop computer. (An additional small bedroom with full size bed is also available. See separate listing for our 2 bedroom apt.)

There is one bathroom directly across from the queen bedroom. The shower is a claw foot tub which requires you to step over a ledge and into it. It's best for those who are steady on their feet and do not require a shower bar or something to lean on while getting in and out. The shower head is low and may not be comfortable for someone close to six feet tall or higher, however there is a handheld shower head to assist. Please note: showers are plenty warm but baths are not possible as we have an on-demand water heater which will not heat a full tub of water.

The heat works very well in the apartment! You won't be cold in winter; bring a t-shirt. In the summer we have a window air conditioner in the bedroom ONLY.

Please note: The space has been refurbished but the building itself is almost 200 years old. If you are sensitive to old buildings or have severe allergies, this may not be the right place for you.

Drive slowly up the long driveway, it's very bumpy.
The house is a work in progress and pretty rustic looking on the outside (for now). DON'T WORRY, inside is really nice!

Easy parking is just outside the front door. The apartment is the one-story "wing" to the right of the external staircase. Enter through the sun porch and go through the purple door.

Other things to note
Our farm is a former organic flower farm and spiritual commune that fell into disrepair under the previous owners. We are in the process of bringing it back to its former glory; inside the house is much better than outside! The house is set back from the road and privacy remains intact, be prepared for rustic charm. You're welcome to wander the grounds or look for fat frogs in the pond.

Mindy lives on the farm and manages the property (and does all the hard work). Allison comes and goes with the tide but is always connected via the interwebs.

A cozy, comfortable, studio flat with ready access to local music venues and restaurants. Downtown Northampton is 15 mins by car or a 1/2 hr bike ride. We abut the bike path and there's a Valley Bike Share kiosk nearby. Ideal overnight spot for visiting Smith and other area colleges or for attending workshops at Snow farm. Easy day trips the Berkshires. Plenty of area hiking! Perfect personal retreat spot! I accept dogs on a case by case basis, small dogs preferred and I cannot accept cats.

The space
I am a carpenter and have lovingly re-crafted this beautiful old house. Restoring it to it's original aesthetic and charm, while improving and modernizing its infrastructure. Our studio rental sits under the same roof as our home and has its own private front and back entrances, both of which offer a place to sit and relax.

The studio is outfitted with handsome custom built cabinets and counters and a new bathroom. The kitchen, with its dorm size refrigerator, is fully equipped and has a sweet dining corner. The remainder of the space is taken up with a comfortable double bed and sitting area where you can kick back with a good book or just unwind for a spell.

Check in at the front door of the house or self check in with keypad though private apartment entrance in the rear of the house. The apartment is an in-law suite in the walkout basement of our house with beautiful garden view, private patio with grill. Our backyard receives a lot of migratory birds and you can enjoy bird watching from the bedroom window or patio.

Our sunny apartment is located midway between Northampton and the Berkshires, in a lovely rural setting. The kitchen, bath and studio living area are in a private apartment, surrounded by 12 acres of open fields.
The kitchen is well equipped and includes all the makings for tea and coffee. Orange juice, oatmeal, English muffins and homemade granola are also provided!

The space
My husband and I live on the property, and our home is connected to the apartment by an open-air breezeway (see photos).

In addition to extensive gardens that produce seasonal fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs, our small acreage is home to a working flower farm, which hosts flower gathering events on late summer weekends. Please feel free to wander!

I’m also a baker, and offer a handful of baked goods that you may special order prior to your visit. I’ll deliver them to your door!

Other things to note
1. You definitely need a car to stay here. We live in a rural area - no taxis or Uber!
*If you are visiting in the winter, please note that we do get quite a bit of snow and our driveway has a bit of a slope, so please be prepared with appropriate tires, ice scrapers, etc.

2. We have a small and friendly dog, Harriet. She occasionally helps clean the apartment, so if you have severe allergies, another lodging option may be better for you.

3. The stairs leading to the second floor have a wall-mounted hand-rail and safety treads, but there are no railings on the kitchen side of the stairs, as seen in the photos.

4. There is ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING in the apartment or anywhere on the property. If you are a smoker, another lodging option may be better for you.
