Walk up the wide stairs into your own personal high end oasis. Quarter & Rift sawn white oak floors span The Penthouse with beautiful and comfortable furniture from Design within Reach and Rove Concepts. The Chef's kitchen features custom walnut cabinetry, Waterworks hardware, Bertazonni stove and dishwasher, Fisher & Paykel fridge and dishes and flatware from Williams Sonoma.

Two Large Screen LG OLED Smart TV's, one in the great room and one in the primary suite are available. High speed Wifi will keep you connected, but if you want to unplug we have Chess, Checkers, Backgammon and other board games to enjoy.

The primary suite features a king bed, walk in closet and ensuite bath with radiant floors and zero entry shower. In addition to the primary suite, The Penthouse boasts a guest bedroom with king bed and large closet. Off the great room is a second guest bedroom with two double beds allowing for accommodation of up to 6 guests. A washer and dryer is available for guest use.

Our place is a central location in Berkshire County, short drive to restaurants and shops; art and culture, skiing and hiking also close by. You’ll love this former train station( next to the Housatonic RR tracks) which is on three acres between a chapel, the scenic Housatonic River and October Mountain. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

Entrance is off a rear deck to a shared entrance foyer. There are three steps from the driveway to the deck and one step into the foyer. Your room is off the foyer, and with the bathroom is fully contained . You will be given keys for the foyer door and the door to your room. You also can control the heat in your room. You have a coffee maker, microwave and a small refrigerator. Iron and ironing board available on request.

Former train station, converted to apartments, is on 3 acres next to the Housatonic Railroad tracks. It is located between a chapel, the scenic Housatonic River and October Mountain. Entrance is off a deck to a shared foyer. You will be given keys to the foyer and the door of this second floor apartment. You control the temperature in the unit. There is a Keurig coffee maker with a supply of coffee needs for the first night. Dishes, pots and pans, toaster, microwave are all provided for your use. There is no dishwasher but a dish drainer and soap is provided. There is an iron and ironing board.

The space
Thanks so much for your interest in our apartment. This private guest apartment is attached to the main house where I live with my husband and 3 kids, Mia - 10, Ari - 13 & Nico - 15. The apartment has it's own private entrance and balcony off the living room that overlooks our beautiful back yard. The kitchen is on the first floor when you enter the space and the large living room, cozy bedroom and large bath are up a short set of stairs. The large bath has just been fully renovated and is beautiful! There is a full washer and dryer in a closet in the kitchen. The large living room, bathroom and bedroom are located above our 2 car garage so it is set away from the main part of the house. Its your own private retreat yet close to all to explore about the Berkshires.

We have a beautiful back yard with a cute chicken coop:) We will leave you fresh eggs too! Our hens, Soul, TT, Luna, Lolo, Lola, Curry, Sunny, Magic and Coco are super friendly.

Other things to note
The kitchen does not have a stove. However, there is an electric frying pan, toaster oven, microwave and an electric hot pot to boil water. Plus we are located in downtown Lenox, a 2 minute walk to all the great restaurants!

There is outdoor seating available along with a grill and a portable fire pit. I keep those items in the shed in the backyard. If you request I will pull them out in advance. I normally put them away after use.

Our two story apartment is spacious and cozy all in one. Built in 1910, this charming home has been updated to create a more modern feel. The kitchen features all new stainless steel appliances and common kitchen essentials. The living room includes a comfy sectional recliner and lounge to enjoy streaming services on the smart tv (Cable service not available). Adjacent to the kitchen is a dining room with a 4 chair/one bench table that seats up to six (Please view photo of dining area and note deer mounts).Upstairs is the master bedroom which has a king size bed and closet. The second smaller bedroom features a queen size bed, dresser and closet. There is also a small open room adjacent to the guest room that includes a small dresser for additional storage. A queen size air mattress for additional sleeping arrangements is also available with linens . There is a spacious bathroom upstairs that features a stand up double shower with detachable shower head/multiple pressure settings and a washer & dryer. Extra linens available for guests to use and additional toiletries including a hair dryer and iron allowing our guests to travel without worry. The apartment includes one parking space in the back of the house. On street parking available from May-November for additional vehicles. There is a slight incline from the road up the driveway to the main door if parking on the street. The front door is accessible for guests parking on the road by climbing less than 6 steps.

The space
This is a private home. We live in the house on the first floor, and use 2 little bedrooms on the 2nd floor back wing just for occasional guests. Your set of bedrooms on the second floor has a separate entrance and is completely separate from the rest of our living space.

Guests have access to the front porch, first floor hallway, second floor hallway and three bedrooms each with a full bath. There is a room with laundry on one side and a kitchenette on the other side. There is no access to the yard or the barn in the back.

Other things to note
We have a lab-like dog, Penny, who is the friendliest. She is trained not to come to your entrance or your area of the wrap-around porch, but you'll see her in the yard. If you do want to say hi, she does not jump and is very sweet. If you hear her bark, it is brief.

Walk up the wide stairs into your own personal high end oasis. Quarter & Rift sawn white oak floors span The Penthouse with beautiful and comfortable furniture from Design within Reach and Rove Concepts. The Chef's kitchen features custom walnut cabinetry, Waterworks hardware, Bertazonni stove and dishwasher, Fisher & Paykel fridge and dishes and flatware from Williams Sonoma.

Two Large Screen LG OLED Smart TV's, one in the great room and one in the primary suite are available. High speed Wifi will keep you connected, but if you want to unplug we have Chess, Checkers, Backgammon and other board games to enjoy.

The primary suite features a king bed, walk in closet and ensuite bath with radiant floors and zero entry shower. In addition to the primary suite, The Penthouse boasts a guest bedroom with king bed and large closet. Off the great room is a second guest bedroom with two double beds allowing for accommodation of up to 6 guests. A washer and dryer is available for guest use.

Stay cool in the summer with central AC, and warm and toasty in the colder months with the new heating system.

Located above a downtown Lenox restaurant open 7 days a week, this unit has sound proofing so our guests can enjoy privacy. We do not guarantee that you won't hear noise during business hours.

You may not want to leave The Penthouse, but should you venture out.... explore the many shops, studios, and restaurants in the quaint village of Lenox, MA right outside your front door. Enjoy a concert at Tanglewood, treat yourself to a spa day at Miraval, then take in a performance at Shakespeare and Company or tour Edith Warton's The Mount all under 5 minutes away.

*The Penthouse is located above Bistro Zinc. Please note that the kitchen is located directly below the primary bedroom. While the home is sound-insulated, noise will still travel between floors. For our light sleepers, we've provided sound machines to help facilitate a restful night. Bistro hours are 7 days per week, 11:30am - 3pm and 5pm-9pm.
