This cozy 1890's farm house was renovated into multiple apartments. It’s been a home in our families history since 1969 and has gone through many changes over the last 50+ years. We’re so excited to open it to you and share our hometown and peace and quiet that is Quarryville with you.

The unit for rent is a two bedroom, one bath on the first floor, featuring a walk-in tile shower. A full kitchen with all stainless appliances and dishwasher, a Keurig single cup & 12 cup coffee pot plus toaster oven available for your use. Large cutting board island is perfect for preparing all your meals in a functional manner. We provide all of our guests with coffee and tea choices, sugar & sugar substitutes as well as half & half upon arrival. Should you require anything specific due to dietary concerns please contact us! The living/dining room has large south facing windows and let in plenty of sunlight throughout the day. With two recliners and a loveseat there is ample seating for guests, as well as additional chairs if needed. We provide wifi and full cable as well having an Amazon Firestick connected for any streaming services you may choose to use during your stay. We hope you feel as at home here as we have all these years.

It is less than one block from the center of town, and walkable to various bars, restaurants, galleries, etc. It has all of the necessities for a comfortable stay in this Hudson Valley town.

Please Note: This is a mid-1800s home with authentic character—including weathered exterior paint and a few quirks that come with its age. It’s not for those seeking pristine new construction, but ideal if you appreciate personality, history, and a touch of imperfect charm.

Additional note: unit is not recommended for people who have difficulty with stairs because there is a steep twisting stairway.

- "My daughter and I needed a place to stay while she was competing at HITS (local horse show). The location of this house is great; only 5 minutes from the show and a very short walk to the main strip in town. Finding the house at night was not easy because it was dark and I couldn't see the house number. And then I accidentally parked in the wrong spot (neighbor's spot) but he happened to be awake and told me where to park. That was really the only part of our stay that could have gone more smoothly, but other than that, everything in the listing is accurate, and Steven, the owner, was great to deal with. The beds were super comfortable, too!"

I was concerned because this is a large VRBO attached beneath a large house and I was worried about privacy - no need to worry! You have total privacy and the owner provides total privacy. She did a great job of being the perfect combination of friendly, answering any questions immediately, etc. and at the same time giving you total privacy. She was excellent. FYI this location has the BEST washer and dryer I have ever used. We saw deer and foxes, birds, etc. Sat outside on the private deck, and that was wonderful. The terrific news was that when we hit 3 days of unexpected, unusually HOT weather - this VRBO has excellent air conditioning! We stayed 4 weeks and it was great. Great Wifi Only disadvantage: Weak mobile cell service but we found that we could solve that by talking at the end of the coffee table or going outside! We highly recommend this place. We went to the Farmers' Market every Saturday (which is ridiculously wonderful!), to the local Summer Stock at Woodstock Theatre (which was as good as we saw on Broadway at 20% the cost!); saw waterfalls, and generally enjoyed the wonderful area!"

Lazy Swan Golf and Country Club - Known as "Hamptons in the Hudson Valley"

Opus 40 - This is one of the most amazing earthwork sculptures in the world. It is an international destination right in our own backyard.

Puttin Plus - This kid fun center includes minigolf, go-karts, batting cages, arcade, laser tag, and more fun, just .5 miles from the house.

Kiwanis Ice Arena - figure skating, public skate, and hockey, just .5 miles from the house (August through June).

Saugerties Light House – just 1 mile away, take the short scenic trail to the Saugerties lighthouse. Bring a picnic lunch or a book to read, and relax on the large deck overlooking the Hudson River.

Cantine Memorial Complex - Softball fields, basketball courts, three playgrounds, soccer fields, and more. A great location for family fun.

Diamond Mills - This restaurant overlooks beautiful waterfalls and is a popular wedding venue.

Saugerties Steamboat Company - This is a brand new restaurant and venue right on the water.

Falling Waters Preserve - A beautiful easy to moderate hiking trail along the Hudson River with waterfall views.

New York Zipline Canopy Tours – come enjoy the biggest, fastest, longest ziplines in North America. There is also a smaller section for those who do not want to zipline from one mountaintop to another.

Bailiwick Animal Park, Horseback Riding, and Paintball - This is a small zoo where the kids can buy feed or carrots to give to most of the animals. The zoo has some of the bigger, more exotic animals as well - tigers, bears, gorillas, etc. After going to the zoo, there is horseback riding for older kids and pony rides for the little ones.

The village of Woodstock is just 15 minutes away. Enjoy the eclectic shops, restaurants, and architecture. If you are in the area, this is a must see.

Catskill Animal Sanctuary – Visit a place where every animal has a name and a story. This is a place where animals are treated humanely, and you can be a part of their care.

Zoom Flume Water Park - This is a great waterpark for all ages, just 30 minutes from the house. Three kids play areas, a wave pool, and 10 types of slides, this is a must stop location in the summer. There is fun music playing which makes it a great atmosphere throughout the day. There is also a zipline across the park.

The apartment is in a 100+ year old house. There is a small living room and kitchen downstairs with two small bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Note: the house is slanted and old but always clean and comfortable.

Guests can access the entire space via coded entry. There is a parking spot directly in front of the house and one other along the fence on the side of the house. The village has free parking across the street that is usually available.

Other things to note
Saugerties is a quintessential Hudson Valley town. A great place to go and get away from the city for a day, weekend, week or month.

No car, no worries - The Rhinecliff train station is a 25 minute drive and the village is less than a 5 minute walk away.

Apartment attached to larger 1800s Saugerties village home, own separate entrance. It is less than one block from the center of town, and walkable to various bars, restaurants, galleries, etc.

This is a mid-1800s home with authentic character—including weathered exterior paint and a few quirks that come with its age. It’s not for those seeking pristine new construction, but ideal if you appreciate personality, history, and a touch of imperfect charm.

Additional Note: this unit is not recommended for people who have difficulty with stairs because there is a steep twisting stairway. Also, we are very pet friendly so if you’re allergic or don’t like animals then not the place for you.

Saugerties is near the mountains and heavy snowfall is possible. Please prepare with proper gear, and note that snow removal may not coincide with your stay.

Since we are in a rural mountain environment, please be prepared for many indoor and outdoor critters and insects. We do our best to rid the unit of spiders and other bugs don’t be too surprised if the very determined bugs in Saugerties make it into the unit.

We do remove them on each cleaning but drain flies are common and little fruit flies near windows. Again we remove these and regularly exterminate but they are a reality of life in the area.

Any interaction with these insects that are native to the area does not qualify for any refund or compensation.

1. Very pet friendly, many guests bring dogs, and a cat formerly lived in the unit. Therefore, this place is not ideal for people with allergies or sensitive to prior pet guests.
2. There are two units in the house but there is not a connection between our 2 units other than between two external doors.
3. Longer term stays are possible, but access to the unit for mid term cleaning is required for stays over 1.5 weeks.

Dining room comfortable seats 6 people complete with drink station and glassware. The living room is so cosy offering 55" TV and sofa does pull out to a queen sleeper sofa.

This 2nd floor apartment has a simple entry way through the front door (with passcode) and up the stairs. Around the corner from the apt. door you will find a shoe closet with hooks and complimentary house slippers.

The bathroom has a cast-iron clawfoot tub with fixed and hand-held shower heads. A small step stool is there to help to get in/out of the tub. (Please be careful!) A farmhouse chair sits tub-side for drying/changing/shaving. On the long floating shelf there is plenty of space for personal toiletries, and a complimentary set incase you forgot something (toothbrushes, paste, floss, ear swabs, razors).

The 2 bedrooms (one queen and one full) are complete with a dresser, closet, ceiling fans and window AC units, beside lamps, clocks/noise machines, and battery lanterns (incase of a power outage). There are AC/USB plugs bedside as well. The queen bedroom has a full-length mirror and ironing board.

The full kitchen a farmhouse sink, fridge, microwave, stove and coffee station. There is a small breakfast counter as well with 2 stools.

The central dining room has a round farmhouse table with 4 comfy chairs and some decorative elements.

The living room has a love seat couch and 2 chair sitting area with 2 coffee tables, along with a daybed/reading nook. For entertainment, there is a Roku TV with Apple Airplay capability (Hart House TV) and some board games. This room also has a window AC unit.

Only the people listed on the reservation are allowed access. This is my house as well so please be respectful of the space and avoid going around back where our entryway is located. That being said, there is a front yard and porch which you are welcome to use. The porch has a hammock which is quite cozy.

While there is no parking on our property, metered parking is available right in front of the door for unloading/loading in 2hr increments and free street parking (March-November) and two free municipal lots (all year and overnight) are very close. I'll send a map after booking.
