Up the stairs you will find three bedrooms, one with a king bed, one with a queen bed, and one with a double (full) bed. There is a full bath with walk-in shower and full-sized laundry equipment. The kitchen is large and fully equipped for any cooking needs you may have. It has a large gas range, dishwasher, large fridge and a separate ice maker, as well as microwave, coffee maker and toaster. Go one way from the kitchen and you'll find our spacious breakfast nook with window surround that seats eight. Go the other direction and find the living room with extra large state of the art TV - Netflix and Prime all provided along with cords for your gaming machines. Our internet is fiber optic and lightning fast. Whole house generator, so you won't be affected if the local power fails! Parking for at least 4 vehicles. We pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our home. Allergy sufferers will appreciate the bare wood floors , along with regular steam cleaning of upholstery. Our cleaning team uses only non-toxic and natural cleansers and our linens are free from softeners or fragrances. Air ducts, windows and exterior are cleaned twice per year, and we are happy to come by to correct any variance from a sparkling clean and comfortable home for your stay! This apartment is located in a renovated barn on a large private estate, centrally located in the heart of the Berkshires, on fifty acres of beautifully landscaped farming land. The property has a large pond, woodland trails, and abuts onto Beartown Forest with large boating lake and picnic areas. It is located less than five miles from Stockbridge and Great Barrington town centers, and ten miles drive from Lenox and Tanglewood.

Historic home Nestled on a quiet street in downdown Great Barrington, just steps from the River Walk path, this enchanting apartment features 2 bright and airy queen bedrooms, perfect for a small group of guests.

This is a Duplex house - you will have one entire side which has a queen bedroom on the first floor and a Queen bedroom and bathroom on the second floor. The stairs to the second floor have a handrail but they are steep. The apartment features amenities like Roku TV, WiFi, Back Yard Gas Grill, washer/dryer in Basement, fully equipped eat-in kitchen.

The apartment has beautiful artwork throughout and nice touches like plants and locally made pottery. The newly renovated bathroom offers modern glass door, step-in shower.

The font enclosed porch is perfect for storing ski or outdoor gear

Your stay will be comfortable and convenient as you can easily walk to the downtown cafes, food coop, great restaurants and the theater. We are a 10 minute drive to Butternut ski areas and close to hiking trails and performing arts center - Tanglewood and Jacobs Pillow.

- "Where to stay in the Berkshires? Well, if you don't mind not being in the center of Lenox or Stockbridge, this is the perfect hideaway. Located above a very popular restaurant, the apartment had a lovely mixture of old and new - the building is old - the inside is new. My friend and I wanted to spend a weekend in the Berkshires, and even though we shared a room as freshmen in college, we are now at the age where our own bedrooms and our own bathrooms are a must! This apartment gave us plenty of space. We appreciated the welcome cookies (debated whether to ask for more) and liked the other welcoming touches. A couple of notes: there is some noise from the restaurant (not loud and not late), As mentioned in the description, there are stairs, and there is no outdoor area. AC is great. Plan to go the restaurant at least once. I hope to come back soon! And if I bring my husband, and let's say we have a disagreement over ....well anything....we'll at least have our own bedroom and bathroom to cool down in."

Five minutes from downtown Great Barrington, this apartment sits on 6 acres of open fields with a pond, running stream, and the Housatonic River all surrounded by mountains. It is only two hours from Boston, one hour from Albany and two and a half hours from New York City. Loft-at-Sea is a 800 Sq. Ft open floor plan studio apartment with plenty of light from three skylights and a picture window overlooking a farm to the South, mountains to the East and a wooded area to the North. The quiet, four-acre property has gardens, an orchard and pathways down to a beaver pond. Two Mini-split heating/cooling units maintain comfortable temperatures year-round. There is a private entrance, utility room with washer-dryer, coat rack and some storage. There is a parking area with EV Charger, a small picnic area in the back yard. The location affords easy access to biking, hiking, swimming, Great Barrington, Stockbridge and numerous cultural attractions.

- "This place is nicely appointed, but it wasn't quite as accommodating for our party as we'd thought it would be. I was traveling with my 2 teen-aged daughters and my teenaged nephew. I thought the common area could be a reasonable sleeping area for my nephew, but it really wasn't. Luckily, my sister had rented a gigantic place that had plenty of space for the overflow kids and it was just down the street. I would say that this apartment is best for 2 people, or 2 couples. Not great for families traveling with older kids who are too big to share a bed. Also, I'd recommend a sleeping mask (or that the owners invest in light-filtering window treatments) as the sun pours in at about 5:30 in the morning -- at least in late June. This is picky, but I'd have preferred a real coffee maker over the Keurig. Luckily, the deli next door has pretty good coffee. Overall, it was a perfectly lovely apartment."

Welcome to the Berkshires!!! A very large duplex apartment with own entrance and a porch to relax in. This is all within walking distance to town. This roomy space features a country décor with a cozy, homey feeling that has a bathtub upstairs and a shower stall downstairs. Easy access to all favorite places like Tanglewood, Norman Rockwell Museum and Bash Bish Falls to name a few. There are some nice restaurants, many antique stores and hiking, like up Monument Mountain.
The space
You will have the entire apartment to yourself. The front door leads into your own cozy porch. There is no interaction with back apartment tenants, who are quiet. There is ample parking space.

Other things to note
The bedroom situation is such that you have to walk past first opened bedroom to get to the other bedroom and bathroom. The second bedroom has a door.
The upstairs bathroom has a tub, which there is also a wand for rinsing off. It is not very tall inside tub, so it would be hard to take a shower in it if you are over 5’3”. There is a shower stall in the first floor bathroom though.

If you're looking for quiet & character, then you've found it. My flat is the upstairs one in a duplex: cozy, open, lots of light with a shared bathroom. I'm a 5 minute walk to downtown GB, a 25 minute drive to tons of cultural & outdoor activities, or you could just chill on my balcony as the river drifts by. I don't do the breakfast part of Airbnb nor coffee but there are a handful of great coffee shops within 5 minutes of my flat that open at 8.

It is not a sleek, pristine place - there are cracks, odd floors, NO locks on the bedroom nor bathroom doors and because I live in a super safe area, I rarely lock the front door. My apartment is VERY lived in by me. If you want an über clean, streamlined place, try Holiday Inn, you won't find it here : ) What you will find is a cross between an art gallery, thrift store, kids room and yoga studio that has a few old paint drips on the floor, and some marks on the walls and creaking floorboards. I collect things - like suitcases, pins, art, quilts and tiny items and my space reflects that. I make things - dances, muffins, hats, sweaters, cards and my flat reflects that as well. People tell me my place has a great vibe, is colorful and easy to be in. There are STEEP stairs to get to my flat and then another set of steep stairs to get you up to your bedroom. They are doable, but steep : )

The room is light and airy with morning sun and the shade of the large front porch in the afternoon. This is a place to enjoy a meal or just lounge and relax with a view of the gardens and surrounding woods. This space features a private entrance, a kitchenette and full bathroom and very comfortable queen bed.
In mid July 2024 we added air conditioning.

The space
Our newly created studio bedroom ensuite (with it's own private entrance) is situated in a peaceful cul-du-sac, on 'the hill', overlooking the town of Great Barrrington. The room is artfully appointed with a comfy French Country queen sized bed. There is a simple kitchenette suitable for continental breakfasts, snacks like wine and cheese, or heating leftovers from one of our excellent local restaurants. Our new bathroom features an oversized walk-in shower stall.
The table and chairs sit beside a large picture window where 'early risers' can enjoy a lovely Berkshire sunrise. This also doubles as a useful work surface for e-mailing, writing, etc.
The large victorian porch is actually a garden room with views of colorful perennial beds, woods, and in three seasons a glimpse of the mountain range beyond - the perfect place to read, to talk, or just to relax and enjoy.
This large home was designed and built by a well known Berkshire fine arts painter and has been his home and studio space for over 30 years.

Other things to note
From the house one can take a 20 minute stroll down into town where galleries, speciality shops, restaurants and cafes abound. In summer and fall don't miss our fabulous Saturday morning Farmer's Market, complete with live music and food stalls frequented by us 'locals'.
At night one might enjoy live jazz with dinner at Castle Street Cafe; performances in the beautifully renovated Mahaiwe Theater; gourmet pizza at Baba Louie's; ice cream at So-Co Creamery; or a first run movie at our Triplex Cinema. All of these (and more) are again within walking distance of the house.
The 'Cultural Berkshires' as she is called, lives up to her name with famous venues like: Tanglewood (summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra); Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival; Shakespeare & Company; Berkshire Theater Festival; the Norman Rockwell Museum; and Kripalu to name but a few. All of these are an easy drive from the house.
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy numerous hikes, walks, parks, lakes, and house and garden tours. Visit the Berkshire Botanical Garden especially during it's Fall festival. Hike Monument Mountain with it grand views of the Berkshires and Catskills made most famous by Berkshire writers Melville and Hawthorne. In winter enjoy downhill and cross country skiing and snow shoeing.
Lake Mansfield is just 4 blocks away with its town beach as well as a boat launch for your kayaks and canoes.

The 600 Sq. Ft Studio with skylights has a sitting area with sofa-bed, flat screen TV/DVD, sleep area with queen-size bed, dining area, fully equipped kitchen and full bath with shower. Views overlook a 30 acre farm (south) and mountains (east). The studio is in a separate building with a private entrance. The 4 acre property includes perennial and vegetable gardens, an orchard and walking paths. The studio is easily accessible to biking, hiking, swimming, and numerous cultural attractions.

The space
The studio is in a lovely town with a historic center and no commercial establishments. Tangelwood, Kripalu, Berkshire Theater Festival and Jacob's Pillow are a short drive. The space
Our Airbnb is an apartment attached to our home with a separate entrance accessible through the backyard. The studio features a kitchen area with a fridge and oven, a dining table, and a convenient pullout couch (perfect for the kids). Enjoy a restful night's sleep on the comfortable queen bed.
Please note that we live next to train tracks. The train goes by approximately once per day, though there is no set time.

You'll have access to the backyard and the studio apartment. There are 3 stairs leading up to a deck required to access the unit.

A private, centrally located 1-bedroom apartment suite in 1888 owner-occupied Carriage House, set up on a hill off the road in the beautiful Berkshire Hills. 4 min. to downtown Gt. Barrington. Although the apartment is in the same building, it has a totally separate access via a long deck with privacy, mostly surrounded by trees. In the summertime, the apartment remains cool from all the shade, but there is an air conditioner in the bedroom.

Shed your tensions, rest, enjoy this beautiful area & rejuvenate! Light and comfortable, the private apartment consists of a comfortably furnished living/dining area, electric fireplace, desk, dining table/chairs, TV, DVD player, and WiFi. There is a small but well-equipped kitchenette, including pots and pans, dishes, mini fridge, stove and sink, silverware; a bedroom with comfortable queen mattress, a/c, closet, linens, and bath including towels, soaps, paper products, hairdryer & a second closet, with ironing board and iron. A private French door entrance from the living room onto the deck has a table and chairs for outdoor eating or for relaxing summer times.

Efforts to maintain environmentally clean space preclude use of strong perfumes and scented items or smoking. Suitable for 1 or 2 people. Rates change seasonally. Ask. 24 hr. between reservations.

The owner resides in the remainder of the building, which is surrounded by trees, giving the effect of a tree house and utmost privacy.

The Carriage House is also totally accessible to all Berkshire activities and especially those in Great Barrington with many top-notch restaurants, Mahaiwe Theatre performances, the Triplex movie house, Colonial Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre, Arlo Guthrie Music Center, performances at the gazebo, Yiddish Theatre, Norman Rockwell Museum, summer art and street fairs, as well as summer theatres, fall Harvest Festival, winter Norman Rockwell Christmas, skiing at Catamount (8 mi.) or Butternut (2 mi.) or Bosquet (24 mi.). Hiking trails and canoeing down the Housatonic. Visit historic homes and Berkshire Cottages - fall homes of the Newport Mansion society. Many shops, grocery and organic food stores and restaurants. Outdoor dining on the street with buskers on weekends. It's 4-5 minutes to center of town by car or a pleasant 15+ minute walk. Rejuvenate next door at Body and Soul for a selection of massages or facials. It is 10 minutes to Stockbridge; 18 minutes to Lenox to practice yoga at Kripalu or take a workshop. 25 minutes to Salisbury, Ct. Further south a bit to Lime Rock Park auto racing.

Masks required most places, and some require proof of vaccinations. Look up on individual websites, such as the Colonial Theatre, Mahaiwe, etc. and some restaurants as well.

There is a long deck outside the apartment (2 steps up)which guests can use, with table and chairs for outside eating in warmer months. Winter months skiis can be left here. Parking. Good tires advised for winter on uphill driveway. Please check pricing which changes seasonally. Ask for weekly or monthly rates. They change seasonally.

We are centrally located to the S. Berkshires attractions. 3 miles from Great Barrington , 8 miles to the Norman Rockwell Museum and 12 miles from Tanglewood. There is a private west facing sun porch and a patio.

Other things to note
If you are very tall this might not be the place for you. This is an old house and the ceiling height in the upstairs bedroom is about 7 ft.

2. We have the option of leaving freshly laundered set of linens in the dryer. That way guests can be confident that items that have prolonged contact with the face have not been handled by anybody after being put in the dryer.

3.We have a washer and dryer in the unit. The washer is only for the use of guests staying longer than 3 nights or emergency needs of guests with small children. We encourage guests to use the dryer for clothes worn while hiking/outdoors to get rid of ticks that might have hitched a ride home.

4. House has a septic system. To protect it please only use the supplied single ply toilet paper. Only toilet paper should be put in the toilet even if it labeled "septic system safe".

5. Coffee grounds should be put on the flower beds or in the trash but not poured down the drain.

This is a lovely private apartment, attached to our house with its own separate entrance. It's newly built, with an excellent use of space and offers a beautiful retreat just minutes walk from downtown Great Barrington. We welcome families!

The space
Beautiful, studio Apartment, 5 minutes walking distance from downtown, on the hill in Great Barrington. This apartment is a recently built addition to a lovely house situated on a private, wooded property with separate entrance, and a grassy, shaded backyard. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, dining space, living area, and bedroom. It gets great light due to huge floor to ceiling windows and a large skylight. 12 minute walk to Lake Mansfield beach. Apartment sleeps 4 and is a perfect get away for a couple or family who wants to enjoy Great Barrington and the surounding attractions. 15 mins from Tanglewood, 15 minutes to Stockbridge. Volleyball and badminton net set up in the back yard.

Owned by a French/American family. We welcome all, especially families! We know that kids are often turned down from typical Bed and Breakfasts and we know how hard it is to stay in a hotel without a kitchen. And we are super easy going about child related noise (or any noise for that matter). This apartment is great for families looking for a home away from home.

Other things to note
We have two young children, have been doing Air bnb for 5 years now and never had an issue. Our little ones are learning about being good hosts. But please recognize that our kids are here and are not totally silent. You will enjoy seeing their smiling faces as you walk by our side of the house on the way to your private apartment and you may hear them at times during your stay.

And or those traveling with little ones, we provide things to play with, a pack and play (please ask ahead of time), higher chair, and lots of outdoor space that's great in any season for romping and roaming.

The apartment is one part of a large Victorian house that is divided vertically, with different staircases on each side. The rental side is completely separate with its own entrance. The main bedroom has a window air conditioner.

Great Barrington is a small New England town (population 7, 000) and the center of the southern Berkshires, as well as the market town for the tri-state area which includes northwestern Connecticut and Columbia County, New York. It is the location of "Alice's Restaurant," where folk singer Arlo Guthrie, the son of Woody Guthrie, turned his Thanksgiving Day arrest for littering into one of the best-known songs and movies of the Vietnam War era.

This tranquil spot, surrounded by tall maple, pine and ash trees, is a cool green retreat from the crowds at Tanglewood. Because the house in on the Hill, breezes keep it cool even during hot summer weather. Here's what you'll enjoy in your "cottage" in the Berkshires:

The floor-to-ceiling bookshelves hold a wide range of books: history, science, biography, politics, detective novels, science fiction, and fantasy. While they need to stay here when you leave, there is also a Little Library on the front porch, used by the neighborhood, with books you're welcome to take. There are also books in the study (mostly favorite classics in vintage paperback) labeled as books-to-take-home.

Downstairs is a large living room with fireplace, dining room, and connected kitchen and laundry. The main bedroom has a queen bed and a window air conditioner. The second bedroom has a single bed and a spacious desk. The suite is extremely quiet. Access is via an old-fashioned staircase, which is a little steep (like an English country cottage). If you have trouble with stairs this is not a good pick for your visit to the Berkshires.

Eco or Green Airbnb
• The house was built in 1868 and the original construction is extraordinarily well engineered. The lumber and glass in the windows is irreplaceable, so we're gradually making upgrades and repairs but preserving everything possible. (Your staying with us helps to make this restoration, and other improvements, possible.) Sheets and towels are washed in fragrance-free detergent and air-dried when possible. We use nontoxic, biodegradable cleaning products (we're fans, for example, of Sal Suds).
• The house has many ceiling and table fans, as well as an attic fan that we turn on at night when it's been hot. The Berkshires typically has cool nights - you may even need a blanket or shawl at Tanglewood for an August concert! We do have limited a/c for very hot days, and plan to install heat pumps (for heat and cooling) over the next couple years.
• We try to avoid waste in general and, as you'll see, love and cherish old things. We don't discard good-quality items over a tiny stain or chip, so you may see an occasional small patch or repair.
• We compost everything possible for the garden, taking care not to attract bears or other pests. If you have food waste, just check the notes to find out where to discard it.
• The extensive garden is never treated with chemical fertilizers or pesticides. There are lots of birds (including bluebirds) as well as the noisy and charming green frogs in our tiny pond.

The floor-to-ceiling bookshelves hold a wide range of books: history, science, biography, politics, detective novels, science fiction, and fantasy. While they need to stay here when you leave, there is also a Little Library on the front porch, used by the neighborhood, with books you're welcome to take. There are also books in the study (mostly favorite classics in vintage paperback) labeled as books-to-take-home.

Downstairs is a large living room with fireplace, dining room, and connected kitchen and laundry. The main bedroom has a queen bed and a window air conditioner. The second bedroom has a single bed and a spacious desk. The suite is extremely quiet. Access is via an old-fashioned staircase, which is a little steep (like an English country cottage). If you have trouble with stairs this is not a good pick for your visit to the Berkshires.

For more about a treasure right here in the neighborhood, the newly opened Lake Mansfield Recreation Area, which you can access on foot or bike from this side of the lake (cars have to go around through town), you can check online at GBLand for the aerial photo and details. • The house was built in 1868 and the original construction is extraordinarily well engineered. The lumber and glass in the windows is irreplaceable, so we're gradually making upgrades and repairs but preserving everything possible. (Your staying with us helps to make this restoration, and other improvements, possible.)Sheets and towels are washed in fragrance-free detergent and air-dried when possible. We use nontoxic, biodegradable cleaning products (we're fans, for example, of Sal Suds).
• The house has many ceiling and table fans, as well as an attic fan that we turn on at night when it's been hot. The Berkshires typically has cool nights - you may even need a blanket or shawl at Tanglewood for an August concert! We do have limited a/c for very hot days, and plan to install heat pumps (for heat and cooling) over the next couple years.
• We try to avoid waste in general and, as you'll see, love and cherish old things. We don't discard good-quality items over a tiny stain or chip, so you may see an occasional small patch or repair.
• We compost everything possible for the garden, taking care not to attract bears or other pests. If you have food waste, just check the notes to find out where to discard it.
• The extensive garden is never treated with chemical fertilizers or pesticides. There are lots of birds (including bluebirds) as well as the noisy and charming green frogs in our tiny pond.

Our Cottage is relaxing and if you want, you can sleep late, as its very quiet! It has a country, rustic feeling, yet it offers modern functionality. It is centrally located in the Berkshires, offering a gateway to many adventures in the nearby towns. In these special days we do our best to keep everyone healthy. All guest reservations are spaced 1 -3 days apart to allow airing and cleaning. We take special care of cleaning and sanitizing the Cottage with Clorox and other antibacterial products.

The space
Berkshire Mountain Cottage is a warm and cozy hideaway located in the Berkshire hills. Its located between North Egremont and West Stockbridge, placing it within 15 minutes of Tanglewood and 5 minutes from Main Street in Great Barrington, by car, and close to many other Berkshire locales. The cottage is also very close to hiking and biking trails and numerous swimming areas on both lakes and rivers.

The cottage features (2) bedrooms, living room, kitchenette, screened in porch and (1) bathroom. The master bedroom contains a Queen sized bed and plenty of closet space. The second bedroom has a trundle bed with a riser and it sleeps (2). The building is semi attached to the main house. It has a separate entrance. And private outdoor area It is a roomy 800 sq ft, recently renovated, and beautifully decorated. You can easily prepare a great breakfast, lunch and even dinner (BBQ) or choose to sample one of the many restaurants in Great Barrington.

The cottage property contains grassy areas, flower gardens, forest, a stream, and a beaver pond which attracts exotic birds. There are tables and chairs set up outdoors for your enjoyment. We welcome well behaved dogs of all sizes.

Enjoy walking our woodland trails, rest a while by the brook and, when the sky is clear, the stars are brilliant. A piece of heaven. For the always on set, as of 6/9/2018, we have a fiber network with more than 20 Mbps.

The space
Created by a designer of interiors and gardens Angel's Rest offers a wonderful setting for rest, reflection, and enjoying nature. Our brook is a perennial stream feeding the Green River and the woodland trails and occasional benches encourage lingering. We are about 35 minutes from Tanglewood and Kripalu and 50 minutes from Jacobs Pillow.

In addition to the grounds, the stone terrace at the entrance to the cottage has convenient outdoor seating and an outdoor fire kettle with a usage fee of $25 for fuel and cookout utensils. The apartment comes with an electric fireplace, that is cozy any time, but especially nice during ski season. The outdoor log cabin sauna is available from 3-6 PM and must be booked 24 hours in advance. The fee is $75. Cancellations received by 11AM on the day of the booking are completely refundable.

The cottage has its own entrance and check-in time is 3 PM. Checkout is 11 AM. We have a mostly indoor cat, Little Bit who you may not see--she is shy. Little Bit is not allowed in the apartment.
