We came into town for my grandmothers funeral, we were a little confused as check in is contactless, but we met Rosa and communicated via text and it was easy sailing after that. They did inform me of contactless check in, it just slipped my mind with all going on. The property was great, loved spending one morning with the cows and later with the two pups on site. Really loved that the animals were rescues. Our room was small, but cozy, plenty of other rooms to relax in or play cards. But the heart of this Inn lies with Rhonda, who took very good care of us during our stay. She was so empathetic and warm and welcoming and helped ease the burden of what could have been a very stressful trip back. It was a healing expierence, and ill never forget that, and I thank her and everyone else there. I hope to visit and stay again sometime."

The amenities are bare-bones but our priorities are on cleanliness, comfort, safety, and exceptional hotel staff of which this Holiday Inn Express in Great Barrington delivered. Note: this particular hotel chain is very popular with families and during the breakfast “crush” the dining area can get quite crowded. Having said that, we were amazed by the dining staff who always has replenished coffee and we’re attending to the multiple requests of other guests."

I neglected to read the reviews of this property before I had booked and I am glad because if I had, I might not have reserved here. Nonetheless, The suite was very large with one king size bed in the bedroom and two full size convertible sofas in the living room. A flat screen TV in each room, Large clean bathroom and kitchenette with coffe maker and microwave oven completed the apartment. Guests have access to all spaces within this home including one garage stall for ski storage.

This home is a guest house which is part of a large property, but is completely private and almost a football field away from the main house. This is not a shared place.

The guest cottage has been recently updated with new furniture, decor and upgrades!

Both bedrooms are located on the ground level. The first featuring a king bed and desk for those who need to work from home. The second bedroom; has a twin daybed. This bedroom has access to the half bath and the exterior door to the back yard. There is a garage bay with plenty of room for storing skis and gear.

On the second floor you will find a large sectional which pulls out to a queen bed. The living room features a Smart TV and spacious window seat. The dining area seats four guests and can also double as an additional work space. The full kitchen contains Microwave, toaster, coffee maker, small fridge, oven and cook top. A portable dishwasher is available and a full sized fridge is located in the garage.

The full bathroom/laundry room is also on the second level and features a walk in shower.

All the rooms have air conditioning and heat.

The fully fenced in backyard provides plenty of privacy to relax in the hammock or around the fire pit. Enjoy a meal outside with the outdoor dining area and gas grill.

Long Pond is a reservoir in Great Barrington. It is a beautiful serene spot surrounded by nature. This is not a swimming/boating pond, but there is plenty of hiking all around the area. Pfeiffer Arboretum is just down the road which is a Land Conservancy on Long Pond featuring a " .7 mile walking loop through diverse forest and wetland ecosystems".

Although you will feel far from it all, downtown Great Barrington is just a quick 7 minute drive for shopping and restaurants! Butternut Ski Area is located only 14 minutes away and Catamount Ski Mountain is 19 minutes from the property. Both Tanglewood and downtown Lenox are only a 20 minute drive.

Having a car will greatly enhance your ability to explore the Berkshires effectively.

You will have the entire apartment to yourself. The front door leads into your own cozy porch. There is no interaction with back apartment tenants, who are quiet. There is ample parking space.

Other things to note
The bedroom situation is such that you have to walk past first opened bedroom to get to the other bedroom and bathroom. The second bedroom has a door.
The upstairs bathroom has a tub, which there is also a wand for rinsing off. It is not very tall inside tub, so it would be hard to take a shower in it if you are over 5’3”. There is a shower stall in the first floor bathroom though.
