"Little Twicket" is a cosy cabin off the main residence. Gorgeous gardens and bird life surround you with beautiful views of the Silvan Dam.

The setting of Little Twicket is the tranquil Dandenong Ranges. We are a short drive from the gorgeous villages of Olinda and Sassafrass, and the serene Rhododendron Gardens. There are cafes and restaurants galore nearby, many within walking distance and quirky antique and boutique shops. People come from all over Victoria to visit these celebrated Ranges, renown for their majestic trees and peaceful atmosphere. We're walking distance to the beautiful Olinda Falls, and the incredible views of Melbourne at the Sky High Lookout. You could always just relax here at Cloudland in our lovely garden, or cosy up and toast marshmallows on the fire pit.

In your cabin, you have a comfortable double bed, kitchenette, stunning views and your own ensuite with shower. Tea and coffee, including pour over freshly ground coffee and loose leaf tea and a range of specialty teas are supplied. The cabin has a TV/DVD. Most days we have the local wild peacocks come to visit, as well as cheeky cockatoos and gorgeous king parrots and rosellas. In the warmer months you can use the BBQ facilities or if it's a chilly night, you are welcome to light up the fire pit and toast a marshmallow or two. You can even meet our incredibly cute Pygmy goats. We love it here, every morning we feel so lucky to look out at our beautiful view, we hope you will enjoy it just as much as we do.

Please be aware, the kitchenette is not suitable for cooking meals. It is only suitable for preparing light foods such as toast and cereal. There are many great restaurants and cafes close by that would really appreciate your business.

Weekdays are the most peaceful in the hills. We have so much to offer up here that the villages and attractions can be popular with tourists on weekends.

We deep clean the cabin between guests to ensure your health and are both COVID vaccinated to provide extra protection during your stay. We also run an air purifier in the cabin between guests which you are welcome to use during your stay if you prefer. Your safety and wellbeing are paramount to us.

Located close to the Belgrave Sth shops, an easy drive to the Dandenongs' top attractions, and situated on 3.5 acres of native bushland and natural granite; this self-contained studio is a perfect base for couples and small families to experience all the hills have to offer. Enjoy the "toots" of Puffing Billy in the distance as you sip on a beverage while overlooking Menzies Creek, or take a walk down our private path to our little rainforest and discover the abundance of native flora and fauna.

The studio is modern, cosy and comfortable. It has a split system AC, a small foldaway table, and basic kitchen amenities (microwave, toaster, kettle and sink). There's a double-bed and sofa bed located in the main open space, which would best suit a couple or family with 1-2 young kids. Enjoy the use of free fast wifi. There are also many DVDs and a chromecast available to stream your favourite shows. The studio is located approximately 30m from the main house where we live, so you will have ample privacy but may see us pottering around the garden at times. You are welcome to explore the 3.5 acres of native bushland via the meandering private path that trails down to our little rainforest and creek.

Guests are welcome to explore our 3.5 acre property, but we request privacy around the main house and balcony. There is a gazebo, 'rockclimbing wall' for kids, and a bush path that will take you on a 20 minute walk down to the bottom of our property.

The studio only has a kitchenette so there’s no standard cooking facilities. We do have a microwave, a toaster and a bar fridge, but we recommend checking out some of the fabulous restaurants in the area. We have a guidebook with our favourite recommendations and they won’t disappoint.

We also have a newly added outdoor wood stove for those crisp winter evenings. Guests will need to provide their own kindling and wood, but we can provide paper and matches.

A note about pets:
We are animal lovers, and understand how special it can be to share a holiday with your 4-legged friend. Pets are welcome to stay, but please note that the studio is quite small and the property is not fenced. Therefore this accommodation may not be appropriate for all pets, and we request all animals be leashed when outdoors.

My quaint cottage, which is separate from my house is in the heart of Olinda and all the cafes, restaurants. I have a cosy French flair style in the room including a wood heater. My place is 5 minute walk to the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden. Cloud Hill nursery and the forest and local pool are also close to my cottage. The bus stops at the end of my road, no need for a car. I supply breakfast items for you or 1 minute from a cafe that has free wi fi. You can park in the street/carport.

We welcome you to our unique home, which we designed and built using sandstone and lined in timber. We have raised our family here, but they have now flown the nest and are creating their own. The house is set in 2.5 acres of garden, which is partly native bush. There is a small creek running through the property, crossed by two wooden bridges. We invite you to explore the quiet corners and paths, finding hidden surprises and enjoying the varied birdlife.
You will have a spacious bedroom, with 1 queen bed, comfortable seating and views of the garden. The bathroom and separate toilet will be for your exclusive use, both are a few steps down a passage from the bedroom.

In warmer months, the pool is available to share with us, as is the poolhouse with gas barbeque and seating area.

Tap water slightly rusty when unused for a few days- completely safe; let it run if you want clear water.

The back of the property has a veranda 3m wide and about 9m long, overlooking the forest. This part has been left natural to encourage wild-life. It is tranquil except for bird song, and sunsets can be quite spectacular. The local shops including IGA and 3 pubs, post-office, bus-stop, cafes etc are less than 5 mins walking distance. The unit has an independent gate and entrance leading into a hallway, lounge and open kitchen.

One bedroom has a Queen bed and there are two single beds in the second bedroom. Both bedrooms have some forest views.
**Two guests only booking must choose between the Queen bed or twin beds or $10/ night extra charges for both rooms to be made up (for 2 guests.)
The table lamp in the Queen bedroom is a touch lamp. The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated.

Tea, coffee, sugar, milk (light) provided. The landscape behind the house has different gradients of slope as Olinda is part of the Dandenong Ranges. It has been left wild for visiting wild-life; as such it is not suitable as a play area for young children.
Kitchen utensils and toiletries provided. Condiments in pantry include salt, pepper, ketchup, oil and vinegar.

The house is in the forest and we do get harmless slater/ roly-polys inside despite the insecticides.
Sometimes there are mosquitoes and the house has 2 devices indoors- an electronic repellent and RAID automatic spray which are left on. Details of these devices on the packaging are in the drawer/ cupboard below. Also an electric mosquito zapper in the veranda. Carrying a personal insect repellent is advised. Wild birdseed in the veranda to be used sparingly to decrease their dependence on this. Kookaburras love meat treats.

The Dandenong Ranges is enchanting with its breathtaking natural beauty, forests, tranquility and abundant wildlife. You will be greeted by the kookaburra's song morning and night, and see an array of parrots and lorikeets. There's a resident echidna to spot as well.

The property has a large labyrinth that I created in 2020. It is a meditative walk crowned by mountain ash, rhododendrons and native flora.

The Garden Suite is an open plan bedroom, dining and kitchenette area within the modern B&B accommodation facility - Holly Lodge. The on-suite bathroom has shower facilities. There are shared facilities available to guests including BBQ area, large outdoor deck and dining area, laundry and outdoor settings, fire pit, (not available during total fire ban days)

There is parking available on the property. The use of your own vehicle is recommended. The main tourist road is a stroll away from the cottage where you can access public transport which will take you to the quaint villages of Olinda and Sassafras. Public transport routes include Belgrave, Croydon and Lillydale. Bus services are not frequent and you will need to plan your journey. If you are adventurous and fit enough you can walk or cycle to Olinda along the footpath adjacent to the main tourist road. Olinda is 5kms from the cottage and the walk can be challenging. You can stop at the" Pig and Whistle" pub on the way to Olinda. Destiny Point offers fantastic breakfast and is a small walk from the cottage

The accommodation is in a Nature Reserve and therefor no noise after 10pm

Montrose Hideout is a quiet place to put up your feet, set on 3 acres at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges.

The Hideout is a private modern unit with outdoor 2 person bath, fireplace and BBQ in enclosed private courtyard - perfect for a quiet night or peaceful breakfast.

There is a warm wood fire in the main living area with a comfy lounge to relax during the evening.

The fully fitted out kitchen has everything you need .

The unit is located next door to the main but is totally private.

The space
Double height ceilings greet you on entry into the gorgeous stone walled guest house. Enjoy spacious open plan living on the lower level with lounge, kitchen and dining areas. Amenities include microwave/convention oven, electric cook top, toaster, tea and coffee facilities, 50 inch smartTV with Netflix, Stan and Free Wi-FI. Upstairs enjoy the amazing view from your balcony and all the luxuries of a hotel room including a King size bed, second smart TV and ensuite. Also located on the balcony is a small BBQ with a table and chairs for outdoor dining.

The guest house shares 1.5 acres of land with the main residence and backs onto a walking trail through the state forest. The backyard has a fire pit area for you to sit back and relax while soaking in the beautiful view.

Wirrawong studio has been designed as a space to unwind and relax. Its minimal ascetic has influences of Sweden and Japan. The art and furniture are tasteful and have been collected over time. The area outside is spacious and your car can be safely contained close to the studio.

Our neighbours keep to themselves and in the twenty five years that we have lived here there has never been a problem .We live in a very quiet environment.
A four minute walk takes you to the edge of the forest where you can explore
many paths leading further into it.

- **Water Source**: Our water is sourced from a natural stream, which may cause slight discoloration due to minerals. Rest assured, it has been tested and is safe to drink.

- **Residential Property**: As this is our home, certain areas are private. Please be aware that occasional maintenance work may occur during your stay.

- **Additional Accommodations**: We have a few other self-contained rooms available for rent on the property. The rooms are aligned motel style.

Our beautiful modern guesthouse is located on a 1/2 acre forest land alongside of our residents 🏡,
We are so proud of the space and tranquility that you feel, the moment you step inside the guesthouse.
You will drive into the driveway and park right there, just a step away from the entry. There is only one small 10cm steps before you get in-to the guesthouse.
You then entering to the living room with the mirror on your right side (photo no 2) , next to the comfortable couch 🛋. Kitchen is on your left, bedroom with private en-suite is right in front.
The 1.8-meter sliding door opens from your bedroom in-to the balcony beneath a beautiful 100-year-old beech tree, there you can relax & enjoy a drink or two and listen to the sound of nature, 🍃 🌲 birds.

The propert is on a sunny 1.5 acre block. You walk about 20 meters to the cottage from car parking. We are on the Tourist rd so there is some regular but far from busy traffic during day. Night time very little as we are almost at top of the mountain.
Our garden has the most amazing 130 year old trees and a quirky display of rockery plants and other. If you are looking for manicured we are not for you. If you are looking for lovely sunshine on a near level block with easy access to local eateries ( you don’t need to get back into the car) and accessible by train and bus then please consider Olinda Country Cottages.
