Experience an independent, private, sparkling clean studio close to downtown Guelph with full amenities. Located in a gorgeous tree-filled 200 ft backyard, this cozy urban cottage has a comfortable double bed with new mattress, gas fireplace, fully stocked kitchen, separate shower, 2-piece washroom, sleeping loft, and private back patio. Located in the heart of the Junction Village intentional community, guests can connect with others, or have a private retreat experience.

The space
The cottage is private and independent, and is located in the middle of our 200ft deep backyard. Surrounded by trees and gardens, it feels like staying at a cottage, yet is close to the heart of downtown Guelph.

With a private entrance, and back patio, there is plenty of space to enjoy privacy and get outside, and experience the wealth of nature in an urban setting.

Please note the back patio is private with a cedar rail fence and hidden by natural vines, yet is not completely fenced in. You are welcome to draw the curtains, and enjoy the fire place and some privacy, and also walk through the full backyard space, when needed.

Please note there are 8 stone steps down to the Studio front door. Also, the Studio has a cottage size hot water tank, which supports about a 10 minute shower, before it needs to re-heat, which takes about 60 minutes.

Walk past our house on the right, through a wood gate, along a flagstone path to the left, and down the stone steps to the studio.

Other things to note
We have a two friendly border collies, Dash & Sophie, who live in our backyard, and may greet you with the enthusiasm of a border collie looking to herd urban sheep. They are very friendly and love the attention. You are welcome to throw a ball or stick, yet beware this brings a commitment to continue playing, so we recommend not throwing anything, unless you have some time, and want to play for a while :)

In the summer, every Tuesday from 4pm-8pm from June to October, we host a CSA food pickup in our backyard that brings together community minded change makers from the neighbourhood & downtown.

Parking is available in the parking lot across the street, next to the apartment building at 46 Meadowview Ave, and also on the west side of Meadowview Ave. Please lock your vehicle at all times when parked.

Prices for short term stays (under 28 days) are subject to HST. For Canadian guests on a business trip, you can claim the HST as an Input Tax Credit
