The backyard is very large, private, quiet and fenced in. This spot is extremely well located. It is a five minute walk to the University, food shopping, restaurants and a pharmacy is just outside the Court. The Mall, downtown, hiking and skiing trails are all within a 15 to 35 minute walk. There are several great restaurants to walk to near my house. Manhattan’s is my favorite as it’s close and it has live Jazz music.

There was no mention of children, yet a baby cried and screamed for 3 of the 4 hours I was there. I left early because I had messaged the host that I needed a quiet place to decompress during a difficult memorial visit.I even recorded a video from inside the room with the door closed to show how loud and constant the crying was, but reviews only allow photo uploads, and visually, the room looked fine.The room was clean and nicely furnished, but the ad implied a private bathroom — it’s actually shared with the hosts. I’d been looking forward to using the bathtub for a relaxing soak, but the shared setup and less-than-clean condition made me uncomfortable and aside from poking my head in I didn't use the bathroom at all.The listing also claimed “blackout blinds,” but only had heavy curtains, which don’t function the way actual blackout blinds do. With insomnia this is important.It’s also not near much, especially without a car. The closest place was a 30-minute walk to a Tim Hortons — not exactly “Guelph’s best.”I explained that I understand babies cry and can’t be controlled, but had I known children were on the premises, I would’ve booked elsewhere. One note, I was unaware of an additional temporary charge (hold on credit card) in terms of a security deposit for the rental. It was only a temporary hold but I was unaware of that and the i.d. check in scan (photo) having utilized other rentals before. It is understandable and reasonable, but I was unaware. It may have been in the contract, and I overlooked it, but it was a non-issue in any event. If I did overlook it that is my fault. If I did not and it was not advised beforehand, I would recommend advising persons beforehand."

Great location for those that enjoy the outdoors. This basement unit backs onto Preservation Park that has a network of hiking trails to explore Guelph. You will have a great view of Preservation Park from your unit. This two bedroom unit has a master bedroom with a queen size bed and the other bedroom has a double bed. Close to University of Guelph and grocery store. This is a fully furnished unit that features a desk and table to do work, with connection to wifi. The bathroom was recently renovated. This is a lower unit in a duplex house. Therefore, booking this unit will only give guests access to the lower unit. The upper unit is occupied.

- "Great location, lots of space, clean. Easy access to hot" - "Great stay, modern house, very convenient to the university" - "The location is good, the house is big and nice which was good for a large group. However, there were several things that made our stay uncomfortable and lowered the rating. We stayed with a group of 4 couples in the home for 2 nights, there were only 6 towels in the whole place though we had noted the amount of guests. No washcloths. The backyard's grass was very high/overgrown and thetefore that space was not useable, the temperature was really hot in the home and when we tried to adjust, it was noted that this is controlled offsite. I messaged the host saturday morning to adjust this and turn on ghe A/C and never got a reply (not sure if it was done or not). The guest room beds are all VERY hard, so beware if this is not your preference. There is also a tennant that lives downstairs in this home, a feature that VBROs advertise does not happen (we were told when given the passcode). We were coming home from a wedding late and felt we had to be extra quiet. Parking was good, things were clean, the Tv was great, just these little things that made it hard to be comfortable overall, which added up to the less than 5-star experience."

The space
Hey there!

I’m a fun, athletic and kind 40 year old who runs my massage therapy practice out of my home on Monday- Thursday from around 11 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. (with 45 min. breaks in between appointments). I often go to my partner's place in the evenings and on weekends. I spend most Fridays climbing at the Grotto and catching up on housework and laundry in Guelph.

Looking for someone who has something consistent to do outside of the house during those my work times, like school or work.

Looking for a peaceful/light footed individual who knows the value in doing the little things to create harmony in a home and avoid annoyances…like cleaning their hair out of the shower when finished and maybe even wiping the shower down to avoid calcium buildup, doing dishes after a meal, keeping shared space free of personal items lying around when not in use, and generally leaving the shared space tidy and clean so that people don’t have to work around mess and can freely do their thing.

The house smells of essential oils from my practice. I generally clean with non-toxic cleaners like vinegar and effective, natural disinfectant. Natural laundry detergent is used. I get a headache with synthetic smells like perfumes, cologne, certain laundry detergents and incense…so I’m looking for someone who avoids such things. I sometimes use oxyclean and resolve to remove tough stains, but that is rare. I would just like to avoid ongoing synthetic smells.

Parking: There is parking for one car. When clients are here, your car will need to be parked elsewhere or up the driveway so that clients have room to park.

Nicely equipped kitchen with blender, popcorn maker, mini food processor, and coffee grinder/bodum.

Please help yourself to any food in the garden if it's growing...kale, chives, mint, currents etc.

The left side of the big fridge is yours to use....The right side is Mary's.

North facing master bedroom with comfy king bed and a small desk. There is a closet to put your clothing in.

There is no ironing board, but there is an iron. If you need to iron something, please use the washer or dryer as the flat surface.

Guest access
Access to most of the entire home and back yard except for Mary's treatment rooms. Home needs to be very quiet during Mary's working hours, so ideally, you have a job or school etc. that you need to go to during the day.

Solar powered when the sun is shining by panels on the house and porch roof.

I use a good amount of natural, essential oils in my practice and I typically avoid synthetic scents/perfumes. I use synthetic cleaning products to remove stains on the rare occasion. If you're sensitive to all scents, this probably isn't the place for you...But if you like natural scents, I've gotten a good amount of compliments from clients about how nice the house smells from the various essential oils.

This room is on the lower level of a quaint but elegant 3 bedroom detached cottage-style bungalow occupied by the owner and her partner. The verdant side garden offers a peaceful outdoor space for relaxing, eating and spending somw time outdoors in the quiet and tramquility of this established residential neighbourhood. There is one additional driveway space for parking and street parking available May-October.

Guests have fully private rooms that give onto a cozy and relaxing living space, perfect for unwinding and socializing after a long day. Full kitchenette and 3 piece bathroom may be shared other guests but often, guests find themselves in fully privacy in an appartment style space.

You will be welcomed through the front door of our home and follow the stairs to the lower level.
The door code will be operational after 3pm and provided to you before your arrival.

The lock is operated by touching the black surface above the handle to light up the numbers. Once inside, turn lock to secure. For added security the lock will automatically engage after a few minutes anyway.

On exit, light up the key pad with a tap, then press 2 fingers on the pad for 5 seconds until you hear the bolt roll out. You may have to do this twice. A small red light will appear to indicate that it's locked. You can also double check the handle.

Please find additional information on a sheet in your room. You will see the kitchenette on the left and the bottom of the stairs and the bathroom close by before entering the living space .

During your stay
I do my best to greet each guest and show them their room. When not possible I invite you to make yourself at home! The main floor area is private however if we are at home, you can call out to speak to me. My husband is spanish and not at ease interacting with guests so will alert me to respond to you and tend to your needs.

FIRE WINDOWS: The window in your room is an egress window. The 2 panes fully open up for exit or entry in case of fire by depressing the latches on the side of the panes. Please only use this feature in case of emergency.
NEARBY: There is a convenience store (4 min walk) across the park, behind the church (formerly a school) at the west end of the street). Once on the other side of the park, go right and you will find a small mall. There is also a pizza place, called Tito’s pizza.
There are some lovely trails along the river at the end of Stone Rd. When you cross the park, go left and access to the green space will be on your right.

Stone Road Mall is a 15 minute walk. Just past the Stone Rd/Hanlon intersection you will find a Shopper’s Drug Mart (7 min walk). They sell basic food items including produce. There is also an LCBO. A little further up on Stone Road, across from the mall, there is a plaza with a Farm Boy supermarket, restaurants and other shops.
