The patio is shared with hte other (two?) units in the house. Very comfortable mattress with a handquilted bedspread. Nicely equipped room. At the back of the house, we found it very quiet. Checkin is in the main house and was fast and easy, although it would have been nice to have been informed of the wifi code at checkin, or to have found it in the room. Had a fabulous meal at the restaurant and it was very nice to explore the lovely village of New Hamburg before and after. Would definitely stay here again."

The Farm Shed is a quaint, rustic, and newly renovated guest accommodation on our working, 130-acre, family farm. Once used for machinery storage, a farm mechanics workshop, housing pigs, a farm store, and a farm office, now a retreat for guests to enjoy a quiet farm stay. Please know that we live and work on the farm.

Located 10 minutes south of Elora-Fergus, 5 minutes north of Guelph, and 20 minutes east of Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, and St Jacobs. Cox Creek Winery is just up the road. Several bike/hike trails nearby. Three golf courses 5 minutes away.

On the 130-acre family farm wheat, corn, and soybeans are the crops grown. There are a few chickens that lay fresh eggs, daily. Theo, the farm kitty, roams free. He loves it when guests show him some love, with a head scratch!

We ensure a very clean and comfortable stay. The main floor is accessible, with a loft-style, comfy queen bed area, sitting area, and full kitchen.

The downstairs accommodates a second bedroom, with an antique double bed, laundry, full washroom, and lounge area.

This is also the access to the private guest backyard equipped with a picnic table, fire pit, chairs, firewood for campfires under the stars, and skewers for roasting your marshmallows.

The Farm Shed has central air-conditioning and a natural gas fireplace for heating, supplemented by an electric heater wall unit that makes it comfortable all year round.

It is a quick drive to anywhere in the city yet still in a small town setting . A short drive outside of the city puts you in the heart of Mennonite country with villages that offer local attractions and markets. Also close by is the Elora racetrack and casino.
I also offer the opportunity for you to take a private three hour canoe trip down the Grand river where you’ll be surrounded by nature . I will provide all the essentials and the transportation .

We were attending a wedding, and I needed an iron and ironing board. We had been travelling, so needed to do laundry, and washer/dryer there with cleaning pods. We wanted to save cost and eat at 'home', and we didn't lack for anything to do that. The bedsheets are super white, perfectly pristine, and soft. I slept every night deeper and longer than I do at home. Our teenage daughter was able to have her own room, and the little deck out front was agreeable to enjoying a morning coffee. Parking is just out back of the house. You go right through the front door, so it feels like your 'own' little house. You can hear footsteps of people above, but this is a house, not a concrete apartment, so to be expected and personally, I find it a homey sound. The bed is squeaky, but it didn't keep us from getting a good sleep and it certainly didn't affect the comfort of the bed. Overall just a terrific set-up and will book there again next time we're in KW."

The house is a wellness sanctuary modelled in the spirit of an "ashram," so as part of that, there's a Yoga/meditation space and supplies, a sauna and steam shower, a library/board game/art/music room, gym equipment with rowing machine, a friendly dog, ample greenery, bird feeders, spiritual/inspirational artwork, aromatherapy, and plenty else! A beautiful retreat type of atmosphere!!

There is a double-sized bed, and space to store your things including a rack to hang clothing, a chest of drawers in the room one drawer in the wahtoon and a sgelf in the kitchen. The neighborhood is stately and beautiful, steps way from King street and Uptown. Full-kitchen access and fridge space. Shared washroom and kitchen. You will surely enjoy your stay. No parking is available in driveway, but you can park on the street for free for 15 days, or get a parking pass (2 min walk).

The space
This is nice and soothing room with a view to the quiet street, same level as the kitchen and washroom. Has wood laminate flooring and a small desk. The window is sealed in the winter so there are no drafts, functional during the warmer spring and fall days. We have air-conditioner in other windows so during the summer we keep the windows closed and the cool air spreads all throughout the house.
There is a possibility of one or 2 more guests sharing the washroom and the kitchen. The kitchen is used by all guests and me ( with my 2 children who are here every other day). The laundry is in the building basement and is used by all tenants , so us and other 2 apartment units.

• The larger TV has a full cable package with lots of channels.
• Feel free to pull curtains across the patio doors if you need more shade.
• Smoking is permitted outside on the back deck. Please use the ashtray provided.
• Please be respectful of our downstairs guests and enjoy your room after 9:00 pm (Quiet hours).

Bathroom
• Help yourself to the body wash, shampoo, and conditioner.
• Please ensure the bathtub/shower is wiped down after each use.
• The bathroom is not a place to store your items, please keep your towels/personal items in your room.
• Please limit your use of the bathroom to 30 minutes when other guests are in the house.

Laundry
• Help yourself to the wash tower located in the main foyer.
• Laundry Detergent and fabric softener available beside wash tower.
• Other guests share the wash tower, so set a ‘Laundry alarm’ for when the cycle is finished.
• Additional Cleaning supplies as well as a vacuum can be found beside the Wash Tower
