Whenever possible, we use local and national products from small producers. As is the case with our traditional Portuguese breakfast, made with fresh products of the day.
Despite our small size, we are constantly looking for new ideas to offer our customers a better service without forgetting the impact on our environment.
In our decoration we combine products that allow us to offer every comfort with natural materials of sustainable production, wood, some of which are recycled and some original items imagined and elaborated by us.
Reducing water and energy consumption, using more efficient equipment, promoting waste recycling. Whenever possible, reducing single-use plastics, such as cups, straws, cutlery, individual doses of shampoo and shower gel. Controlling the frequency of changing bed linen and towels, without jeopardizing maximum hygiene.
Thus sensitizing everyone to reduce our ecological footprint.

"Casa do Poço" is a Guesthouse, near the train station and the bus station, you can easy walk to the center of the town(5 minutes walking). Near the house you have several facilities . You will love it because you will be receive as familiy, and here you will find a place to relax.

The space
This is a century-old house, restored by a couple, in love with the city of Olhão. Unique architecture, combining contemporary and current features, with 4 rooms with private W.C., several common areas, a kitchen with dining room, living room, and outdoor terraces where you can enjoy our climate. The whole house is equipped with AC, WI-FI and TV's. Be Welcome to "Casa do Poço".

Quinta da Abelha is a bed and breakfast in the Algarve of Portugal. Run by us, Jan and Linda van der Bij. We moved to Portugal in 2015. With the bed & breakfast we have fulfilled our long-time dream to start an adventure abroad.  After a search of one year we bought an old fruit plantation near the small town of Laranjeiro.
After an extensive renovation our project is complete. And we look forward to greet you as our guest in the oasis of peace that we have created.

The space
Our bed & breakfast is located in a fruit plantation. Which we have renovated into a wonderful bed & breakfast. Room 1, located on the first floor of the old farmhouse which we renovated in style. The room has an ensuite bathroom and a private roof terrace.

Our guests have acces to their guest room, all of our outside grounds, the breakfast room and the communal pool.

Other things to note
We have two pets on our property, our dog Saar and cat Miep. We will make sure that you will come in contact with our pets as little as possible.

Tourist tax has been made mandatory in the Algarve since July 1, 2023. This must be paid at check-in, under the following conditions: from April to October €2 per night per person and from November to March €1 per night per person (maximum payment is 5 nights per person and children up to 16 years do not pay tourist tax).
