The Old Vicarage Coach house was built in 1750 as part of a farmhouse. In 1860 the property was purchased as a Vicarage for the Church. Now completely refurbished it is warm, with stunning views across farmland to the Pennine hills. It has its own entrance where there is a washer dryer. Up the oak staircase to a kitchen with fridge, microwave/oven and induction hob, bathroom (shower), double bed with sofa and TV. Close to Lyme park and Peak District but 15 minutes from Manchester Airport.

'The Vestry' is an 1846 church building, now a delightful studio cottage for couples, families or business trips with easy access to Manchester airport/city. On the edge of the Peak District it includes a comfortable double bed, 2 single beds on the mezzanine. Relax in front of the wood burning stove, or on the lovely rear deck overlooking our brook and woodland. It’s an easy 5 minute walk to the village with great pubs, shops and restaurants. We have an EV charger available at 20p/pkh

The space
Lovingly renovated we have transformed The Vestry into a private sanctuary full of character, history and interest.

With its own entrance and the ability to self check in - this property is perfect if you are currently wanting to have a break away from being at home without the worry of sharing facilities with other people. We have subscribed to the Airbnb 'Commitment to Clean' which means you can be assured of a safe space to enjoy some much needed time away.

The Vestry comfortably sleeps 4, with the main bed on the ground floor and 2 single beds on the mezzanine level. You do need to climb a ladder up to mezzanine so we recommend that only children over 7 should sleep up top. For younger children, or those who need access to the bathroom during the night, we can provide an additional single bed on the ground floor. The mezzanine isn't just for children however, and adults can also sleep up there (just watch the head height) as it can be a little tight (see photos).

There is an en-suite bathroom with a fabulous shower, and we provide towels and toiletries, as well as all linen, duvets and pillows. If you're planning to stay for more than a few days, we're happy to do a change over of linen and towels during your stay. (Please ensure you ask us to so we know to have the linen ready for you)

The wood burning stove will be ready to light on arrival, so you can enjoy the warmth and ambience of a real fire! There are plenty of board games too, and in the summer the children are welcome to play in the courtyard.

We provide a selection of teas, coffee and milk for your arrival so you can settle in after your drive, and we supply Eggs, Fresh Baked Bread, Butter and a variety of cereals for breakfast. In the kitchenette there is an under-counter fridge freezer and microwave and electric frying pan with some basics such as salt, pepper and oil. We are within an easy walk to the village and we find a lot of our guests like to eat out when they are here, and with a variety of cafes, delis and restaurants there are lots of great options to choose from.

The bi-fold doors open up to a very private deck, overlooking the brook and our woodland, which is full of wildlife. This is a beautiful, private spot, with a table and chairs perfect for breakfast, or an end-of-day G&T or glass of wine!

You can park on our driveway or smaller cars can drive into the courtyard - there is additional parking around the corner from the property should you need it.

Poynton is a fantastic village for walking and cycling and The Vestry is perfectly located. From the front door you can walk to many of the accessible footpaths that weave through the village, up towards the canal and Lyme Park or down through the Village and over to Poynton Pool. We are available to give you any guidance and recommend places to go to should you need it.

We also have and EV charger available to guests at 20p/pkh so if you have an electric car you are welcome to charge while you are here. Please advise in advance so we can organise our cars.

While The Vestry is on our property, situated in the courtyard behind our house, it and the lovely deck area is all yours and very private with its own entrance door access.

We have a key safe for self check in, and while we are generally at home and available if you have any questions, due to current safe distancing we will leave you to settle in and come and go as you please. Our guests really feel they are away from it all and often comment on how idyllic the location is.

Other things to note
The kitchenette includes an electric frying pan, toaster, kettle, cafetiere, microwave oven and under counter fridge freezer, so its not a full kitchen. We do supply free range eggs, fresh baked bread, butter, cereals, tea, milk, coffee, bowls, plates and cutlery, glasses. If you require any further kitchen equipment feel free to ask and we can organize that for you.

There isnt aTV - but with good wifi you can watch TV on screens/tablets. We do have a bluetooth speaker, bluetooth DAB radio, and a selection of magazines, board games and cards.

There isnt any washing machine either although we can recommend a laundry if you need to do washing.

As The Vestry is next door to a Methodist Church please note that there is a church service at 10am and 6pm on a Sunday, and a band which practices for the service from 9am Sunday morning. We share an adjoining wall with the church so please note you will hear the band when they are playing.

There is also band practice on a Monday night (other than bank holidays). Normally finishing approx 9.30pm-10pm.

where there is a lovely village with great restaurants and village pubs . It is also a 5 minute walk on a private road which then gains you access into the national trust of Lyme park , with various walking routes.

The space
“Brierwood” is perfect for all those who love walking in the countryside.
The accommodation is explicit, downstairs comes with a kitchen with a welcome pack of coffee, tea, milk, sugar, bread, butter and jam.
The bathroom contains a shower with a welcome pack of shampoo/conditioner/ and body wash. Next to the shower room has its own WC. Towels are provided.

The bedroom which is very spacious consists of a comfortable king size bed , a dining area , Tv, wardrobe, and dressing table with hairdryer. Linen provided.

We also are pet friendly and have the things needed for your pet to have a comfortable stay too.

Upstairs will blow you away with its space, there is a seating area with an open fire, for you to watch tv on the 55inch screen, we also have basketball game and pool/air hockey table.

Outside is gated with your own parking space and a lovely seating area where you can see Lyme cage.
