You have the De Smederij guest house all to yourself and it has its own entrance. Parking is free for guests. It is a few steps away from the IJssel and within walking distance of the historic center of Zutphen and the station. Zutphen is at home in all markets. Speaking of market; the market on Thursday and Saturday in the center is worth a stroll. Cycling with the wind in your hair in the countryside or to a museum or theater. Relax or work. Everything is possible in Zutphen!

The space
The guest house covers 35 m2 and has its own entrance. There is central heating for a cozy warm stay and on hot days you can turn on the air conditioning for the necessary cooling. The attractive kitchen-cum-workspace has a dining table and a separate desk. Wi-Fi is free.
The kitchen area is fully equipped. There is also a washing machine.
The bathroom has a toilet, sink, shower and heating.
The living/sleeping area has a comfortable sofa, a small TV and an extra chair. The books are ready to dive into. If your book isn't finished when you leave, just take it with you. Please leave the books about the area for the next guests.
The sleeping area has a queen-size bed (160x200) and a wardrobe.
The name Guest House De Smederij:
Stef's father was a blacksmith. The facade sign forged by him was moved to the guest house and the name was born.

Guest access
From the NS station it is a 15-minute walk to Guest House De Smederij. Parking is in the street. There is a blue zone here, but after registration of the license plate via the host, parking is free during the stay.

Other things to note
The stay is without breakfast. Zutphen offers many options for breakfast. There are also plenty of options nearby to do your own shopping. Zutphen is a city for gourmets; there are shops specialized in organic products, luxury delicatessens, but of course also the well-known supermarkets. There are also plenty of restaurants in all price ranges with a national or international menu. And in the kitchen of the guest house you will find everything you need to make your own food. There is also plenty of coffee and tea available.

Why come to B&B Berkeltuin? Because our house is so nicely located on the Berkel, close to the Center, while it seems like you are staying outside the city. The space
•The master bedroom (18 m2) has a twin bed, a table with 2 chairs and a TV. A microwave, plates, cutlery, and coffee, and tea facilities.
•The intermediate room (11 m2) has a double sofa bed, a table with 2 chairs.
•The bathroom (4.5 m2) with sink, toilet and shower can only be reached from the intermediate room.
•The B&B is therefore suitable for 1- 2 people or for parents with children or for 3-4 people who do not bother each other. Cot and high chair available.
•On the landing (6.5 m2) is a seating area with a minibar.
•The rooms can be locked.
The price is €80 for 1 person in the low season and €85 per person in the high season between April 1 and October 31. For each guest more €15,-extra, so for 4 people €125/130,- Discount for longer stays.
Breakfast is not included in the room rate. The price is €15 per person per day for the 1st and 2nd guest and 7.50 per person per day for the 3rd and 4th guest.
Guests have their own seat in the garden under the plum tree. The generous breakfast (including jam and honey from our own garden) is served there or in the intermediate room. If desired, you can put together a packed lunch yourself. And maybe you can help us pick and eat berries, blackberries, plums, or apples.
We rent 2 bikes and a Canadian 2-3 person canoe. And we have a crib and high chair

Guest access
Through the front door, the stairs go up. Through the landing, you can reach the rooms and the bathroom via a lockable door. Our dog never comes up, so never in the B&B. Approximately 300 m2 of the garden is available to guests.

During your stay
Extensive documentation of all sights, events, cycling and hiking opportunities in the area and region is available in the room. We speak Dutch, French, German, English and Spanish. We are happy to help with all your questions you may have. And we have all kinds of tips for you

Other things to note
You can swim in the Berkel or go by canoe. We have extra towels and bathrobes and 2 children's and 2 adult life jackets available. Sup shelves and other canoes can be rented nearby.
We have a high chair and a crib. Electric bike and car charging is possible. We have 4 bicycles for rent.

The luxurious and stylish residence is located on the Berkel in the historic Hanseatic city of Zutphen.

It is a wonderful base for exploring Zutphen and its surroundings all year round. It is only a few minutes' walk to the city. Zutphen is a beautiful city with many historic buildings with nice shops, museums and many restaurants.

There are several hiking/cycling routes. So you can explore the IJssel/Berkel area, the forests or Veluwe.

From the backyard, you can get on a paddleboard or in a canoe.

The space
The Suphuis has recently been renovated, has its own entrance and a cozy living room with beautiful views of the backyard and the Berkel. It features a cozy bedroom with a comfortable double bed, equipped with luxury bed linen.

The kitchen is fully equipped and has a refrigerator, dishwasher, induction cooktop with extraction, toaster, Nespresso machine and kettle. Also, all the necessities are available to enjoy (free) coffee or tea.

Finally, there is a modern bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet, sink and hairdryer with free use of bath linen (towels and bathrobes).

In the backyard, it is nice to stay in the sitting area on the edge of the water. Here you can enjoy the area from early morning until late at night.

You can choose to actively go in or on the water.
There is an outdoor shower to rinse off.

You can explore the area with a paddle board or canoe. Upon arrival, this can be arranged for a small additional fee, and you can pay this amount on site.

Upon arrival, a tourist tax of €2.70 per person per night must be paid.

Nice to know:
The Suphuis is cooled and heated with an air conditioner, and all the energy for this is generated by solar panels and a heat pump. The Suphuis is energy-neutral.

Guest access
You can use the Suphuis, the Berkel and the backyard.

The backyard is also regularly used by Berkelfun. This makes it a lively situation with people renting or returning a canoe or SUP.

On our own grounds, there is 1 parking space for guests of the SUPHUIS. The car can be charged (at your own expense) at the charging station.

We have a covered bicycle shed with charging facilities for electric bicycles.

There is a possibility to rent a canoe or SUP board at a reduced rate. Feel free to ask about the possibilities upon arrival.

Other things to note
From spring 2025, we will offer the possibility to rent a lady's and a men's e-bike.
This can be indicated when booking and can be settled on site.

For a stay in Zutphen, tourist tax must be paid. This is currently €2.70 per person per night and must be paid in cash (upon arrival).
