We were there to work and it was nice to have a peaceful and comfortable place to rest!" - "My husband, a friend and I rented it for a weekend to float the river, it was so cute and clean! We were amazed with how clean it was and organized. The only problem we had was finding it but it didn’t take long! We will definitely be back"

Guest Reviews:

- "Fun,long drive " - "We stayed 2 nights for a cousin float trip. Our host was great answering all my questions quickly and even connected me with the host of the cabin right next door so we could all be close to each other! There was plenty of parking and the outside sitting area was perfect! There were a lot of little touches that made a huge difference, like providing coffe pods, sugar, and fans in each sleeping area! The lofts were really spacious but the celing is low so I would keep the really tall people downstairs. There are a ton of extra blankets that were so soft my nephew asked if we could keep one. The air conditioning felt so good coming in from the heat! There is a climber with swing and a slide but the best part was a small zip line for kids! The area felt very safe and private. There were other people staying on the property but we didn't even hear them. We've stayed on site of some of the float companies before and didnt get any sleep due to the noise level. Here we all slept great! We had a great time and are so happy we stayed here! Just a warning though Apple maps will take you to the wrong place so look out for the Adventure Wilderness sign and if you come to a sign saying dead end turn around and go left and its about 3 miles away."

- "Good" - "We only got to enjoy one night. The second got a call from my Daughter that she had been hit on the highway by a semi. We had to leave immediately" - "The cabin was comfy and clean. The only issue was that the DVD player was missing and with no Wi-Fi or cable service, we couldn’t use the TV at all. The futon bed worked but one of the sides would not stay connected to the bed and if sat on, it would fall in. The other beds were comfy and there were towels, extra sheets, a lighter, and silverware which was a nice touch. The other thing to mention is that it really is one room and a loft."

- "We stayed for a weekend so we could float the river and enjoy the outdoors. I didn’t realize it was a 30 minute drive from All American Floats but, we enjoyed the drive so much, we didn’t even mind. The camp is very well kept. Our little cabin was all we needed. There were 4 of us adults and we had enough space. The upper loft bed area is pretty small and would suit children better than adults. We didn’t use it. The fold out bed was very spacious and easy to set up and down. There are extra blankets, a full refrigerator, a tv with dvd player, some dvd movies, a coffee maker and coffee. The little porch was nice in the mornings and nights. It faces the picnic table, fire pit and woods instead of other camps/the road, which we thought was a great idea. We saw tons of lightning bugs, bright colored birds, squirrels and rabbits. Really pretty area. The bathhouse is well kept, good size and a short walk across the playground. I never had to wait more than a minute or two for one of the bathrooms/showers to be available. We had a great time and would definitely book here again."

Eagle Rock Cabin Illinois River view
Cabin
Tahlequah, Oklahoma, USA

Summary:
Located at The River Bluff Cabins, a beautiful, secluded, 26 acre property with river access! It’s only 6 miles to Tahlequah. The cabin has 2 bedrooms each with a queen and full bed and 2 bathrooms. The newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms have all the modern conveniences and the vintage decor around the cabin makes for a unique experience. Eagles, deer, and other wildlife are regularly seen. The property also has another 8-person cabin, 4 glamping sites, and 6 RV sites.

The Space:
The cabin was built in 1936 and has wonderful charm and character. The feel of the old cabin mixes well with the vintage decor. We remodeled the kitchen and bathrooms and the living room and bedrooms are super cute and comfy. There is a sitting area just off the kitchen with an up close view of the river. Each bedroom has a queen and full bed and each bathroom has a tiled shower, toilet and sink. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal and you’ll have your own laundry machines. The view from the back porch is breathtaking. Pictures just don't do it justice. The river access is about 1/3 of a mile down a trail that drops 160 ft in elevation. The usability of the river varies quite a bit depending on the water level. When we’ve had a lot of rain, the water flows swiftly and can be a challenge for younger kids. However during dryer times, the water is down and moves much slower, making it easier for young kids to enjoy. Even when the water is fast, young kids can play on the edge where it’s a couple of feet deep and has a slow swirl back upstream. There are deep pools just upstream and downstream for those who can swim well. Keep in mind that the water moves rocks constantly so the form of the river bottom always changes.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire cabin and property except the area around the shop building. Our property line is about 20 feet into the woods on all sides. You will have your own fire pit and yard. The river is 1/3 of a mile down a walking path that drops about 160 feet in elevation.

The Neighborhood:
The property is 6 miles from the east edge of Tahlequah. It's 4.5 miles to Riverbend by the Bridge, 4.6 miles to All American Floats, 9.4 miles to Illinois River Outfitters, 10 miles to War Eagle, 9.6 miles to Diamondhead, and 14 miles to Eagle Bluff Resort.

Other Things to Note:
-We allow pets but we charge a $50 pet fee. -Most of the bluff is not an immediate cliff but there are places along the ridge where the drop off is more than a few feet down. Please keep an eye on small children and your drunk brother in law.

Interaction with Guests:
I'll be available by messaging through the app or by text or phone. I live on the property so I'm close if a need arises.

Guest Reviews:

- "House had everything listed and good location " - "This home was perfect. Tucked away in a secluded wooded area, it felt like a true escape. A horse roamed freely on the property, adding a charming touch to the serene atmosphere. The spacious rooms were beautifully decorated, and the back patio offered stunning views of the river, complete with rocking chairs that made for peaceful moments. Our host was incredibly helpful, guiding us through any mishaps and answering all our questions. We can’t wait to return!"

A-Frame Cabin on the river
Cabin
Scraper

Modern, brand new a-frame cabin on the river. Overlooks the peaceful Illinois river. Watch the floaters go by from the comfort of your deck. The cabin is luxurious with all the modern amenities, hot tub professionally maintained, fast wifi and Roku TV. This is the perfect place to sneak away with a loved one for a long weekend on the river. By day you watch the constant stream of floater and kayakers, by early evening it’s the wildlife’s turn with eagles, owls and crane take over the banks.

The space
The cabin is around 500 sq ft., however boasts 22 ft. ceilings always leaving the space feeling open and airy. The cabin consists of a small sitting area with a Roku TV for you to sign in to your favorite programming. The kitchen has a sink, 2 burner electric stovetop, a microwave and toaster. Coffee is a provided and a keurig k cup coffee machine on site. The kitchen is equipped with all the basics, except the fridge/freezer does not make ice, but can be purchased at any float places near by. Outside is a weber grill in which I supply the propane.

During your stay you will have access to a small walkway through the woods to a small platform with a ladder for water access. I don't currently have a rockbar so I recommend bringing some small camping chairs and swim across to hang out, which is so much fun as that is where rafts hang out, but you a 1 minute swim from AC and the restroom and a cold bee----I mean soda.

During your stay most people want to float, I don't blame you. I'm situated between Eagle Bluff and Arrowhead resorts. Both are excellent options, however I usually do Eagle Bluff as the last mile you can stop off at the cabin for a nice break. During the offseason you will need to go through Illinois River Outfitters, who float year round by appointment.

Sitting approximately 1/2 mile from the banks of the river on 400+ acres of private property, this beautiful property is perfect for hiking, fishing, viewing wildlife, or just relaxing around the outdoor firepit. Reconnect with nature, and hike or drive down through our property to access the river or fish from our nearby ponds.

For those who simply want to relax with a good book; just plop yourself down in a comfy beanbag situated in the little Reading Nook upstairs and relax to your heart's content. (We also have several board and card games stored in the Reading Nook space upstairs.)

Enjoy the view while grilling on our outdoor gas grill; located on the front deck.

Guest access
Guests will have access to over 400 acres for hiking, viewing wildlife, accessing the river, fishing (river or pond), or just exploring. Please bear in mind that this is a working cattle ranch, and as such you may see activities with tractors, other vehicles, and cattle around the property. If you go through any gates, please leave the gates the way you found them. They are usually closed or open for specific reasons.

You are welcome to fish in any of our ponds, but you will have the best chance of catching fish in our big pond that has the floating pontoon dock.

There is also a private home on the property with a gravel drive that is surrounded by a white fence. About halfway down the drive there is a cattle guard just before the point of where the yard of the home begins. Please don’t cross the cattle guard and enter the yard of the home, or enter any of the equipment barns. Feel free to roam the rest of property.

If you have questions concerning property boundaries, directions, etc., please feel free to message us.

Other things to note
We are pet friendly, and pets are welcome to be off of the leash while you are roaming around the property with the following exceptions.

1. Please maintain control of your pets at all times.

2. If you leave your pets at the cabin while you are gone, we do ask that you keep them crated while you are away.

3. Please don’t allow them to chase the cattle. This is dangerous for the cattle and you as sometimes cattle will become aggressive around pets if they sense danger.

4. While in the Flat Rocks river area (northern end of the property), please keep your pets leashed while you are in or near that area. The Flat Rocks area is on the northern boundary lines of the property, and there are homes and properties very near this area that are NOT part of the ranch property. We have good neighbors, and we appreciate your help and understanding in keeping it that way.

We believe in protecting this special place, the wildlife, the watershed, and take pride in leaving this land as we found it. Guests can expect to encounter wildlife, reptiles, insects, and native plants which may include poison ivy.

In addition to the grounds around the cabin, we maintain a large meadow near the entry gate that is perfect for viewing deer in the evening and catching lightning bugs. On occasion
you may catch a glimpse of the pair of foxes that live in the hollow northwest of the cabin.

We also maintain a campsite along the river just a short ATV ride down Fire Run Trail or you can drive down the county road to our river road gate and drive almost all the way to the river at a parking area. From there it's a short walk to the river and campsite. It is the perfect spot to setup camp and enjoy the views of the river. Guests can wade directly into the river and spend hours swimming, fishing, or just having a relaxing soak in the river. Depending on the river conditions the guests can navigate to the gravel bar on the opposite shore for an easy walk upriver and when you’re ready to come back to the campsite just hop in and float on down.

While on the property guests can enjoy many recreational activities such as fishing, kayaking, and floating but must abide by GRDA rules (Link to GRDA Regulations) and regulations. Please consider wearing life jackets while near the water as there is no lifeguard on duty and guests are responsible for their own safety at all times. Please do not jump from the banks into the river for safety as the river can be shallow and debris can be hidden. We highly encourage guardians of children to have proper conversations regarding water safety and keep a close eye on all children during their stay.

Guests will have access to the entire house as well as the grounds and river access. Please be mindful to stay on our property and respect our neighbor's property by not trespassing.

Please do not damage the grounds during your visit, collect all trash and dispose of it properly and refrain from using glass bottles while on the grounds or river during your stay. Thank you.

This is a perfect float for beginners or little kids.

For all the guests looking to hike feel free to roam the entire property. There are two maintained trails on the property Fire Run Trail and The Ridge Trail. See the map on the refrigerator. Fire Run Tail approximately 1 mile and ends at the private river camp site. The trail is for the experienced hiker with steep hills and about 300 feet in elevation change to the river valley. Buffalo Cabin; Gorgeous Illinois River view!
Cabin
Scraper

Buffalo Cabin at The River Bluff Cabins has a breathtaking view of the Illinois River and also access to the water. The River Trail takes you about 1/3 of a mile down a scenic path to the river. The secluded, gated property is well kept and the cabin is cute, comfy, and clean. It’s 6 miles to Tahlequah and 4.6 miles to All American floats. Bring your family and friends and make unforgettable memories! The property also has another 8 person cabin, 4 glamping sites, and 6 RV sites.

The space
The cabin has an open kitchen/living/dining area, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a laundry room. You can see the River from the master bedroom and kitchen/living/dining rooms. The master has a huge desk with granite countertops and has an attached bathroom. There is a huge carport and a wrap around porch overlooking the river.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire cabin and 26 acre property except the area around the shop building. Our property line is about 20 feet into the woods on all sides. You will have your own fire pit and yard. The river is just 1/3 of a mile down a walking path that drops about 160 feet in elevation. There is a gate at the entrance to the property. I will send a code for entry before your reservation starts.

Other things to note
-We allow pets but we charge a $50 pet fee. -Most of the bluff is not an immediate cliff but there are places along the ridge where the drop off is more than a few feet down. Please keep an eye on small children. This is a no smoking property. If a smoke smell is present inside the cabin, we will charge an extra fee of $200.

Ann's Place
Cabin
Scraper

Welcome to Ann's Place on the scenic Illinois River. With its rustic charm and modern comforts your family is certain to make memories together. This 1920's log cabin boasts 10 private acres of open meadows and private river front access for swimming, paddling, or fishing. Stargaze around the firepit as the family catches lightning bugs. Enjoy this cabin in the fall as the large canopy of mature trees changes colors. Don't wait, book your memorable stay today!

The space
The Cabin

Stay in a little piece of history that has been along the Illinois River for over a century. The log cabin was built in 1920. Take a walk on the original hardwood floors of the main cabin that has been converted to a spacious living room with two reclining sofas, opening to the fully stocked kitchen and table that seats six and bar seating four. The main bathroom for the property has a tub with shower.
From the original cabin take two steps up to the two-story addition built in 1999 that gives this house all the modern comforts while maintaining its rustic charm. The bottom level consists of the main entrance, two king bedrooms, one hosting the second bathroom that has a walk-in shower. The laundry room has a full-size washer and dryer for guests to use as needed.
Move up the staircase leading to the other two bedrooms. One room is set up as a bunk house consisting of one full bed and two queen size beds. This is a great room for kids to have a great night staying up late and telling stories from their adventures. The second room upstairs has a queen bed and plenty of room for a pack and play for little ones or an air mattress for additional guests (not provided by the host).

The Back Porch

The living room opens to the spacious covered back porch with a table seating six and more room for additional folding tables. Enjoy grilling out on the 6-burner gas grill while watching the sunset and enjoying a cold beverage. Walk down the steps to the large firepit with plenty of seating while the family plays horseshoes. Once the sun goes down, turn on the string lights for additional lighting.

The Grounds

We believe in protecting the grounds, wildlife and watersheds as much as possible and take pride in leaving this land better than we found it. We do not spray for pests or weeds to prevent harsh chemicals entering the ground and water. Guests are encouraged to bring bug spray to apply while enjoying the outdoor areas. The property is in the county by the water so guests can expect to encounter wildlife, reptiles, insects, and native plants which may include poison ivy. We maintain the two large meadows one closer to the back porch that is easier to keep an eye on the kids. The second one is located next to the river which does not have a clear view from the house or back porch but is the perfect spot to setup a camp and enjoy the views of the river.
From the back porch follow either meadow all the way down to the private river access which is about a 2–3-minute walk (roughly 300 yards). Guests can wade directly into the river and spend hours swimming and saying hi to the paddlers passing by. Depending on the river conditions the guests can navigate to the gravel bar on the opposite shore for an easy walk upriver and when you’re ready to come back to the landing just hop in and float on down.
While on the property guests are privy to recreational activities such as fishing, kayaking, and floating if they follow GRDA rules and regulations. Please consider wearing life preservers while near the water as there is no lifeguard on duty and guests are responsible for their own safety at all times. Please do not jump from the banks into the river for safety as the river can be shallow and debris can be hidden. We highly encourage guardians of children to have proper conversations regarding water safety and keep a close eye on all children during their stay.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire house as well as the grounds and river access. The shop is not available to guests during their stay. Please be mindful to stay on our property and obey neighboring no trespassing signs.

Please do not damage the grounds during your visit, collect all trash and dispose of it properly and refrain from using glass bottles while on the grounds or river during your stay. Thank you.

Other things to note
Ann’s Place is in the perfect location to visit the beautiful town of Tahlequah. Enjoy restaurants such as Emery’s Grill, Southside, Morgans Bakery, Kroner and Bear, The Branch and many others.

If you are in town to float the Illinois River, the cabin is located close to all the main operators like War Eagle, River Bend Floats and many more while giving you a quiet retreat at the end of a long day to look forward to. The cabin is less than a mile away from Todd Public Access, which is a perfect spot to put your own floats in the river and enjoy the 30–45-minute float back to the cabin’s private river access landing. This is a perfect float for beginners or little kids.

For all the guests looking to hike, this area of Oklahoma has multiple state parks to enjoy. If you enjoy the lake life and would like to visit either Lake Tenkiller or Fort Gibson Lake, you are just a 45-minute drive away.
