This cabin is available for rent May through October. In spring, summer and fall relax on the lawn at Clam Lake's edge -- 100 feet of private frontage! Park your boat in our 24-foot location covered boat slip or fish and traverse Antrim County's 67-mile long Chain-O'-Lakes. Great fishing for perch, pike, walleye, and bass. Nearby there are more features to enjoy than one vacation can accommodate, great shopping, casual and fine dining, golf on a wide range of courses, water sports, nature preserves, beautiful sunsets and the air itself --clear and clean. Three bedrooms, one with twin beds, 2 with 1 double bed. One bathroom with shower. Screened porch. Wifi, cable TV. 100' of private lawn and lakefront. The Alden Sunset Cabin is located within a ¼ mile of four public beaches (lake accesses) located along Lake Street which is easily accessed by way of a short trail through the woods on our property. The public beaches are open during the day for your enjoyment and provide a wonderful setting for your family to enjoy the beautiful water of Torch Lake. The public beaches (lake accesses) DO NOT allow overnight mooring of your boat or water craft and are closed at night. Please don’t do this.

Alden Sunset Cabin is a short 1/4 mile walk as well from downtown Alden – a charming small town with a spirit you have to experience to believe. Alden is known for its flower-lined streets where everyone you meet offers a friendly greeting. Alden has several restaurants, and Higgins General Store that has the best, biggest, ice cream cones you could ever eat. The town has cute boutique stores, a deli, family bar, tennis and basketball courts, and a park with a playground. Just at the end of the road are the public boat launch, library and community center. The popular Dockside restaurant is just 10 minutes away by boat or car. Torch Lake’s famous sandbar is also a short boat ride away at the southern end of the lake.

Alden Sunset Cabin is fully furnished and provides central air conditioning for those extra hot summer nights as well as Flat Screen Cable TV and Wi-Fi. We supply all linens, pillows, towels, paper products and soap products. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishes and all pots and pans as well as a dining table which seats four. We provide a queen sized, pillow top bed along with a pull out couch that converts to a queen size bed. The patio provides a Weber Grill along with an outside table and seating for four. We also provide several comfortable chairs for your relaxation. You can’t go “up north” without enjoying a camp fire and the cabin has its own fire pit along with 4 chairs for everyone’s comfort.

Alden Sunset Cabin is located within the village of Alden on SE Torch Lake Drive and has access to Lake Street which is a very quiet street via a wooded trail west of the cabin. We encourage you to utilize this trail for walks and bike rides. Alden Sunset Cabin has a maximum occupancy of 4 people.

We took day trips on the boat to Bellaire, Shorts brewery and to Elk Rapids, Shorts brewery. We also spent a couple days on the Torch lake sandbar. All accessible by boat. They have beautiful pontoon boats to rent right at Northaire if you do not have your own. Such a great location and a very relaxing week. We will be back. Thank you."

A rustic 1950s log cabin that has been tastefully updated with today’s modern finishes and amenities. Water is the backdrop of life in Bellaire. Swimming, boating, fishing and beach-combing are summer activities that give way in the fall to driving tours along some of Michigan’s most scenic back roads. Centrally located allowing access to activities all year long.

The space:
This is an original log cabin that uses a well for water and has a septic system. We ask that you please be mindful of what goes down the drain. Most of the cabin was recently refurbished; however, it still maintains its original charm and some of the original fixtures. It is well kept and clean but it is on the lake so please do not be surprised to see an occasional bug inside.

There are two 30-foot docks that are available during the stay for personal or rental boats. Kayaks are also available for use with lifejackets provided.

This is a dog friendly cabin and even though we do a thorough job cleaning, if you are allergic to dogs this may not be the best option for you.

The cabin sits on a double lot, so there is room for parking both vehicles and trailers in the yard next to the cabin. The cabin is located about a mile east of Torch Lake and provides access via water.

Clam Cottage is located on the south side of Clam Lake, midway between Torch Lake and Grass River. It offers 2 bedrooms and a 3/4 bath. Sleeps 4. This is a rustic cottage is great for a couple or fishermen. Perfect if you have a boat, bring it! If you don't, no problem! There are several marinas in the immediate area that rent all types of watercraft. There is a dock to tie up to and from Clam Lake you have access to the 60 miles of waterways that make up the Lower Chain of Lakes, consisting of Torch Lake, Elk Lake, Lake Bellaire, Lake Skegemog and more!

Besides enjoying the beautiful lakes, there's a lot more to see and do in the area! Save time to visit the local towns of Alden, Bellaire and Elk Rapids, where you'll enjoy exploring unique, locally owned shops, casual or fine dining, wine tasting and craft breweries. The quaint town of Alden features a small marina where you can dock your boat. Stroll into town and visit the many one-of-a-kind shops like Nifty Things, Carter's Candles and The Pear Tree. Enjoy excellent muffins, a light breakfast or lunch at the Muffin Tin, hand-dipped ice cream at the Lakeside Dip or Higgins Store, dining at the Torch Lake Beer Company, a tasting room at Vista Ridge Winery (featuring locally produced wine) and many wonderful shops like the Alden Mill House for a large selection of kitchen gadgets, fresh spices, and spice blends. Venture to Bellaire, home of Shanty Creek Resort and Schuss Mountain for world-class golf, skiing and fine dining overlooking Lake Bellaire. More adventure awaits to the north of the condo, 1 1/2 hours away you'll discover the Mackinac Bridge leading you to the untamed Upper Peninsula. Or, catch a ferry to Mackinac Island and visit the Grand Hotel, explore shopping and dining in the quaint town, visit historic Fort Mackinac, or rent bikes and ride the 8-mile shoreline circumference of the island. Not into biking? Catch a ride on a horse-drawn carriage, because no cars are allowed on the island!

Clam Cottage is reasonably priced and this allows you to sight see around the area without breaking the bank. Whatever you decide to do while in the area, one thing is certain, you won't want to leave.

It does say it sleep 5 to 6 but there is not a lot of privacy as their are only curtains for doors. We only had two of us there so it was ok but I wouldn’t try to fit more unless you have young kids."

The space
Cabin is simple and comfortably furnished so you can enjoy all the area has to offer. Kayaking, boating, hiking, shopping, dining, winery tours, etc. are all close by. Cabin has a TV and DVD player but no cable or satellite service. Cell phone reception is generally quite good in this area, but we do not provide internet service. There is a propane wall furnace for the cool months.

Enjoy this classic log cabin located in Alden on a wooded lot. The cabin is only a short walk to great swimming, fishing, and boating on Torch Lake.

The cabin is private, with one seasonal neighbor next door and one neighbor across the street. The yard has room for a boat trailer and you can use our fire pit for campfires. Guests tell us that our cabin is perfect for couples, families, or small groups of friends looking for peace and quiet and a chance to reconnect. Although there is more privacy than in many cottage areas, this is not a place for events or loud groups. We adhere to a good neighbor policy.

Appreciate the fully equipped kitchen and games, puzzles and DVDs we provide. Outside you'll find a deck with grill, picnic table, and a few chairs by the fire pit.

Beach/Swimming: Cabin is situated just a few minute's walk from Torch Lake where you will find a small swimming area. An information book in the cabin shows many other beaches on Torch Lake and Lake Michigan.

Bedroom Configuration:
This cabin is a studio, with half-walls separating the queen bed area from the rest of the cabin. Both sleeper sofas are in the living room area.

Boats: Kayaks can be rented in Alden and Bellaire. Pontoon rentals are at DeWitt's Marina on Torch Lake/Clam River.

Cable/Satellite TVs: Not available. We have many DVDs to watch.

Cell phone service: Verizon and AT&T are good, all others are up for debate.

Boat Launch: The public boat launch in Alden has trailer parking for about 20 cars but is also within walking distance of the cabin in case the parking lots are full. You can tie your boat up at one of the public temporary slips, drive the trailer back to the cabin and walk back in about 10 minutes.

Fishing: Good fishing in both Torch Lake and Clam Lake (they are connected by Clam River).

Fishing poles: Guests should bring their own.

Grill: Charcoal. Guests should bring their own.

Grocery Store: 5 minute drive to full market in Rapid City or 10 minutes to Bellaire.

Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets, blankets, and towels. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. Guests should bring their own beach towels. There is a clothesline in the yard.

The space
Nestled on 300 serene acres, our cabin offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature. Explore the mowed hiking trail winding through the property, perfect for a leisurely stroll. In the fall, enjoy picking fresh delicious apples!

During summer, you may spot us walking our friendly dogs on the property. We’re warm and welcoming but respect your privacy and won’t intrude. Please avoid parking in front of the storage barn, as we may need access.

Wildlife, including deer and other animals, roams freely here. While this is bear country, sightings are rare. Near the storage barn, a beekeeper maintains hives during summer. Please do not disturb the hives to ensure everyone’s safety.

Welcome to the Red Cottage! Great news, we have a brand-new bathroom remodel and have added a washer and dryer! We have a three-night minimum stay requirement for spring and summer. Enjoy the Lake's turquoise color, crystal clear water, breathtaking views and sunsets. Two kayaks available for our guests. Nearby recreational activities include golf, tennis, hiking, biking and boating on the Chain of Lakes. Local towns have shops, restaurants, and are a short distance away.

The space
This cabin is charming and offers all of your basic supplies for a comfortable stay. The kitchen has several utensils, stocked with a crock pot, griddle, pots and pans. There are also baking dishes and platters. The Weber grill is like new too. The bedroom and bath linens are clean and always updated. There are extra linens and heavy blankets available for guests to use as needed. The porch has been updated with new seat cushions for the wicker furniture and a new coat of Torch Lake blue paint. The three season porch is cozy, has a great view and can be closed off with the door from the main cabin. This is particularly helpful if you have littles that go down for bed early and the adults need a place to hang out. We offer AC and a heated furnace and small electric fireplace for ambience and comfort. The Wifi is actually excellent and the signal is strong. The dining room has 6 chairs and there are two extra blue chairs that fit at the table too. Enjoy the getaway and make yourself at home!

Guest access
The Red Retreat cottage is set in a small condo community so guests may have an opportunity to meet the neighbors for a chat! The community has a good amount of green space for running and playing, and wonderful views of the lake directly from the cabin and also from the community deck and the beach areas. Guests may park a maximum of two vehicles for free!

Other things to note
The Cedar Shores community offers a panoramic 260 feet of frontage on Torch Lake. There is a swing set and volley ball net on the property as well. Benches and beautiful wooden swings are available for renters to enjoy! The view of the lake from the cottage dining room, and 3 season room as well as from the deck are excellent. Enjoy a meal inside or outside with great views or right on the beach! Cedar Shores offers wonderful amenities to make your visit special and memorable!
