Clean, new, and close to everything we wanted to do: hike, visit waterfalls and Lake Superior, go to the Ice Festival, and Eben Ice Caves. These being seperate units, they were super quiet. - "The rooms were far from the water, not like to picture. The living space was nice but the beds were very uncomfortable, we didn't even stay our second booked night. The room was very cold and drafty, and the thermostat was programed to 68 degrees and we very cold, it did not warm well. It didn't even come with towels! We had to go and buy our own. We wanted to rent snowmobiles and was told it was too warm, it was 35 degrees outside! When we asked around they said that it was not true, plus we saw many other people riding snowmobiles. Very disappointed."

We stayed in cabin 11, and didn’t find anything anyone complained about to be true, except that the beach is across the street (like 15 feet) and behind the other cabins. This was no problem, as we were told we’d share beach access with cabin 8. You can still look out and see the beach, and go to local sightseeing spots. The cabin itself was lovely, I enjoyed the warmth from the gas fire/heater and the cozy, intimate space provided an ideal backdrop against which to explore the inner and outer realms in the UP. We had problems with WiFi but the host def did their best to help us out (we ended up driving to the main cabin to use it) but this wasn’t a dealbreaker for me. Nearby, Angelo’s? Something like that, little italian place in a Cedarville has amazing food, like homemade biscuits and gravy and freshly baked bread. "

A unique name of unknown origin. This 2 bedroom, 528 sq ft cabin is a wonderful size for a family to spend a relaxing vacation, camping along the shore of a beautiful 1900 acre lake in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan.

The space
This Vintage Rustic cabin, primarily designed for the camping & fishing enthusiast, is just one cabin of a 7 cabin resort. This cabin was built in the early 1950's and holds every bit of that vintage character. It may be a little rough around the edges but this authentic cabin holds the wonderful allure of days gone by. Electrical outlets would have been added a few years later and air conditioning wasn’t even thought of at that time. Those details won't matter to the outdoorsy kind coming for the camping experience where lake activity fills your day and evenings are enjoyed around the campfire. This charming cabin has a knotty pine interior and all the basics to create an Up North camping style atmosphere. A lifestyle one will appreciate becoming acquainted with.

All the cabins are lined up next to each other along the shore of a beautifully serene lake. This close proximity to other cabins have traditionally created a friendly community style atmosphere where guests mingle and create lasting friendships. This is the kind of place where your grandparents brought your parents, your parent’s brought you, and you are now bringing your children to create beautiful memories while spending a nostalgic vacation in a familiar old cabin.

There is 1 electrical outlet next to the bed in each of the bedrooms. Other electrical outlets are minimally located throughout the cabin. The cabin has a kitchen with everything to cover your basic needs, a dinning space and a simple bathroom that includes a warm shower. The spacious 10’x6’ enclosed porch overlooking the lake is the perfect area for spending a relaxing afternoon.

Come an enjoy the outdoors and relax at our family’s camp. We want to share our experiences with others. We still use it at times. Lots of wildlife in the area and to hear at night when your sitting by the fire. Boat ramp is 1/2 mile away to fish for walleye, bass, pike. Atv trails near by too. There’s 2 restaurants/bars and country stores within 3 miles. A trail that leads down to the water. It’s more of a rustic experience and for an outdoorsy person. The space
Our camp is located on Raber Bay/ St Marys River System. One bedroom with queen and double bed, with futon in main room. If there’s two couples or two parents and two kids that want to stay just text me, I put three people max. It’s next to state land that’s a huge cedar swamp forest with all the wildlife u.p has to offer. Our property has a trail that lead down to the water 1/4 mile walk. You can hear the freighters engines when it’s quiet or sitting outside having a bonfire. Has a sauna house with a wood stove, and shower inside with an outdoor tankless water heater for showering. Has a shallow well with jet pump and filters. I do have step by step instructions at camp to get the water and heater going it’s pretty easy to do, also I’ll most likely have the water turned on before you get there. NO RUNNING DRINKING WATER THERE , so I encourage you bring a little, I have bottle water there and a jug of water under the kitchen sink with battery powered pump if you prefer to use that not the well water. Does have indoor toilet. It has a kitchen with electric griddle,gas 2 burner stove, mini fridge, microwave, crockpot, coffee pot and all of the cookware and utensils and also a blackstone. 32” tv with dvd player build in. No wi-Fi. I have towels and wash clothes for showers, extra sheets and blankets if you stay for awhile. I do have a fish cleaning table on the side of the sauna house. For the hunters there’s plenty of state land to hunt small game and waterfowl hunting out on the bay. Guest must take there garage with them. We do ask that you clean up the place before you go. We want people to enjoy it and trying to make the price reasonable.

Other things to note
Also if you’re there to fish I can give you some pointers. Bring rubber boots if you want to walk up the shoreline. You can walk about a mile to the north, I’ve have seen beavers, otters, mink, coyotes, wolves, deer, numerous bird species, bears, bobcats on and around our property.

Portage Lake Acres Cabin 3 by the Course--Convenient Location next to golf course

The space
This cabin is perfect for a weekend to come and cook for your MTU student, snowmobile, ski, bike, hike or a longer getaway to explore all that the Copper Country and Keweenaw Peninsula have to offer. It has all that you need with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, living area and fully stocked kitchen [refrigerator/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, oven/stove and sink + dishes and basic cooking supplies]. Smart TV in living room with Roku. There are channels available through the Spectrum app.

The location right next door to the Portage Lake golf course and 2 miles south of Michigan Tech offers the feel of a nature getaway but with the conveniences of being close to stores, restaurants and events at the university. It is located right across the highway from the recreational trail which can be used for walking and biking in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter.

**Please Note: There is a natural gas space heater in the living room that is the main source of heat and may be warm to the touch for little ones.

Parking: There is parking right in front of the cabin. Please do not block access to the other cabins. There is also additional parking available on the property for trailers, etc.

A simple getaway. Lake access right down the street with public boat ramp. Great for taking a break in an incredibly designed cabin. The water is okay for taking a shower and washing dishes, but please use bottled water for cooking and drinking.

We currently have bald eagles and golden eagles sighted daily. Close to the snowmobile trail, 4-wheeler trails, horse trails and the Pigeon River State forest. I-75 does run along side of property, but has a tree line which blocks the sight of it.

The space
Private and rustic setting on the Ford River. Birds, deer, turkeys, chipmunks and other animals visit the yard frequently. Eagles and ospreys are abundant and ducks and geese return each year. The river can be heard from the porch and inside the cabin with windows open. The area is very relaxing and quiet and provides a great setting for a restful visit. This is a RUSTIC cabin on a riverbank. Please watch your footing in the yard and stay back from the edge.

Get Away to an unspoiled environment, a place that has been virtually untouched, that is Beaver Island. Our cabin (Kelly's Point) is situated 40 feet from Lake Michigan on a 2 acre parcel. The views of Lake Michigan and The Fox Islands are spectacular!

Kelly's Point was first built in the 1930's as an original island cabin (900 sq ft). There is a functioning indoor bathroom, outdoor shower, kitchen and electricity. Kelly's Point is very charming, with spectacular views of Lake Michigan.

The space
The house has a wood burning stove, and wood is provided to ensure your stay is cozy during the colder months! We will make sure the fire is going, so all you need to do is put some wood in the fire that is provided.... If you have never done this, don't worry, it is super simple, and directions are provided!

During the summer months, enjoy our newly updated firepit area! We have an AC unit located in the upstairs loft and between that and the vaulted ceiling fan it keeps the entire home cool and comfortable. We also spray the exterior of our home and provide bug management, but ultimately we are surround by woods and bugs are inevitable (especially the asian lady beetles, they are harmless, just incredibly invasive in West Michigan) We understand if this is worrisome for some folks and just want to be totally transparent.

We have a split kitchen, which we try our best to show in the photos. We have found that while yes, this is unconventional, it actually provides us the space and more room to not be crowding in one area. Everyone has their own preference but again, 99% of our guests have not found it to be a deal breaker.

Our guests have the entire home and 10 surrounding acres to themselves.

One thing to note: The property has a shared driveway at the bottom of the hill on the neighboring 20 acres. The neighbor from time to time may drive through. It is only one neighbor, and he does not live there full time.

Other things to note
If you're looking for a place away from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is it! We are located less than 20 minutes from Big Rapids and 20 mins to Newago.

We love dogs and ours personally LOVE the space to run and we welcome dogs (2 max, unless discussed prior) we require the pets be included in the booking PRIOR to stay and it is to cover additional cleaning. If a pet fee is not paid prior, an additional charge of $30 + pet fee will be included in a request to the AirBNB resolution center.

You may hear some road noise while sitting outside depending on the time of your stay.

We have a split kitchen and we do our best to show it in the photos. What this means is, The stove and microwave are in one room and the sink and cooking supplies are in another. While we have no issues with this set up, we want to be completely up front so there are no surprises.

Phone service can be a bit spotty in the area surrounding depending on your phone provider but we recently had Fiber internet installed so if you plan to work, you should have no issues as the service provides incredible speeds! If you're looking to enjoy the peace and relaxation, we recommend putting the phone down and grabbing a book or a board game!

Just 5 minutes to ORV trail. Sandy bottom lake. Only 20 minutes to Torch Lake. Cabin has its own private dock. There is a concrete patio with fire pit, private picnic table, charcoal grill, and patio furniture. We have two kayaks that are available with life jackets.

The space
It is a small cute cabin only 700 sq ft. The bathroom has a small shower. Two queen beds in separate bedrooms and two twins in loft.

Other things to note
The fireplace is off limits to guests. No smoking in cabin. There are two parking spaces only.
