The information booklet requested using machines only if absolutely necessary. The previous guest left an overflowing trash cart that was the first thing we saw entering through the garage. "

++SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS++

SHARED SPACES: This cottage is part of a shared property. Consequently, the outdoor space and beach are shared with other guests. We anticipate everyone to respect others' enjoyment. Rest assured, the interior of your cottage remains completely private and personal throughout your stay.

BEDDING/TOWELS: Bedding and towels are not included in this rental. Each mattress and the provided pillows are protected with waterproof, zippered covers. Don't forget to pack bed sheets, pillowcases and blankets in addition to bath, beach and hand towels.

DOG-FRIENDLY: Cottage Cove welcomes dogs. Even if you're not traveling with a pet, expect to see dogs in shared areas. Bear this in mind when booking, especially if you have allergies or plan to bring your dog. Dogs must be on 6ft leashes whenever outside the rental (including the beach), and owners must clean up after their pets immediately.

CLEANLINESS: We prioritize offering a clean environment for your vacation. Every appliance, surface, and fixture is thoroughly cleaned between stays. However, there are some points to note.

• We are pet-friendly, so a few stray hairs may evade our cleaning.

• Our spacious, circular driveway is a great playground for kids and provides a smooth walking surface. However, it can lead to oil from the asphalt being tracked into the cottage: especially, when guests walk barefoot from the beach. Despite our diligent cleaning efforts, the asphalt can sometimes leave marks on the cottage floors and bathtubs.

• With the beach comes sand, which we endeavor to remove completely. However, if we miss a few grains, rest assured they've been mopped, sprayed, or wiped clean.

• We make every effort to keep our upholstered furniture and carpets clean. However, due to the nature of rental properties and limited time during our rental season, some stains may not be completely removable. We appreciate your understanding.

• Some appliances might not appear spotless due to exterior rust or old paint jobs. We replace appliances as time and resources permit, and ensure they are cleaned between stays.

• Please note, these points are not meant to excuse substandard cleaning. If you ever feel our cleaning is insufficient, let us know immediately, and we'll rectify the situation.

HOT WATER: This cottage has a smaller water heater than you may be accustomed to at home. Prolonged or extremely hot showers might be challenging, especially in cold weather. Spacing out showers, dishwashing, and other hot water use usually solves the issue. If this poses a concern, consider booking one of our larger cottages with more substantial water heaters.

COASTAL LIVING CHALLENGES: Our vacation rental homes are located on Lake Huron's shore, close to the Huron National Forest. Given our location and the age of our properties, please be aware of the following.

• Ants and other insects may find their way into the cottage, despite regular pest control efforts. You can help by maintaining food cleanliness and immediately cleaning spills/crumbs.

ACCESSIBILITY: Our cottages are not handicap-accessible. Most doorways are narrow, and some spaces may present obstacles for those with mobility issues. Please review all photos to assess suitability before booking.

PROVIDED ITEMS: To simplify your packing, we supply essentials for your trip, but with certain limitations to stay competitive.

• Sanitary Items: Expect roughly 1 roll of paper towel, 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, hand soap, dish soap and 2 trash bags.

• Kitchenware: We provide dinnerware to accommodate the maximum number of guests, plus basic cookware. e.g. at least 1 saucepan, 1 frypan and simple cooking utensils.

Our beautiful cottage is right outside Cheboygan city limits set in a peaceful country backdrop. This cozy little space is the perfect retreat for you to explore everything Northern Michigan has to offer. As soon as you walk into our quiet little getaway, you will feel at home. Just a couple minutes from the cute shops and restaurants that line Cheboygans Main Street, and about 20 minutes from Mackinac City's famous fudge shops and the ferry docks for Mackinac Island.

Our cottage is not suitable for any groups over 4 and events/gatherings are not allowed.

*Please be aware that we are surrounded by fields and woods. While we do our best to keep nature outside, we do sometimes have insects that are able to sneak in.

Your family will love staying at our 3 bedroom 2 bath cottage with direct access to Lake Huron. Centrally located in the heart of Port Austin, we are within walking distance to shops, restaurants, the beach, mini golf and canoe rentals. Bring your boat and utilize the public boat ramp just steps away with public parking. The house has a full kitchen, coffee maker, a picnic table on the back deck, gas grill and fire pit. Incredible sunrises and sunsets right from the back deck.

Welcome to this quaint 660 sq ft cottage on the 2,680 acre Gun Lake. Memories are to be made on this all sports lake with 5,200 acres of trails nearby at Yankee Springs Recreation Area. The main level is a full kitchen, bathroom, laundry & living area with a queen size Murphy bed in the living area. Upstairs in the loft are 2 twin beds & a full bed. No actual bedrooms. Upstairs balcony overlooks the lake. Outside you have access to 3 adult kayaks, 2 child kayaks, & a stand up paddleboard.

The covered patio has a patio table with seating for 6 as well as a gas grill.

Feel free to use the sporting equipment that includes yard games, basketball hoop, kayaks, and a paddle board (Life Jackets are supplied).

You are allowed to dock your boat at our dock directly behind the house free of charge. There are plenty of boat rentals in the area as well.

You will find multiple board games for those rare rainy days as well as internet for streaming Netflix, Hulu .... etc

There is a firepit and plenty of wood available for fires by the lake. Marshmallow roasters and pie makers available to use.

All linens and pillows included. Laundry soap and essential toiletries are also supplied.

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, as well as a coffee pot.

The space
New linoleum and carpeting throughout. Deck added last year. Central air. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate are included. We try to offer a seasonal treat from the garden or local farm (tomatoes, apples etc.) when they are available. Also available are local newspapers, magazines and books, board games, and games for the little ones. We provide a bed rail if needed for young guests We are on 20 acres of natural habitat. Deer, cranes, geese, wild turkeys and our own chickens are common sights. We have a 2 acre pond and organic garden. The back yard is a bird haven and wonderful place to relax. If you need anything, please ask, as we aim to make your stay enjoyable!

We are on 20 acres, close to town, but a country setting with free range chickens, a 3 acre pond and organic garden. The back yard has horse shoes, bad mitten net, and bocce ball for your fun. The pond is not recommended for swimming as there is no life guard and there are a lot of lily pads.

The space
2Cs is an over 100 years old remodeled cottage. Two bedrooms (1. king-size, 2. three twins) with 2 baths. Fully equipped kitchen, living room, dining room, porch, and backyard with firepit and yard games. It sleeps 7 comfortably. Games and smart TVs are provided. Store & bar/grill a couple doors down. Conveniently located less than a half of hour drive to Lapeer, Frankenmuth, or Birch Run.

Please note-due to the woodsy and rustic area, we don't guarantee to maintain the grill or the outside furniture regularly.

Guest access
Guests have the full cottage and yard for use. Access to Otter Lake- all sports lake with beach, dock, picnic area, and playground (small fee may be charged).

Enjoy the sunrise with the perfect cup of coffee or wind down in the evenings on the front porch or backyard with a gas grill, tables and chairs for outdoor dining, lawn games, and a fire pit to roast some s’mores. Lots to do in this quaint community. Go for a hike or bike ride on the Southern trail. Relax on the beach right across the street or the Holloway Reservoir and Buttercup Beach is only a short drive. Blueberry picking is another option. This is not just a summer getaway- we have something for everyone year-round. The fall brings beautiful sights with all the trees in full glorious color. In the winter, there are trails for ATVing and cross-country skiing, and a lake for fishing and ice-skating. Perhaps, spend rainy days in the rocker, watching the Smart TV for movie night or your favorite sports, ...or maybe playing one of the many board games that are provided.

100-year-old home with all the charms- please note this home is OLD, with some low ceilings, uneven floors from settling, and all the typical conditions with a rural area.

Propane for grill is not guaranteed. The tank is provided but may need to be exchanged (available right around the corner at Dollar General @$20)

Kayaks belong to the owners but can be borrowed during your stay. Kayaks are used at your own risk. You must return everything that is borrowed. Kayaks are not considered part of the rental. Owner assumes No liability.

Ring security cameras are located outside the property. There are no interior cameras.

All dogs (any pet) must be approved. There is a $75 per stay per dog extra fee. No cats are allowed due to severe allergies of homeowners.

Rural area- no refunds for bugs or critters.

Unplug from all of life's craziness, at our adorable Cottage/Beach house with gorgeous lake front on Beautiful East Lake! If nature, a great view & relaxation is your thing, this is for you! Everything you and your family need for a fun, relaxing vacation! We do not have cable or internet. We do have a tv and dvd player. We are within an hour or so of most of the popular things to do. in the winter, you will need to park at the top, walk about 100 ft or sled down to the cottage.

The space
There are 2 sets of bunk beds and 1 king bed. 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, full kitchen, dining area, living all in 1 space. 635 square feet. Reminder this is a cottage in the woods. There will be bugs, dirt etc...we do our best to clean. White shed will have the outdoor accessories. There is a TV but only with a DVD player. There is no internet or cable.

We are not far off m28 and there will be some road noise. East lake is a spring fed, God made lake. There naturally will be weeds in the lake especially later in the summer, although we have a sandy shore.
