URSA MINOR is the lower chalet-suite at URSA LODGE. URSA MINOR is cozy two bedroom, one bathroom suite offering a full kitchen, and comfy living space with a wood burning fireplace. The main bedroom offers a queen size bed with high quality linens, blankets and towels (two).

Our second bedroom sleeps up to three in a bunk bed featuring a double bed mattress under a single bed. Dishes and silverware for four place settings, pots, pans and cutlery are available in the kitchen for guests cooking and dinning needs along with an ample refrigerator/freezer and electric range. A charcoal grill is also available for outdoor cooking. We try to provide charcoal for guests, but it is not guaranteed.

Relax outside in our wood fired barrel sauna and hot tub (both fit four people), and hang out around the fire pit.

PLEASE NOTE: There is NO MICROWAVE and NO LAUNDRY MACHINES on premises. This is a duplex chalet, so there is a possibility that there will be guests in the unit upstairs, which is completely separate.

HOUSE RULES:

- Do not move furniture, dishes, kitchen utensils or any other objects between upper or lower units.

- Skis and Snowboards are not allowed inside the chalet.

- Do not wear ski boots inside the chalet.

- No smoking (of anything) indoors. If you do smoke outside dispose of your waste properly. Do not flick cigarette butts around the property.

- Dispose of all garbage properly in the containers provided.

- Renters are liable for proper grill use. Move the grill away from the structure before use and recover grill when fully cooled.

- Quiet hours are 10pm - 8am. Please be respectful of other guest and our neighbors.

- Pets are not allowed.

- Occupancy capacity must not be exceeded for overnight guests.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

100% refund until 15 days before booking, 50% refund 15 - 5 days and no refund after 5 days (barring a catastrophic event or bereavement. In that case we offer a full refund). Non refund cases can be transferred to other dates for up to one year. Security deposits are non refundable in all cancellations that occur within 15 days of booking.

Offering a nice amount of privacy, our chalet sits nestled between both Higgins Lake and Houghton Lake, maximizing activities for all seasons. Inside was thoughtfully and professionally designed, with the utmost comfort in mind. A blend of modern and casual, featuring an open floor plan with many windows creating a bright and airy atmosphere.

The Space:
Featuring two king size beds each, in their own bedrooms and two additional full size beds in the loft. Each outfitted with the coziest linens and plenty of extra blankets and pillows to keep you comfortable. One full bath on the main level and a half bath upstairs lets everyone spread out when nature calls. We do provide a washer and dryer in the home, a bathroom scale, iron and ironing board, cozy bed linens and fluffy towels. There are two smart televisions, one in the living room and one in the primary bedroom on the main level. We also have satellite Wifi. We do provide some basics to get your vacation started right, toilet paper, paper towel, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, laundry detergent for a couple loads of laundry, dish soap, hand soap, a first aid kit if needed and 2 fire extinguishers (one for each level). Outside, we have a small deck for eating lunch or dinner or just sitting and stargazing. A soft hammock for lazily reading a book or taking a mid-day snooze after a refreshing swim in crystal clear Higgins Lake. Roasting marshmallows and making s’mores while sharing fun memories and stories by our new bonfire pit is sure to set your vacation apart.

Our sunset chalet offers a quiet setting on 40 acres of farm pasture fields. Sit on the deck while enjoying panoramic views over Lake Michigan including Beaver Island continuing north towards Wilderness State Park, four lighthouses and the sand dunes in the Upper Peninsula. Wildlife such as deer, wild turkeys, cranes, eagles and many other birds are abundant in the area. The dark sky is perfect for star gazing and not far from the "Dark Sky Park" near Mackinaw.
The chalet has a complete kitchen, full bath and a spacious living room on the main floor. The upstairs has two bedrooms each with a queen bed, a sitting room with twin trundle beds, a full bathroom and walk out deck.
Cross Village has a local beach with swimming and a small boat launch. More public beaches are located to the north at Sturgeon Bay with miles of beach and hiking trails which include the North Country Trail. Cross Village is only 20 minutes away from Harbor Springs and Mackinaw City. A day trip to Mackinac Island is a favorite for visitors. Bedroom 1 has queen bed with a sliding barn door, bedroom 2 also has a queen bed with sliding barn door. This home has a beautiful view overlooking Furnace Lake but does not have lake access. This home was recently built in 2023/2024 from a couple tiny homes that we combined and added on to. Since we are located in Christmas, it is decorated all year with snowmen :) We recently added an outdoor hot tub to our home. It is set on the back patio so you can relax and take in the beautiful views after a day of exploring!

You'll love the serenity and the privacy of this home, yet how close you are to area attractions such as Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Grand Island, waterfalls, hiking trails, beaches, etc. It has a beautiful view overlooking Furnace Lake. You are less than a mile from state snowmobile and ATV trails. We are dog friendly and allow up to 2 dogs with preapproval and $75 non-refundable pet fee.

You have full exclusive access to home and yard. Unfortunately, there is no lake access with the home, but it does have a great view of the lake.

You are only about 5 miles from downtown Munising where there are Pictured Rocks Cruises, Glass Bottom Boat Tours, Sand Point Beach, waterfalls, etc. In Munising, there is a grocery store (Pat's Foods), Family Dollar, a couple hardware stores, and numerous restaurants.

There is room to bring a boat if you have one and there is a public access to Lake Superior within 5 miles from home. There is also room to bring snowmobile/ATV trailers and then you can ride from the home to hit the trails. The driveway does have a little hill with a turn and could be a challenge to turn around and get back down if your trailer is over 20' long. There is plenty of room to park trailers at the bottom of the hill if needed.

**Signed rental agreement and security deposit hold required for all reservations. Primary guest will need to upload a picture of government issued ID and list names and ages of all other guests in their group.
**There are 2 exterior audio/video recording devices on the property. One faces the front door of the home with the driveway and the other faces the back door. They are motion activated and on 24/7/365.
