After a couple of hours I received a text message from the property management telling me that they've received several complaints about the volume of the music from our unit and that they would be contacting the authorities to have me removed from the property if I didn't turn it down. Wait...what!?!? This was the first I had even been made aware that the music was a problem, and you're already threatening to have me removed??? I turned the music down immediately after seeing the text, same as I would have done had they just requested that I turn it down (without the threat), but I was so turned off by this lack of tact and immediate escalation of an easily resolvable issue that I would never want to deal with them again. For being the Carribean of Michigan, my expectations were a lot higher and I ended up pretty disappointed. We did, however, enjoy the few things we were about to do... trail riding over an hour away and boat rental on Torch Lake about 25 minutes away. We will choose another location next time."

- "I checked in and there was white crusted substance right on the comforter top, along with other places on the comforter. The pillowcase had washed out blood and other liquids stained on the corner. I had to sweep the place when I got there, and so many other things (don’t expect to eat without washing all pots and pans they are covered in sawdust from no working drawer). I took off all bedding and slept on towels. I contacted the contact given and was able to leave property however no refund from Evolve company or owner of unit for the awful night I had to stay there. They ruined my entire trip and Evolve said their standards of cleanliness may not have been met however no refund for the night I was stuck there was available. Never use Evolve to make a reservation they don’t care about their clients and are all about the bottom dollar. bodily biohazards are apparently not a problem to cuddle up with and certainly not worth a refund according to Evolve."

Newly remodeled and very clean. Kitchen is equipped with new appliances and anything you might need. Kitchen has table with two chairs. Room has a queen bed, linens, recliner chair and ceiling fan. Bath has claw foot tub/shower and towels, etc.
This is an older building and has a large boiler with steam heat. Two radiators in the unit that can be turned on or off to control the temperature in the unit. Steam heat does make some small noises as the pipes warm up and cool down. Nothing much but something to be aware of. It’s a nice comfortable heat.
There is also a fan in the closet to aid with comfort and to help add some white noise if the building is too noisy.

My place is great for Skiers/Boarders, couples, solo adventurers, business travelers. U of M care center.

The space is clean, quiet and private. Basic cooking can be done and there is a grill on the deck . Coffee and a variety of Tea is provided for your enjoyment. There is an toaster oven, electric skillet, electric frying pan, blender and Coffee maker! The place has a 5.1 Stereo system with a Bluetooth connection. Music can be played inside and outside on the deck. Internet WifI connections for 2.4G/5G. Note 5G is connected to Gig Internet. Ethernet connection is available. Note: The bathroom is not suited for larger people.

Studio style apartment with walk in closet. Please note this unit does not have a kitchen however we do have a small refrigerator, coffee station and hot water kettle set up along with a set of plates and glasses for guests to use!

The outdoor pool it's generally Open June 1 through September 1st.

Guests will have full access to the apartment and building. There is a lockbox set up with a key card for building & pool access. An electronic lock is set up for keyless entry to the unit.

The laundry room is located on the 2nd floor just to the left of the elevators. The machines accept credit or coins.

The pool table is located in the event space, please be aware that the restaurant occasionally rents the pool and/or event space for events so access is sometimes limited.

Hours for the pool and the event space are daily generally from 8am to 8pm.

Parking details:
The free parking on the premise are 3 off-street parking spaces for the building which can be used overnight right outside the front door. However, these are first come first served, so they may not always be available.

There’s also paid street parking along cass or free parking along Ferry st (less than a block north). Paid street parking is free in Detroit from 10pm-7am.

Wayne state structure 1 is a block away at the corner of Cass and Palmer. However, you need a permit to park here overnight.

Pet-Friendly:
Feel free to bring your furry friends as this unit is pet-friendly! We do charge a $25 pet fee and we kindly request that you make an effort to keep them off the furniture when possible. :)

The space
We stay in the apartments from time to time. We find them to be very peaceful and comfortable. A real home away from home. We have taken care to decorate and furnish them to be comfortable and inviting, but are always making changes and improvements based upon guest feedback.

Guest access
We will provide you with a 4 digit code that we will provide the morning of your arrival. It will open both exterior doors and your apartment (no keys to keep track of or worry abomut returning). Basic cable and high speed internet are provided. We have free parking behind the building. Our parking lot allows only 1 car per apartment. We have 2 extra spaces that are first come, first serve, but definitely not guaranteed. There is a coin operated washer and dryer in the building. We have storage lockers that are usually available for extended stay guests.

Is the apartment available for a certain date?

If you filter your search for the dates you need and our apartment pops up it is available. If you are browsing without a date filter you can use the "check availability" button and it will show you a calendar with the open dates.

Can we check in early?

We will accommodate an early checkin to the best of our ability. It all depends on whether or not we have a guest the night before you arrive and when they check out. Do to these unknowns we won't know if or when we can allow an early checkin until the night before or the day of your checkin. If you need the apt before the 4:00 pm checkin let us know and we will do our best to have it ready asap and text you as soon as it's ready. If you absolutely have to have the apartment before 4:00 pm the safest bet is to book an extra day

Can we check-out late?

Generally no. We plan on being there to get the apartment ready right at noon. Whoever, if you have extenuating circumstances let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you need accommodations past 11:00 am you may need to consider booking another night.

How far is it to (anywhere)?

Airbnb includes a map that shows the one block radius our building is in (Airbnb blocks the exact address and location until after you book for security reasons). We also have included a list of distances to common destinations in our photos. The building is centrally located less then a mile from the expressway and In general you can be anywhere in the Lansing area in 10-15 by car.

Is it a safe neighborhood?

Crime statistics are hard to come by on a neighborhood by neighborhood basis. Lansing is a mid sized city with the typical diverse demographic you would find in a downtown area. While we do not reside in the building we do stay there on on a regular basis and are in and out several times a week and often everyday and neither of us have had a concern for our safety. As anywhere you should use prudence and be aware of your surroundings.

Will you negotiate your rate?

No. We do offer a 10% discount for continuous stays of 30 days or more, the discount will automatically be applied when you reserve a stay of that length. Our focus is to provide the best housing experience for our guest. To that end we price our units fairly so we have the funds necessary for cleaning, up keep, and on going improvements to the building and apartments, taking into consideration the other housing options available in the area and current demand. Giving random discounts would be confusing and unfair to our other guests. We (and our past guest) feel that our apartments are a great value at the listed price.

Can we just pay you directly?

No. It would violate our relationship with Airbnb. We feel they provide there service in good faith and provide protection to to both us as host and you as guest in the unlikely event of a problem or disagreement. Please make your reservation using the Airbnb web site.

Guest access
Full access to all rooms in the apartment. Remember you must be able to climb a flight of stairs. There is a hand rail for everyone's convenience. No smoking inside the apartment please. Smoking on the porch is acceptable ashtrays are provided. Guests are free to walk around all the property that is mowed. Please refrain from walking in the woods or the fields.

Other things to note
Because we are centrally located between Goodrich and Grand Blanc we support our local businesses. As a welcome gift that first morning guests will enjoy freshly ground coffee beans from the "Have a Bean Coffee Shop" in Goodrich. Scones or "Baker Choice" muffins are purchased from the "Great Harvest Bread Company" in Grand Blanc. Both these institutions give back to their communities. These amenities can be enjoyed from the covered porch or from the dining room. We live 9/10 of a mile down a dirt / gravel road. Serenity is what you get. Your alarm, your time.
