Our lake is a living lake with a natural shoreline. This means is that there are plants and animals in the water, and there is no beach. You are welcome to swim. I prefer to paddle around the lake. 😊
• All lake fun is at your own risk, there is no lifeguard on duty. We are not responsible for injury or lost/damaged property.
• I never thought I would need to say this, but Watch Your Kids! We want everyone safe and happy.
• Dock: Guests are welcome to use the dock. The water is about 5 feet deep off the far edge of the dock, and it gets deeper from there.
• Fishing: You are technically required to have a fishing license. We haven’t had a problem so far, but I’m just letting you know that DNR does come out on the lake sometimes, and could request to see your license.

We can sleep up to 4 in our walkout basement, using a queen bed in the bedroom, and air mattresses or sofa in living room.

There is a electric fireplace for warmth and ambiance.

The kitchen is equipped with brand new appliances - fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave. There is even a waffle iron and a small crockpot.

We live upstairs and are available most of the time if you need anything.

The City of Lapeer is a quaint rural city called the Gateway to the Thumb. There is a Town Square, Farmers Market on Saturday and Wednesday and many unique shops and restaurants.

Other things to note
The thermometer is controlled upstairs. If you want more air conditioning or heat, you can open the vents in the ceiling. (in bedroom and dining room)

Summer- we have a fan in the bedroom closet.
Winter- we have an electric fireplace, and a space heater in the closet.

Also we have extra throws to cuddle up in. The temperature has never been a problem, but we want to be sure you are comfortable, so please let us know!

- "I traveled with my husband, adult son and dogs. We are originally from the area and know it well. Fenton is an awesome city with great restaurants and lakes. We were not here to “vacation “ but rather hang out with our daughter. However, if seeking a vacation, there is a small public beach about two miles away in Fenton Twsp Hall area. We had two bedrooms with comfortable beds and fresh bedding. This property was clean and fresh with just about everything brand new. I did laundry in the basement often while using brand new washer and dryer. I also used the peloton bike and my son used it and other exercise equipment. The communication was top notch and the yard was perfect for the dogs! For someone wanting more space than a hotel, and with similar amenities, book this property! It’s 2-3 times bigger than a hotel and has a full kitchen with everything you need plus a yard! We will be back! I forgot to mention the Fenton Wine and Brewery is across the street and we ate and drank there twice. Again… very convenient. Thank you to the owner and property manager! I have a VRBO and understand what it takes to meet the customer’s needs. They did it so well!"

We came during the heat wave and the AC units in the dining room and bedrooms made the house completely comfortable. The house is in walking distance to downtown, the stores and the park that has a playscape for little ones and a great bike and walking path. The home owner was super quick to respond to any questions or requests. It's a clean, affordable, nicely appointed and comfortable home in a safe neighborhood. Would definitely stay there again!"

OakHill offers 20 acres for you, your family and pet to enjoy, including wide open spaces and two lakes for your boating, swimming and fishing pleasure ( catch and release). A 1/2 mile hike trail that’s completely private. If you bring a pet please keep them supervised we’d hate to scare the wildlife and our two orange tiger cats Mango and Skittles. They roam the property and are friendly. You will stay in our cozy hideaway camper that features 1 queen bed and 2 full size bunk beds.and all the amenities you’ll need. Just bring your clothes and food! It’s perfect for a small group of guests. With amenities like a fire pit, grill, two paddle-boats, catch and release fishing on the back pond only, WiFi, heating, and AC, your stay will be nothing short of enjoyable. Smoking is allowed but only outside.

There’s a wood shed just down from the camper with a cash box using the honor system, we provide a pile of kindling for free that’s next to your campsite.
