Our lake is a living lake with a natural shoreline. This means is that there are plants and animals in the water, and there is no beach. You are welcome to swim. I prefer to paddle around the lake. 😊
• All lake fun is at your own risk, there is no lifeguard on duty. We are not responsible for injury or lost/damaged property.
• I never thought I would need to say this, but Watch Your Kids! We want everyone safe and happy.
• Dock: Guests are welcome to use the dock. The water is about 5 feet deep off the far edge of the dock, and it gets deeper from there.
• Fishing: You are technically required to have a fishing license. We haven’t had a problem so far, but I’m just letting you know that DNR does come out on the lake sometimes, and could request to see your license.

A long driveway through the woods, takes you into clearing, where you can experience the great outdoors year-round. It is park-like with lots of wildlife.

Enjoy campfires – we supply the wood and fire starters!
The space
We can sleep up to 4 in our walkout basement, using a queen bed in the bedroom, and air mattresses or sofa in living room.

There is a electric fireplace for warmth and ambiance.

The kitchen is equipped with brand new appliances - fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave. There is even a waffle iron and a small crockpot.

We live upstairs and are available most of the time if you need anything.

The City of Lapeer is a quaint rural city called the Gateway to the Thumb. There is a Town Square, Farmers Market on Saturday and Wednesday and many unique shops and restaurants.

When Lapeer International Dragway is running, it is noisy.

Other things to note
The thermometer is controlled upstairs. If you want more air conditioning or heat, you can open the vents in the ceiling. (in bedroom and dining room)

Summer- we have a fan in the bedroom closet.
Winter- we have an electric fireplace, and a space heater in the closet.

Also we have extra throws to cuddle up in. The temperature has never been a problem, but we want to be sure you are comfortable, so please let us know!

- "I traveled with my husband, adult son and dogs. We are originally from the area and know it well. Fenton is an awesome city with great restaurants and lakes. We were not here to “vacation “ but rather hang out with our daughter. However, if seeking a vacation, there is a small public beach about two miles away in Fenton Twsp Hall area. We had two bedrooms with comfortable beds and fresh bedding. This property was clean and fresh with just about everything brand new. I did laundry in the basement often while using brand new washer and dryer. I also used the peloton bike and my son used it and other exercise equipment. The communication was top notch and the yard was perfect for the dogs! For someone wanting more space than a hotel, and with similar amenities, book this property! It’s 2-3 times bigger than a hotel and has a full kitchen with everything you need plus a yard! We will be back! I forgot to mention the Fenton Wine and Brewery is across the street and we ate and drank there twice. Again… very convenient. Thank you to the owner and property manager! I have a VRBO and understand what it takes to meet the customer’s needs. They did it so well!"

We came during the heat wave and the AC units in the dining room and bedrooms made the house completely comfortable. The house is in walking distance to downtown, the stores and the park that has a playscape for little ones and a great bike and walking path. The home owner was super quick to respond to any questions or requests. It's a clean, affordable, nicely appointed and comfortable home in a safe neighborhood. Would definitely stay there again!"

OakHill offers 20 acres for you, your family and pet to enjoy, including wide open spaces and two lakes for your boating, swimming and fishing pleasure ( catch and release). A 1/2 mile hike trail that’s completely private. If you bring a pet please keep them supervised we’d hate to scare the wildlife and our two orange tiger cats Mango and Skittles. They roam the property and are friendly. You will stay in our cozy hideaway camper that features 1 queen bed and 2 full size bunk beds.and all the amenities you’ll need. Just bring your clothes and food! It’s perfect for a small group of guests. With amenities like a fire pit, grill, two paddle-boats, catch and release fishing on the back pond only, WiFi, heating, and AC, your stay will be nothing short of enjoyable. Smoking is allowed but only outside.

There’s a wood shed just down from the camper with a cash box using the honor system, we provide a pile of kindling for free that’s next to your campsite.

Hot Tub Addendum:
This Rental Agreement Addendum is incorporated into and made part of the Rental Agreement executed by the owner and the Guest, referring to and incorporating the rented home.
There are health risks associated with the use of hot tubs. Guest agrees to use the hot tub at their own risk. The Owner will not be responsible for any injuries sustained by the Guest or the members of the Guest's party when using the hot tub. Guest who signs this agreement will be responsible to advise all other members of their party of all potential hot tub hazards and rules.
Before unlocking or using the hot tub, Guest(s) must completely review and understand the hot tub operating procedures found in the Rental Instructions as well as the safety items listed on this page. The Guest is responsible for operating the hot tub in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Shower before and after using the hot tub. This is because some lotions or makeup mixed with the hot tub chemicals can cause a rash. Showering after hot tub use will lessen the likelihood of rashes related to exposure to the hot tub chemicals. Never wear jewelry into a hot tub due to the chemicals used. Hot tub chemicals can also affect color-treated hair or damage swimsuits.
IF you have any medical conditions (such as but not limited to: heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulatory system problems, diabetes, obesity) or are taking any type of drugs please consult your physician before using the hot tub. If you have consumed or are consuming alcoholic beverages or drugs or have a medical condition that in conjunction with hot tub use may result in drowsiness, do not use the hot tub due to the possibility of losing consciousness with the possibility of drowning.
Guest agrees not to use and not allow members of Guest's party to use any types of soaps, shampoo, lotions, bubbles, glitter or bath oils in the hot tub, as damage to the hot tub and/or skin irritation may occur.
If evidence of use of shampoo, bubbles, lotions, bath oils, or other substances is found in the hot tub, your Rental (damage) Deposit will be forfeited. Do not take any products or items into or around the hot tub, including glass, which may clog the filter, damage the hot tub, endanger persons, or cause injury or skin irritation.
Do not submerge your head, ingest the water or allow the water to contact your eyes. The Guest is responsible for keeping the hot tub clear of debris and keeping the area around the hot tub clear of obstructions, neat and organized.
Guest is responsible for the full cost that may be due for repair and/or replacement of the hot tub that is required as a result of negligence or misuse by the Guest, or the members of the Guest's party, above and beyond the amount of the Rental (damage) Deposit.
Minors must be supervised by a capable adult age 23 or over at all times while in and around the hot tub.
Inspect the hot tub water before use. If too hot, cloudy, dirty, gritty, smells unusual, or you have any concerns about the water quality, DO NOT USE THE HOT TUB and call the owners or maintenance for service.
The cover must be placed back on the hot tub when not in use or not supervised. This keeps the water warm, prevents debris from entering the water, and keeps minors or unauthorized persons from entering the hot tub. Do not use the hot tub if any of the suction fittings have been removed.
DO NOT CLIMB, LEAN, SIT OR STAND ON THE HOT TUB COVER. A damaged/broken hot tub cover will result in $100.00 charge to the Guest.
Guest understands that the hot tub is strictly an amenity, and the use of the amenity is not guaranteed under the terms of the Rental Agreement. Any interruption or non-availability of the hot tub will not violate the terms of the Rental Agreement.
If the hot tub is used frequently during your stay, be aware that the build-up of bacteria, body oils and other foreign matter may overwhelm the hot tub's ability to neutralize the bacteria and properly sanitize and filter the water. If you have concerns related to heavy usage, please text the owner and we will arrange for services (Treatment and Filter Replacement) during your stay if possible.
In the case of a hot tub emergency, call 911. The emergency electrical disconnect fort he thot tub is located near the hot tub.
By booking via VRBO, you have acknowledged that you have read and agree to all rules, terms and conditions associated with this listing and have therefore also read, understood and consent to these hot tub rules.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK:
You and anyone using the Vacation rental during your stay accepts and assumes all risk involved in or related to the use of the Vacation Rental and surrounding property, or any other body of water, any water-related activities, features on the property, activities participated during your stay on or off the property, amenities provided at the property, or third-party transportation vendors, as applicable, whether or not disclosed in the listing. You understand that traveling and staying in a vacation rental property may increase the likelihood of contracting an infectious disease and you voluntarily assume the risk. You further accept and assume all risks involved in or related to any recreational equipment of any kind, including but not limited to, kayaks, floating pad or other floating devices, game or sports equipment, as applicable. You are responsible for determining your fitness for participating in any features or activities during your stay and your ability to fully understand and comply with any directions, warnings, laws or regulations presented. Please note: This is a functioning Airbnb, so it may have up to four (4) people in the house at one time. As the home's owner, I may chose to have friends over for dinner or for a movie night when I am at the home. Quiet hours are in effect from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m., but if you have an unusual work or school schedule, please be aware that other guests may have a more traditional work or school schedule when booking the space.

If you are a long-term tenant, you will have access to the laundry room once weekly.

Guests with pets must either contain their furry friend in their room or use a lead/leash when in the shared areas of the house. The space
The house has two drive ways so lots of space for parking. There are four other rooms besides this one, but most guest are respectful of volume and your space will feel very private. Most guest become like family and we all take part in keeping the space clean and many guest socialize with each other and the host. We try to use liquid soaps in the bathroom, and if you are staying for a long time it would be nice for you to contribute to paper products like toilet paper, tissues, and paper towel. Long term guest are allowed to do laundry, up to 2 loads a week, but they must provide their own detergents, etc. I hope you choose this room, and I look forward to meeting you.

I am retired and work from home. I will be available at almost any time while you are here. Saturday is my day to rest and regenerate so I try to keep that time for myself. All other days and times (up to midnight) I make available for guests.

Great for a weekend away or a longer stay, this large bedroom has a queen bed, ROKU TV original art, desk, a giant closet, midcentury furnishings (but a modern mattress and pillows!) and eastern exposure.

The house features strong Wi-Fi, a living room, dining room, and family room along with a fully equipped kitchen, complete with a coffee maker with multiple types - along with teas - available for you!

The space
A trip back in time, my townhouse features 60s and 70s décor and furniture, but with modern conveniences, such as an air fryer, mini microwave, and flat-screen TVs in all bedrooms.

The backyard offers a nice mix of old and new with vintage patio furniture as well as a gas grill complete with canopy, should you want to cook and dine al fresco!

Because the furnishings, including the appliances, decorative elements, and art, have all been carefully acquired, please do not move these without express permission from me to do so.

Guest access
Because the unit is on the end, I have an additional parking space along with driveway parking. One guest can use the parking pad at the end of the driveway and the others may use the driveway. Guests without cars can catch the bus directly across Atherton and Lyft is also available in the area.

During your stay
I am always available by phone or by email within one hour of contact, unless I am experiencing some sort of emergency.

Also, it is not unusual for me to be at the house during the day with a handyperson or a worker of some sort, so please do not be surprised if you see me. I had a recent long term guest who said they felt *unsafe* due to the number of visitors in the home, when, in fact, it was workers who were always accompanied by me.

Other things to note
1. While visitors are allowed, more than one guest - someone sleeping overnight or being in the house for more than a few hours - is not allowed for the safety and security of the other guests and the property. Exceptions can be made IN ADVANCE with a $10 per night upcharge for an additional person.

2. No parties. None.

3. Unless I'm not home or there are no other guests, the 3/4 bathroom will be a shared space. All guests are provided with dedicated towels in their rooms and these will be used for the length of the stay. Guests are expected to maintain general cleanliness of all shared (kitchen, bathroom(s), living, dining, and family rooms as well as backyard) and individual spaces.

3. If a guest is travelling with a pet, the pet must either be in the guest's room or with the guest at all times. Pets are not to be given the run of the home, both for their safety and that of the other guests (and their furry companions). Pet visitors must be on leads/leashes when in shared spaces, such as the kitchen or living room. There is a tie-out attached to the tree in the backyard for those who wish to sit on the patio while their pup enjoys some outdoor time. ALL GUESTS MUST CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR PETS.
Please note that if a pet becomes a nuisance to other guests on a regular basis, this may result in the need to remove the pet and/or cancel the reservation. Any damage caused by pet will be the responsibility of the guest.

4. As mentioned elsewhere, furniture, art, decorative elements cannot be moved or the rooms altered in any way. While this includes not moving the furniture, it also encompasses not bringing in other large objects, such as televisions, kitchen appliances, mattresses, etc. into the space. Long term (90+ days or more) may discuss storage options, but the individual room rented must stay as presented at check-in. Any failure to adhere to this policy may result in cancellation of reservation.

5. No cooking or food storage in bedroom. Food must be stored in the kitchen, whether on shelves or in the refrigerator/freezer. Eating should be done at the dining room table or in the family room using the TV trays. If you eat in the room, please use the tray provided to protect the sheets and comforter. ALL FOOD GARBAGE MUST BE REMOVED EACH MORNING and placed in the outside garbage bin (if too big to fit in the kitchen can without overflowing).

6. Like the bathrooms, the kitchen is a shared space so please be respectful of others when using any element, from the stove to the air fryer to the sink. Used dishes, glassware, and flatware (but not knives other than butter knives) should be placed in the dishwasher, which should be run and emptied once a week. Pots and pans, along with the knives in the knife block and on the cabinet unit, should be washed by hand. All dish soap and dishwasher detergent are provided in-house, so please let me know if supplies are running low.

7. If something breaks, let me know. If you can't find something, let me know. If you've run out of something vital, like toilet paper or hand soap, let me know. letting folks

8. All rooms have locks and all guests are encouraged to lock their rooms. If I need to access a guest room during their stay, I will inform the guest as far in advance as possible. If you lock yourself out, I will do my best to get you back into your room, but know that I live and work about 45 minutes away in good weather.

9. Parking in the driveway and on the parking pad is reserved for guests. Visitors may park in the overflow lot within the complex.

10. To keep my rates reasonable, temperature in the house is set between 67-70 degrees throughout the year. There are fans in all rooms as well as space heaters and blankets. Please note that heat rises, so the main floor tends to be cooler than upstairs.

This seems like a lot of rules, right? I assure you that every one of these came from an unfortunate incident with a guest. I didn't enjoy writing these, but letting folks know what's up in advance always seems best. It really is a cool place that's hosted far more good than wacky (in a bad way) people, so let's have some throwback fun!

The Tillamook House is located halfway between Lapeer and Davison, approximately 20 miles from Bishop International Airport in Flint. As a guest, you will have plenty of privacy in the lower level of my home. My home is clean, comfortable, and the lot is large, providing plenty of peace and quiet. Although in the country, my home is in a small subdivision, and all roads in and out are paved.

The space
The basement of my home is a finished walkout, so there are 3 large windows, plus a doorwall overlooking my backyard and pond. You will have a bedroom, bathroom, and a den for your own use. I live upstairs and there is a door that separates the stairs to the basement from my living space, so you will have plenty of privacy.

The basement is very private and you will have use of the bed, bath and den. The den area has a couch, a few chairs, a small table, small pool table, dart board, player piano, fireplace, and a flat screen tv, all with a pleasant view of the backyard and pond.
The bedroom is comfortable, with two closets for your use. In the bedroom there is a small desk and chair, and also a kitchen cart with a fridge, micro, and coffee pot.
The bathroom is just outside the bedroom and has a shower.
There is also a small patio off the den. I do have a dog, and the patio is in the fenced dog yard, so Jenna will be around from time to time, however, Jenna does not linger outside, she only goes out to do her business.
You will enter the home through the side garage door, and the stairs to the basement are right when you walk in, so you would just go downstairs. I also use the garage entrance, but have no need to go downstairs while you are visiting. You may just hear me coming in and out with Jenna at the top of the stairs.
I try to provide my guests privacy, but you may see me coming and going, or playing out in the yard with Jenna.

During your stay
I live in the upstairs of my home and you may see and hear me coming and going about my day, along with my dog, Jenna. If you have any questions, or need anything, you are welcome to message/text me at any time.

I park in the garage, so I ask that you park to the far right on the driveway, to allow space for me to get in and out. If you happen to pull in while I am out front playing with Jenna, please allow me a moment to restrain her before exiting your car. This is a historic home in the center of an iconic neighborhood, bordered by a park with tennis courts on one side and the Mott Park Recreation Area on the other. The former golf course is now a disc golf course but is also available for walking, running, or relaxing by the river.

How many beds are there: one full size bed that is permanent. We used to have a roll away but it kept getting damaged. We can provide a mattress that can be laid on the floor if needed.

Are there stairs? Yes. It is an upstairs loft. No elevator.

Is there a kitchen? Yes, a small one.

Is there a bathroom? Yes, also small. The whole space, though built in 1926, is kind of like a tiny house.

This Airbnb home was built in the early 1960's, prior to 1991 ADA home construction standards for door opening widths and other handicap standards.  We have done our best to make the space accessible to guests with handicaps.  The attached private Airbnb bathroom entrance has a privacy curtain.  This maximizes the width of the door opening for mobility devices. This also allows access to the handicap bar when entering the bathroom, which would not be accessible if a door was in place. 

Home is located on a well groomed dirt road.

Firepit located on the property is not available for guest use.
